Correction! Skyzone has a United States service center in California, in addition to Europe and Asia. Apologies for the incorrect information in the video.
I just sent in my old school Fatshark Transformer HD in for repair when it stopped working. They fixed it even though the Transformer has been discontinued. Top notch customer service.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Orqa's customer service. They ship you a box, it goes to Croatia via 2-day DHL, they fix it in a day, and send it back via 2-day DHL. One week turnaround... something Fatshark can't touch. In my experience, Orqa has better customer service than Fatshark. Even battery issues. Fatshark wanted me to send them the bad battery on my own dime. Orqa just ships a new battery.
I'm sorry for a very stupid question, but with some engineer's misunderstanding: PAL format - is a standard with which all analog video transmitters work. The resolution is 720x576 dots. 576 - is number of lines, which are shown with frequency 50Hz, but for such a high frequency in this standard there is a trick - the picture appears 50 times per second but even and uneven lines alternate 50 times per second, which means that the first picture shows only uneven lines, the second shows even lines. On old tube TV it play no role because our eyes doesn't keep up for how each line is drawing on the screen. But on LCD or oled screen the picture is drown all at once. So to collect the information about the whole 1 picture we need collect first part of picture with uneven lines for 1sec/50Hz=20 milliseconds + second part of picture with even lines 1sec/50Hz=20 milliseconds which equals 40 ms delay+some processing time to things in the drone to add osd for example and etc... So for example in sum we will have about 45-50ms delay... But for real test everybody have a delay about 25-30 ms... The only way to reduce the delay twice is to show on screen only picture with even or uneven lines, so the real resolution in drone fpv system is 720x288 dots (or pixels). That's why I don't see at all any reason to buy any goggles with screen resolution higher than 720p... Unless you wouldn't play games or watch cinema in it... The same thing about TVL numbers in camera... Maybe I'm wrong, would anybody correct my conclusions? Is the higher resolution is just a great Industry cheating or fooling for customers? Are there any real improvements in goggle resolution higher than 720p?
As always Joshua brings it home with the best quality content. Thank you for always bringing it home with the quality. Always respected you for that. I’ll be honest I was thrown back a few years ago when I saw you wearing the “not a dress” but yes. I was absolutely wrong and prejuded you. For that I am deeply sorry. just got my HDO2’s in the mail the other day and they have changed my life. i know you read these and i wanted to credit this video for helping me decide what to buy! safe flying from California!
JB this was an amazing review. You were so very non-biased and pointed out so many important aspects of each piece. The Orqa menu screens were frickin amazing! Made me think....."Hmm I think I need this...." :P Happy holidays - and also I hope that you find your way back home.... we need you here.... :P
If your a Fixed wing pilot you cant beat Box Goggles, especially if you fly at altitude! I absolutely love the immersive experience my Skyzone SJ-V01 goggles give with the 7" 1280x800 screen and 72 degrees FOV and they can display 720p in full res but will accept a 1080p signal and scale it down, Open HD Digital HD FPV looks amazing on them :)
Be careful. The +6 focus range in the goggles does not equate to the same +6 you get in your glasses. My distance prescription is +2 and reading is +3.5. I bought the googles thinking I would be covered. No so. I have the focus range up at +6 and it is not enough.
I know some people come down hard on Fat Shark for not innovating enough etc. but I've been using my HD2's for 4 years now and they're still going strong and I'm not planning on going to another set anytime soon, one main reason is the 50 degrees FOV. The only downtime they had was when I put the door back on the tracker bay and knocked off a tiny component on the power board, a fault in circuitboard's layout design, I had no problems buying a new power board. When the bearings in the fan wore out & the foam wore out I simply replaced the white faceplate with a black HDO one which looks nicer and its foam will last much longer.
