Great to see this. About the time I was feeling ready to pull the trigger on the LMII version, they closed up shop. 😢 You can bet I put my name on StewMac’s waiting list for this one!

Any idea when they plan to release?

Robbie, do you recommend bending only one side at a time, or will it work to bend both sides and the binding at the same time as we did with the other bender?

This bender is designed to bend only one side at a time.

Do you have any vids on the stew binding jig?

It looks like this is a bit different in process. Did I see that there are now three spring steels and wrapping in paper instead of aluminum foil? How do you like bending with the paper? Thats the first time I've seen that.

Using three steel slats allows you to use them right next to the wood for full support and then one over the blanket to help protect it from wear. I normally use aluminum foil but used paper in the video because I was bending a lighter colored wood and aluminum can sometimes react with lighter woods.

@@OBrienGuitars Thank you! I have bent some light sides and will get some discoloration . . . I still have so much to learn. Please don't feel like you have to answer this, but now that LMI isn't around, where can I get another spring steel? The interwebs have them but I don't have confidence that I'll be getting what I actually need. Thank you so much for your content (and shameless plug for your online courses, they are worth every penny!).

Has StewMac given any hints on pricing?

$2k is my feedback from a different luthier doing a demo video - that is ONLY worth it for someone in production - if you are bending a few sides a month - $2k is extravagant in our opinion

@@planetdigital300 If you're referring to this one - I saw the Driftwood video that had the $2K thumbnail but assumed (or hoped) that was them being hyperbolic to draw in some views instead of it being the actual price.
