Huge thank you to The Dining Room at the House on Sathorn and Chef Fatih Tutak and Khun Fah for inviting me in to the restaurant to taste the incredible innovative Turkish food. Just to make it clear, I did not pay for this meal, but all opinions and thoughts in the video are my own.
The House on Sathorn - First of all, the House on Sathorn is one of the most beautiful preserved historical mansions in all of Bangkok, part of the W Hotel, and situated in the heart of the downtown financial district of Bangkok. It’s an amazing location and a gorgeous restored building that dates back to 1889. The Dining Room is the signature restaurant, which was listed as one of Asia’s 50 Best restaurants.
Chef Fatih Tutak - Eating at The Dining Room was a chance to meet and interact with the amazing head Chef Fatih Tutak, originally from Turkey, but with experience cooking in some of the most renowned restaurants in the world throughout Asia and Europe. He’s a fascinating chef, and as soon as you meet him, you’ll know that his knowledge of food and passion is what shines. He was quick to tell me, he doesn’t serve fusion food, but Innovative Turkish cuisine.
I ate their signature journey, a tasting omakase meal, all a progression of Turkish cuisine, but you could definitely tell the Chef used some Japanese techniques, included most notably in the presentation and sushi bar counter seating.
The combination of the unique and creatives dishes, plus the amazing atmosphere, and Chef Fatih Tutak explaining each dish and the story behind it, all added up to make it one of the most memorable fine dining meals I’ve had in Bangkok.
Innovative Turkish Cuisine, here’s our menu:
    Childhood Summers
    Zeytinya of Spring
    From My Mum
    Calamar Dolma
    Bosphorus Tandir
    Feast At The Harem
    Red Velvet
    Cheese Helva
Price - THB 3,400++ per person for this tasting menu (again, I didn’t pay)
Thank you again to The Dining Room at the House on Sathorn, Chef Fatih Tutak, Khun Fah, and all Staff for the amazing meal and service!

I'm so shocked this video doesn't have over a million views. Each dish was a piece of art! The chef is a true artist and is definitely in love with his craft!
Also he is such a humble person. Notice how at the very end when he is saying goodbye, he waits for them to finish climbing down the stairs and leave, before turning his back and go inside. Its a small thing, but I think its a true reflection of a man's character and education. God bless him and his restaurant.

Your İstanbul Turkish food videos are my absolutely favorite ones and when we visited last year, my husband and I made sure to go to all the restaurants you suggested.
We loved Turkey, monuments, nature and the food, we are going back to visit again the city and go to other parts of the country.
This video is wonderful because you included the chef’s comments and stories behind the dishes. That was PERFECT! We want to go there now just to eat at this restaurant.
Thanks Mark for inspiring us and seeing the family man in you is probably what makes you so genuine and we can relate to you.

You should go back to Turkey again! Your vlog series of Turkey, Istanbul was one of the best! It was really really fun to watch! But if you think about to go back again you should try to other cities in Turkey, such as Gaziantep, Urfa, Adana, Kahramanmaras, Mersin, etc. Those cities are more appropriate to find the best foods in Turkey! Also you can find the best Iskender Kebab in Bursa! And Best Kokorec in Izmir, but also Istanbul's kokorec is good enough! :D

Wow. I am Turkish. The chef transformed Turkish dishes and serving them as Japanese style. Turkish food is amazing but usually comes is very big portions. People overeat and forget where it comes from. Love what chef achieved here, he is giving the respect food deserves other than just feeding people.

Many thanks for the lovely video, Mark. Fatih you are such a creative Chef, I am so glad to see that you interpreted Turkish cuisine such an amazing way. So proud of you. After living in London for many years, I almost accepted the fact that only way of presenting Turkish cuisine is kebap but watching this video helped me to change my mind. I think you should come here and promote our kitchen as it deserves :) I hope one day I got a chance to meet you and taste your amazing dishes.

That was not the point of my comment. The point was that in most videos we only see Mark tasting. Of course Ying is also there, and she is also eating, but we don't get to see her and her reactions.