@@JoshuaBardwell Thanks Joshua, I'm not rich so can't throw out endless superchats in livestreams but I'm more than happy to share my FPV knowledge & related 3D print designs freely. Like my recent designs for the TinyTrainer; a perfect fitting TPU arm guard with built-in reusable zip tie to hold the canopy down www.thingiverse.com/thing:4690939 And a Minimortal-T antenna holder which has a design that nobody has seen before and I hope others copy it for other things www.thingiverse.com/thing:4662724 (see 3rd, 4th & 5th pictures)
there are also dji goggles racing edition capable of both, analog and digital at a very good range and quality ... cause i had been using them on quads and planes and even a sailboat. the dji air unit is a different one than those for the fpv system ... but still all available and incredible quality.
Fantastic video, JB! I just wanted to say that (16:26) the Fatshark scout has an AV in and I can use it with a Rapidfire module, so its the same performance as a 650 $ HDO2 with a rapidfire
Before I got the FXT Viper II (I wear glasses), I used a Eachine ROTG02 FPV receiver plugged into my phone while I put my phone into cheap VR goggles and duck taped the receiver the goggles. Pretty sketch, but it worked!
DJI comes with a built in HD receiver. None of the others do. So if you plan to go HD later it is the cheapest option. Add $250 for shark byte onto the price of all the others if you want Fat Shark's HD. DJI=$529. HDO2+SharkByte=$750
I love my hdo2 for the large FOV and clear screen. Eachine 800d are nice beginners or the occasional flier.. Top tiers are for those who are completely immersed in the hobby. At 5.97 km the image starts occasionally fading slightly with hdo2, Rapidfire, two directionals, 800mw vtx.
You didn't point out the service you get from Orqa (as you did for FS) but Orqa may not have many service centers, they let DHL express pick your device up and return them fixed in 1 week.
I still think you probably made a good choice. That's a great goggle! Make sure to update the firmware for the goggle and module if they are available!
Sky04 is better than the eachine equivalent if you plan to use it with shark byte because it can actually display 720p and the eachine doesn't have enough pixels for 720p
I was lucky enough to buy the HDO2s from RR at $399 on Black Friday. I used the money I saved to get a TBS Fusion module! A nice upgrade from the FS V5. Work schedule and bad weather resulted in me not having flown with them yet. I hope tomorrow is the day!
Well... for $99 I freakin’ love my EV100’s. Better than LOS in every way. I appreciate all the insight. I have a hard time with goggles because of the prices. I haven’t had any reason to complain about my cheap goggles, they work just fine. I came here because I wanted one of your hoodies, but now you’ve told me my goggles are trash and I need new ones. Well played sir, well played.
I'm just getting into FPV, and quadcopter flying in general, and have learned so much from your videos, thank you, and keep it up! Here's what I've bought so far: I managed to get my hands on an EV800D for $55 (Ali clearance sale) . As for the radio, I was considering the TX12, but the soldered in 1in1 module steered me away, and went with the TX16S. For the quadcopter, I bought a used custom 1s whoop, and a DE65pro is on the way. Ordered a soldering iron per your recommendation (SQ-D60), and I'm practicing on velocidrone. Do I need anything else? :)
great review, thank you. i've also bought ev300o few weeks ago and totally happy with them (especially after mine ev100). your description of me as ev300o customer absolutely correct :)
DB S welcome to FPV...best to find nearby FPV’r and try a goggle in real life for face fit and eye sight..a spec does not tell you all...very personal thing and also expensive....good luck.
One deal breaker with Analog DJI, was the time it took to sync the incoming video and start streaming. If the quad ever goes out of range for an instant, it’s 3 seconds of black screen and a crash. Never happens with Analog goggles. And with a Rapidfire module, when you change channels, that same 3 second black screen is between each channel making it hard to tune.
I hope you see this question and have an answer. I had a pair of Skyzone goggle 5 years ago. I bought them because they had an HDMI port. They sell lenses for people that wear glasses, like me. But only for near sighted people. With the use of a Drimal tool, I made my own +3.5 lenses. Did Skyzone ever get wise enough to make - and + lenses for their new goggles?
