I found in excellent condition, 23 of P and D mint 1983s and 17 P and D mint 1982s and counting. I'm still collecting more, and also collecting any denomination of nickels, dimes, pennies and kennedy halves of 82's and 83's as well, because there were no mint sets established those 2 yrs. If I were you all, I would start collecting all 1982s and 1983s ASAP. Thanks JB for educating us about these hidden gems. I will keep my 1982 and 1983 proof sets as well. Thanks again.

Hey JB.. I have read that there were Mint sets made in 1982 + 83.. They were Only available at the gift-shops if you went on a tour at one of the Mints in 1982 and 1983..

Zach Miller depends on the collector if your looking for value then maybe in lower conditions they are about 2-5 dollars a coin for me yes I would pull that out

I remember seeing an article one time about this and because of it I have several rolls now of 82/83's in my roll stash. I started pulling them out of my change and although I do find them often I have never found anything that would be better than the low end of the mid grade numbers so finding one in really nice collectable condition is a rare find indeed. ;)

Great question I had to go to the book. The mintage numbers don't tell the tale. They are close to other years of that time but they 83P is around 30-40 in MS63 and the D is about 10-20. The 82 is worth like $1-2 by comparison.
