      mitch lippmann He peobably isn't that fluent in English. And probably a bit tense because of it.
      Besides, people in this sort of a work have their own sense of humour in Turkey.
      Not to mention the diffuculty of getting the jokes in a language you don't comprahend quick enough

      In Bosnian and Croatian "Guten Appetit" is "Prijatno" or "Dobar tek" lol. Don't know what it is in Greek though.

      The waiter was uncomfortable by the way Lucas maintains eye contact. It seems predatory. Like he's lookung at a piece of meat.

    Istanbul is a good restaurant but if you are still in London may I recommend trying Hala in Harringay Green Lanes. The only place that I know of that does not include doner meat in its mixed grill. Another dish worth trying is Sarma Beyti (lamb not chicken) . It's a pleasure watching your videos.

      herptyderpty It has a number of really good places to get Turkish food within short walking distance from one another. Prices are fairly low as well due to the competition.

      If you want original non commercial Turkish charcoal Kebab, go to either Umut 2000 (Dalston or Green Lanes), Durumcu Ali Baba (Enfield, Green St) This is where you will find original Turkish Kebab.. non of that commercial restaurants in Green Lanes most people who are not turkish would go to lol

    I have yet to find a Turkish restaurant like this anywhere on the west coast of the USA or Canada. Had this in London years ago and miss this type of Turkish food so much.

      rotitelor and much worse they sell Turkish doner kebab the original one as greek gyro or
      mexican taco el pastor lmao, in Europe Turks are very nationalists its nearly impossible to sell Doner kebab as gyro here escpecially in Germany, Belgium,Netherlands

    Rare meat might not be common in modern Turkish cuisine, but it was certainly a thing in older Turkic cuisine. Eating raw meat wasn't unheard of either.

    to all my eater friends, this "horizantal rotating lamb" of doner is a different kind of vertical rotating one (at 5:45) . Meat/fat ratio, spices and preperations are different. So nobody think this horizantal lamb kebab to put on vertical in Turkey. Video is awesome, i just wanted to put a information here with my poor English.

      Lucas was actually a huge fan of it, we just didn't have time to talk about it on camera! He was a bit on the fence with the Şalgam, he was surprised it was as salty and spicy as it was.

    I'd recommend Kervan Sofrasi in Wood Green. Probably the best Turkish food I've had in London. Or even 'Capital', which is a 2 minute walk from Kervan.

    I drove my missus up to birmingham recently to get some decent turkish food. There are great turkish eateries all over there. Would really recommend looking to birmingham if you don't want to pay london prices.

    Im Türkish but I like my meat done rare for like steaks and low connective tissue cuts but like cuts like kaburga (ribs) I like it well done because it builds a nice smokey charcoal flavor.

    wow u guys are going to some rough areas of london. dalston and brixton for example but its where the best food is. i reccomend going to a jamaican joint next episode.

      That’s a typical style of a place which we call “kebapci” in turkey.. those kind of restaurants are decorated in 80s probably lol.. but it is hard to see recently in Istanbul. They must find out how bad idea it was..

      susypeti Turks usually suck at it. Especcially in foreign countries where they can attract their own clients just with the food.
      I say it always, check out street food joints for example, the worst looking ones are usually turkish ones because they seriously don't get that the interesting designs attract people.
      And you know what, in Turkey, you really don't want to eat at a good looking joint that often. Because those who are focused on the ambience have inferior food.
      In Istanbul, best restaurants are usually plain and don't really catch the eye

    If Muslims did pork, it would have been one of the best pork dishes in the world. But hey, meat is meat and every culture and religion have their don'ts and I respect that. I just think that we missed out on a turkish-middle east pork which, again, would have been a huge-big deal. ✌️