I bought the scout, and im very happy with it, I also want to note, you will need extra things with almost all goggles!!! Like batteries and anttenas!!!! It will ad up and will cost you more!!! This THE THING that I looked over when I went into fpv!!!!!!!! YOU MUST BE AWARE OF THIS! I also looked over the price of lipos for the drones, they can be expensive, you WILL need a charger for them also, AND an AC to DC! Anyway, I thought it would al cost me around 800 max for the scout, controller, tinywhoop(to practise) and a 5inch, after a new look up for the cost, if I continue ( im now practising whit the whoop for over a year) I would somewhere end up in the 1100, more then calculated before hand...
I'm new to FPV, but not R/C and just getting started on this adventure. I have been struggling with the whole analog/digital situation with FPV goggles. I don't have a lot invested in the hobby just yet and I have come to the conclusion that I'm going the DJI digital route right from the start. I don't really have aspirations to race, but I do want to do some freestyle and such and being that I don't have anything invested in analog at the moment, I see no reason to go there...for me and my situation. In fact, my first build (supplies on the way) will be a CADDX VISTA 5" build. I know you can buy ready to fly quads, but I like to build things! I don't have the goggle yet, and it looks like there is a V2 of the DJI goggles on the way, so waiting to see what that brings...not to mention you can't find the current goggles anywhere! Anyway, I'm sold on having the great viewing experience of digital and skipping the analog altogether. I know there are cons to everything, but I would rather deal with the cons of digital rather than both analog and digital. Really looking forward to the whole experience and hobby...have to take it slow...
got the eachine ev300d for just under 300 and when banggood shipping got messed up they sent a second pair, now i have 2 sets for under $300 and these things are pretty good, the diversity receiver is really nice for a stock receiver
I'm so glad you mentioned there is no receiver in those Fatshark goggles. I would have to wait a month to justify spending another $100+. $400 out the door is good for a few years.
Dear Joshua, Thank you ! I am new to FPV Freestyle and loved finding your video, great information. Is the Eachine EV800D still the best inexpensive goggle ? Cheers
Thank you soooo much brother you did the best job in explain things i was looking for budget goggles and you have just made it that much easier for me and many other beginners
Fantastic video, Joshua! Thanks a lot! 😃 I still can't buy anything for the hobby... But this is going to help a lot when I can! 😊 Happy new year! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I just ordered fat shark HDO2 for £320 from banggood. I honestly believe that is currently the best bang for the buck goggle currently at that price. Think the sale ends Dec 31st and as its Hong Kong warehouse certain areas they wont ship to.
Hey man I love all your videos basically ive learned all I know about the hobby the most from you! I've watched most of your buddy's videos also but your the best and most likable knowledgeable of you all, so I ended up getting my first fpv drone, goggles, and glasses after waiting for a year due to learning what to get and then saving enough money to buy what I wanted and at the time I was over covid but still dealing with the after effects namely Brain Fog and I got all set up ready to go on my maiden flight I was so stoked and I lost my drone. First flight! It was due to the brain fog I had done enough simulator practice plus I was good at flying regular store bought drones but my reaction time was off for sure idk maybe I was over exited and lost it! It really sucks so now idk which drone I should get to start again its been 6 months and the brain fog is finally over with I thought I was going to be stuck like that forever but now I dont have much money cuz of course I lost my job and so I wanted to see if you'd recommend a drone under 250 I have an analog system
Which fpv goggles that are compatible with non-fpv drones should I get? I have always wanted a drone but the immersion of fpv goggles are just too good to miss out on!
Availability from some of the products only applies to the US. Like the Skyzone Sky03O I can get within 6 days here in Europe. In the US it takes a bit longer. I do really like your approach Joshua. Not a fan favourite video but honest opinion etc.
Availability refers to how widely available it is. The O3O is only available from china direct due to its low dealer margin. So if china direct works for you, it's available. But if you want to support a local dealer, then it's not very available.
JB, I can't help but think that you are picking the best bias ply tire for 2021, or the best incandescent bulb, or the best CRT monitor. All great technologies in their day, but that day is past. I use the old Aomway Commander V1S goggles in my avatar when I'm flying whoops around the house. Everything else is digital as will be anything I buy going forward. Great video for those still interested in analog, though.
I think you would be surprised how many people can't afford DJI and will be flying analog for the forseeable future. The analytics for this video show it trending towards the high end of what I usually get, so that's encouraging.
Joshua, thank you for your devotion to the hobby. I think your spreadsheet is great. It will benefit from additional footnotes. I can think of a first one ... the 'modular' of SKY04X needs an '*'. It's 'Skyzone' modular. Edit: A thesaurus as well ... 'ridiculous' is that a good thing? 😊
Ordered the EV300o to upgrade from my EV800dm yesterday from the link. Hoping the LCD to oled jump is worth it. Thanks for this video. Couldn't justify the fatsharks after all the research feels like I should be buying DJI at that price. If the other oled competition wasn't around then maybe. We'll see how I feel once they arrive.
Wow still on the fence with DJI or HDO2. But hey I can still fly my analog quads with dji just spend the money. But the view. I was at a race pre covid and got a look through the dji goggles then like 2 years ago omg. Then I watched a recent video of you and all I ca remember is the goggles you were using DJI.
I am looking forward to your review of the Cobra-X. Seems a really interesting option form me: Not too expensive, great receiver quality and a decent DVR (acoording to Gal Kremer)
@@runnergt8594 Yes, i bought it, and i like it. The only problem i have is the fitting of the goggle. For me it is very difficult to have the whole image in view, especially annoying for the OSD text. And the 18650 LiOn battery doesn't last long, so i always use it with a external battery
Do you know of any stereoscopic set-ups? It occurs to me that something like that would be a great benefit because it would add a 3D field of view to the equation. It could be done by having 2 cameras transmitting on different channels in my theory. Im curious to know if you have heard of anyone doing this.
I love my skyzone O30. Ha I had the sleep function happen to me 😅 thought my battery died. Never realized how paralyzed I get when I fly. I really want a oled box goggle. Ev800d but oled. EVO800D hmm? I think if dji did an oled box for HD that'd be awesome
Everytime I see this kind of video from you and your website and I dont see my EV300D I feel like I fucked up. At least they are being good enough for me atm. Thanks for your videos anyway, you helped me start in this hobby by A LOT
The reason I avoid the EV300D is that I feel Eachine really let their customers down with the latency problem. They released a firmware that fixed the latency but it introduced visual glitches for some people and they never fully fixed it and I don't think they intend to. If you are happy with them, they're good goggles. I just don't go out of my way to encourage people to get them.
I watched this hoping for more help deciding if I want to spend the money on DJI HD or some other goggles. I’ve had the Skyzone V1’s and the first O2’s. Not happy with the video reception on either. I got to fly a friends DJI system for a few packs and loved it!
Great summary with all Details and points of views. 👍👍👍 BUT: You didn't mention the EV800DM. Yeah, they are quite similar to the EV800D, but I allways found the 800D heavy and uncomfortable to wear.
Great post! However I am disappointed the EV800DM goggles were not on the list. Yes, the screen is smaller than the EV800D but with the magnification added they look as big. Huge plus is that the DMs are much lighter. Also, I like the full face feel versus the 800Ds cheek pillows. Take a look at KababFPV review of the DMs. I will wait couple of months and if this line up is still the same I will get 04X to upgrade my DMs. Cheers from Canada!
@@JoshuaBardwell Yes, but noone actually puts real numbers in the reviews :) They just say it's good or bad based on their feeling :) But it's fine. It's probably too much work to get the real values anyway.
Nothing is future proof, but OLED tv’s are considered the best. Not the QLED knock off from Samsung, which I own trying to save $. Gotta think OLED googles will put you in the driver’s seat for years to come. And if I understand correctly, OLED draws less power. Check out stock symbol EMAN for what USA fighter pilots use.
Yep, some people do get along better with box goggles. I'm one of those people. The Fatshark Scouts are my favorite analog goggles so far. Gal Kraemer has just released a review of the Cobra box goggle. They seem to be even better than the Scouts. It's great to have some excelent, higher-end analog box goggles available.
I Still use my eachine ev800 (moddet: whith dvr and high end Module) becourse i dont like the normal Google style. I want to switch between fpv and los whithout taking my hands of the transmitter and also it was way cheaper. The range of the normal ev800 is more than 2km whith the original linear antenna and a 800mw vtx Set to 200mw (measured by GPS)
A good honest review, puts the goggles into clearer perspective, pun intended. Fatshark goggles not the best for Sharkbyte? That's heresy to the Fatshrk fanbois, I can hear them raging now lol.
Could you do an updated guide that compares these options to the DJI V2? Maybe for someone looking to get their first expensive pair of goggles who is on the fence about digital/analog?
DJI is in this roundup. DJI V2 is exactly the same as DJI V1, if you are using the Air Unit or Vista. The new functionality of DJI V2 only applies if you are using the not-yet-released new DJI FPV drone.
Joshua, I'm a newcomer to FPV and tho I started with a set of 02X goggles I quickly ordered the Skyzone 04X goggles since I needed the focus capability to compensate for my +1.5 reading glasses.. and have had the 04Xs for 2 weeks... The narrow plate would not clip on pressing as hard as I could. I thought it would not Format a microSD .. but it turns out it does work but they deleted all Format progress Success/Fail notices. I was used to seeing this feedback with the 02X but 04X doesn't let you know when it's done. I was then disappointed at the difficulty of decoding the Chinglish 04X manual, and navigating and using the menus. Its full; of grammatical mistakes. Only yesterday did Albert Kim post a video on how to update the firmware properly.. My issues tho were NOT dependant or fixed in the firmware update Ver: 1.3.4? they are all problems using the the GUI which for starters is yes, simple in most cases, but rather complex in some areas since you must hop back and forth between left and right Buttons, scroll wheel, and the wheel's push Button to do almost anything and it's not forgiving if you press one button out of sequence.. There are buttons and a scroll wheel on each side which has it's own internal push button, and the durations you press each is often important. I wish it had more dedicated buttons instead. To select a specific file and Play it back was initially hard, especially since I didn't actually read the manual... :) It took me a week to do this the 1st time.. Its still difficult for me to STOP a Frequency Search once one is started since it gets into an endless loop after it finishes a scan and then re-starts searching the bands again when you touch the RT scroll button.. I really hate to complain like this but although these goggles really are fantastic to fly with.. I found the GUI to be terrible, and to top it off.. if you try to follow the manual and match the indexed diagram to the actual text, you quickly find they use different names in the drawing index that aren't found in the text on how to operate it.. For example, they say to Hit the "OK" button .. but there is no "OK' button on the diagram.. it could be any one of the 4. I still haven't found this "OK" button.. Oh well it's all fixable in s/w so there is hope.. Thanks again for a terrific comparative review of these goggles.. I believe I made the right choice.. mostly because I did not want to to spend so much on DJI cameras..
That's a really good idea for beginners...I was super confused, still am but went Radiomaster TX16 because someone told me to. It's hard to understand what protocals require what. Probably need a spreadsheet lol.
I heard Kabab dreaming about box goggle like the Cobra for a while. I think they’ll be a hit because DJI is dominating the top of the market. Incredibly awesome detailed buyer’s guide! I hope that Bardwell & fans are having a great holiday week!
I currently have the Skyzone o2c goggles, after watching this I feel like they are inferior to most goggles now. When I bought them I was in such a rush to get this style of goggles instead of the big clunky box goggles, I had the makerfire equivalent of the 800d. But now I'm rethinking this with the new cobra's coming out. I need to see more and if they have a good DVR I might switch. Do you know anything about the DVR? Better or worse than my skyzones and if I am allowed another question, are they smaller and lighter than the 800d?
Love my Fatshark HDO2’s and orqa’s! The only thing I don’t like is that if orqa’s need repair I have to ship it to Croatia for repairs from the US. I had to ship my Goggles back to Croatia due to unable to update from 2.5.0 to 2.5.1.
I would like to use with smartcontroller, but i don t know if skyzone 03O works too, having hdmi output should work. I saw the Fatshark hdo2 going. Thanks!
All wonderfully intriguing BUT as i’m considering the ins/outs of getting into droning then adding the fpv goggles to really enhance the flight experience I found myself struggling with the “line of sight” rule and with the FAA becoming an increasingly more abusive overlord to drone usage, aren’t all these goggles illegal without using a spotter? I thought epson’s moverio bt’s was the solution but they’re running from drone applications.
Josh how future-proof are the higher tier goggles (primarily the Orqa or HD02) in terms of how many years they'd be good for? Leaning on the HD02 but just thinkin about how many years of investment we're talkin about before I'd have to buy a new pair. I'm assuming they'd last so long as the receiver unit is upgraded as needed?
I have a tight budget, ~350, but I also have rapidfire already, so the Attitude v5s seem like an obvious choice for me. Would you think that the RF performance gain of RF would be worth more to a whoop class racer than the OLED?
Thanks for the video, Joshua! I was wondering when this video would be released. If I was going to enter the hobby this month, I'd definitely use this video as a reference point when shopping around. For now I'll just wait and see what happens in 2021. Lots of crazy stuff is being released next year like that KFConsole and those Cobras you mentioned.
Hey! Great video as always! But let me disagree with you on this "DJI availibility - excellent" as it's almost impossible to find them ANYWHERE in stock now... Let's check it right now: DJI Official Store - Out of stock, Banggood - Out of stock, GetFPV - Out of stock, RotorRiot - Out of stock, Amazon - Out of stock, and there's no point to continue, have checked lot's of stores to buy them this week without success. What does it means? Are they dumb to keep it out of stock on the eve of New Year Holidays? I think ofc they are not. Seems like second generation is about to be introduced really soon...
I can't figure out who's affiliate links I clicked first/last/most, but I clicked your affiliate links each about 3 times for banggood trying to figure out my first set of goggles 😁

Is this not best of 2020 then
I just sent in my old school Fatshark Transformer HD in for repair when it stopped working.
That is bloody cool! I haven't had to contact their customer yet, but it's good to know they'll have my back when it happens.
I'm sorry for a very stupid question, but with some engineer's misunderstanding: PAL format - is a standard with which all analog video transmitters work. Bought my Orqa’s through Banggood for 400 bucks, felt like a good deal. Very happy with them!

Happy holidays - and also I hope that you find your way back home.... we need you here....
What about the DJI goggles v2 😏
I wear glasses. When I saw the SkyZone Sky04X has a focus range of -6 to +6, it was a no brainer. Thanks, I learned something today!
Be careful. The +6 focus range in the goggles does not equate to the same +6 you get in your glasses. My distance prescription is +2 and reading is +3.5. I bought the googles thinking I would be covered. No so. I have the focus range up at +6 and it is not enough.
Skyzone O30 here and have served me quite well for 7+ months.
Thanks for being a subscriber licensetodrive. You always leave really thoughtful comments.
@@JoshuaBardwell Thanks Joshua, I'm not rich so can't throw out endless superchats in livestreams but I'm more than happy to share my FPV knowledge & related 3D print designs freely.
Like my recent designs for the TinyTrainer; a perfect fitting TPU arm guard with built-in reusable zip tie to hold the canopy down www.thingiverse.com/thing:4690939
And a Minimortal-T antenna holder which has a design that nobody has seen before and I hope others copy it for other things www.thingiverse.com/thing:4662724 (see 3rd, 4th & 5th pictures)
there are also dji goggles racing edition capable of both, analog and digital at a very good range and quality ... cause i had been using them on quads and planes and even a sailboat. the dji air unit is a different one than those for the fpv system ... but still all available and incredible quality.
I just got the tinyhawk 2 freestyle rtf for Christmas. I love it but the one thing I wanted to upgrade was the goggles. Thanks man
David peter yea I can but after u get out 30 - 50 feet there is heavy breakup
Watched many of your vids, just subbed. Thanks for being the most detailed FPV drone channel. Keep it up!
I have not ever seen a better goggle review.Wow!Thank you.
can't wait to see your review of the Cobra!!
I got DJI googles for christmas but love to hear Joshua talk about googles 😀.
😳 damn thought I did good getting fc and esc
Welcome to da dark side brother
I love my hdo2 for the large FOV and clear screen. Eachine 800d are nice beginners or the occasional flier.. Top tiers are for those who are completely immersed in the hobby. At 5.97 km the image starts occasionally fading slightly with hdo2, Rapidfire, two directionals, 800mw vtx.
You didn't point out the service you get from Orqa (as you did for FS) but Orqa may not have many service centers, they let DHL express pick your device up and return them fixed in 1 week.
I literally bought my eachine ev300o yesterday this could've been so helpful
I still think you probably made a good choice. That's a great goggle! Make sure to update the firmware for the goggle and module if they are available!
@@JoshuaBardwell I sure do hope so
yep bought mine friday too
I have those and they're awesome lol
Sky04 is better than the eachine equivalent if you plan to use it with shark byte because it can actually display 720p and the eachine doesn't have enough pixels for 720p
I was lucky enough to buy the HDO2s from RR at $399 on Black Friday. I used the money I saved to get a TBS Fusion module! A nice upgrade from the FS V5. Work schedule and bad weather resulted in me not having flown with them yet. I hope tomorrow is the day!
What do modules do? My old goggles never had modules
Well... for $99 I freakin’ love my EV100’s.
If you're happy with them more power to you.
I'm just getting into FPV, and quadcopter flying in general, and have learned so much from your videos, thank you, and keep it up!
Here's what I've bought so far:
I managed to get my hands on an EV800D for $55 (Ali clearance sale) .
Skyzone cobra X should be interesting . May be my first goggle .
If you do not have goggles by now, you do not need them
@@ror-ys3qp I been only in RC air for half a year.
DB S welcome to FPV...best to find nearby FPV’r and try a goggle in real life for face fit and eye sight..a spec does not tell you all...very personal thing and also expensive....good luck.
What a great intro man. I'm looking into getting into FPV and this video helped me.
Was waiting for this video! Saved up and was like “lets wait for JBs video on goggles I could get”... and for DJIs V2 :P
Anyway, I thought it would al cost me around 800 max for the scout, controller, tinywhoop(to practise) and a 5inch, after a new look up for the cost, if I continue ( im now practising whit the whoop for over a year) I would somewhere end up in the 1100, more then calculated before hand...
i just bought this SKYZONE COBRA X.. 10/10 superb +.. it recommended my japanese friend.. really love it.. best quality and the price is not much..
Dear Joshua,
Thank you !
I'm flying a Eachine Novice II with DJI, a BDI digital adapter plate and a TBS Fusion..
I hope you do the Cobra X review quickly with my messed up eyes boxes are my only choice and these look very interesting.
Fantastic video, Joshua! Thanks a lot! 😃
I still can't buy anything for the hobby... But this is going to help a lot when I can! 😊
Happy new year! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Better save up on good goggles and radio and cut on the drone at first. You will probably not break those.
@@TheConfigurat0r I totally agree. And I have a few quads already, and X9D Plus SE and 2 box goggles. But I want to upgrade, of course. 😊
Thanks for being a subscriber MC! Take care of yourself.
@@JoshuaBardwell Thank you, Joshua! I will! 🖖😊
I bought my HDO2's today. They are on sale on Banggood for just 350€!!!
That’s a great deal.
It really sucks so now idk which drone I should get to start again its been 6 months and the brain fog is finally over with I thought I was going to be stuck like that forever but now I dont have much money cuz of course I lost my job and so I wanted to see if you'd recommend a drone under 250 I have an analog system
www.fpvknowitall.com/fpv-shopping-list-sub-250g-drones-and-parts/
Skyzone sky02c has both 16:9 or 4:3. I also just installed a rapid fire module on them as well.
I found Skyzone 03O goggles second hand in mint condition for 170 euros with 3 antenna's. Great deal I think. My first FPV Goggles!
NuBe here! Board Mavic 2 Pilot! Trying to decide between the DJI FPV vs one of the micros or minis.
Great Channel! Just want to say thx!
Best box goggles " Skyzone Cobra X " ... I love mine , Great goggles .
The ev200s are my jam . would recommend for sure .
I have had mine for almost 3 years with no issues. Still working fine. Also using the same quadversity modules they come with.
I mean you CAN get a 3rd party module into it. Getting a cover to fit is a little trickier.
I have the EV800DM and they are great for me but I'm ready to step up to the googles style. Probably go with the ev200's
Very interested in the attitude v6. Especially with sharkbyte. Dont wanna give my money to dji.
Worth mentioning FXT Viper aux input can be used with high quality external module, just like DJI goggles. The integrated Rx isn't very good.
I use 110% digital Google, but want to try antilog in the future. To incudes the bi plane and chopper for antilog.
I still fly with the EV200D since they came out and I really like them. Waiting for the DJI V2 (Whenever that happens) to be my next goggles.
He had a video of the v2s!
I am looking forward to your review of the Cobra-X. Seems a really interesting option form me: Not too expensive, great receiver quality and a decent DVR (acoording to Gal Kremer)
Did u end up buying it and liked it?
I just don't go out of my way to encourage people to get them.
happy new year Joshua. great videos. my go to to learn something. thanks for all you do.
I watched this hoping for more help deciding if I want to spend the money on DJI HD or some other goggles. I’ve had the Skyzone V1’s and the first O2’s. Not happy with the video reception on either. I got to fly a friends DJI system for a few packs and loved it!
I just bought a fat shark recon. I personally love them
Great to know I ordered the Recon today as well!
Great summary with all Details and points of views. 👍👍👍
BUT: You didn't mention the EV800DM.
I have got a FatShark teleporter v2 for over 6 years. I am upgrading to digital only ^^
I am new to fpv... Just getting started shopping for transmitter, and I also want to get the best affordable goggles, but I wear glasses as well..
Great video, but I think adding bit rate of the google DVR would be also nice.
It's in the spread sheet. Not the bit rate but the overall quality.
@@JoshuaBardwell Yes, but noone actually puts real numbers in the reviews :) They just say it's good or bad based on their feeling :) But it's fine. It's probably too much work to get the real values anyway.
Thank you Joshua from Italy, you are my fvp mentor 🤗
I Still use my eachine ev800 (moddet: whith dvr and high end Module)
becourse i dont like the normal Google style. I want to switch between fpv and los whithout taking my hands of the transmitter and also it was way cheaper. The range of the normal ev800 is more than
2km whith the original linear antenna and a 800mw vtx Set to 200mw (measured by GPS)
Thank you Josh for doing what you do. Much appreciated!
Hey, do you have one of these awesome breakdowns for Radio/TXs?? thanks for your work!
That's a really good idea for beginners...I was super confused, still am but went Radiomaster TX16 because someone told me to. It's hard to understand what protocals require what. Probably need a spreadsheet lol.
You're so damn candid and straightforward. I respect the shit out of that.
Considering the DJI fpv goggles and converting my Betafpv Twig XL analog quad. Not sure of the headache Factor?
I think you are better of with a EV800D(M) in that case.
I came I--I this close to buying the Orqa goggles... but then I saw they didn't fit the new HD module from fatshark. So I bought the HDO2s.
O Me! O Life! I am choosing between EV200D and Cobra X. Any suggestion?
