Very nice gentleman. My dad was a clothing salesman for 46 years. It's not for everyone, I admire any good sales person. Sir, you do a great job and much success.
Well done. I am 75 and lived in Texas 45 years ago, when I first aspired to a situation in life when I could wear the LBJ hat, the Stetson Open Road. My time arrived when I reached age 50 and had achieved high administrator level in my organization. I now own about 20, almost all acquired between 10 and 20 years ago on eBay. Three-Forths are Open Roads, and the rest are accurate copies by other manufacturers as Resistol. I can tell you one thing-- the hat does connote a mysterious authority, when few men wear hats this formal. I think the idea of pitching this level of high quality and sophisticated hat to women of style and culture is genius. If you look at photos from the '30s, women wore fedora-type hats. The fedora was basically androgynous, and it still is.
Because they were pressed for time and he was more focused on finding a hat more suited to her head. The situation called for being selective on what kind of hats will have more info provided. they started with fedora so sadly the priority must be this hat in its back history, and even then it should be a brief abridged one. Not all of it will be provided. Don't expect a short skit on a news show to give an absolutely extensive educational course of all hats like it is a history channel. You ought to know this.
I get my hats from Rand’s in Billings, Montana where they put an old antique apparatus on your head to measure for the hat they are going to make for you. I’ve been doing that since 1988. This store looks great for ready made hats.
it would be cool if mens formal wear made a comeback. probably wont those because it doesn't go along with the feminist agenda of turning men into women.
Wow watched and was glad when they picked the winner, The Whippet. I just bought one but in mink. I only wish the store had more models of the Whippet.
Do they realize Stetson was born in Texas? They do have a single form from the initial plant in Longview, yes, and then get shaped at finishing shops like he said, but he failed to mention that the "supplier" he was discussing is the original plant in Longview Texas.
The first & original stetson factory was in Philidelphia. The company Stetson no longer exists but like Resistol & Dobbs (& many other brands) the hats are now made by Hatco in Garland, Texas. The Longview factory was built by Hatco in the 1950s which essentially made the raw hat bodies.
Pretty well done video, but we had a whole different approach to doing hats for Houston folks since 1915. I sold retail hats....way back... in Texas. Sam Like My Grandad. We were proud hatters.
The trick is that You wear the hat, don't let the HAT wear you. Put it on, exude confidence and be the BOSS you know you are. I have cowboy hats, fedoras, flat caps etc... The key is when you wear your hat, don't wear a "cowboy" shirt, cowboy boots, chaps, spurs, etc... Otherwise it makes it like you are wearing an "outfit" and not just wearing your hat like a boss.
Maybe check out Texas Hatters in Lockhart Tx..So many famous customers SRV, LBJ, John Wayne, Hank Willaims Jr, Lonesome Dove, made right there to fit your Mellon.
Sadly, _The Hat Barn,_ where I go for my Stetson, and Resistol hats, has shut their doors. Going to be tough finding a good fit when it isn't local, let alone someplace to rebloc, and repair them.
I bought one of those but in black. I love it. People compliment my hat a lot. Sadly I can only wear it in winter time here in Texas cause I sweat too much in summer time.
I think you'd very much appreciate a nice panama. They're light colored and somewhat airy with a bit wider brims so you really don't feel the heat on your head. Not to mention the toquilla straw can last for decades.
Its always the convincing ability of the seller , i see the buyers takes the same tone as sellers so win for both if seller is being honest here , when it comes to comfort no difference, the brand is known for that
I've worn those hats sence Jr high school to this day I'm 49 years old and have a few different styles over the year's not a HAT person but I told myself if I'm going to wear a HAT it's going to be a good one that stands out, NOT a baseball sport's hat like everyone wears. I have the Irish, paper boy style HAT'S to so when I go bald I have stylish HAT'S to wear.
If you're looking for a bespoke hat, get it at Optimo in Chicago. Dude only uses Fur Felt and the hats are superior. Last forever if you take care of them. Unfortunately, they're beyond my means, but if any of youse guys got the money and you like to wear hats...do yourself a favor and get an Optimo.
Bernie Yutz hats has close after 80 years. Because an owner of building from New York did not renew their lease l. 80 years! It's Seattle only hat store that has been at the same spot for 80 year. Why would do that. It's Seattle's Iconic hat store. I past the store once week and it's just an empty space now.

I live in Texas. I hate Texas. But I am always in awe of Western styles. For men, it says, "Alpha male." For women, well, jus' wanna know you baby. I call myself GFT. Genuine Faux Texan. I have a $6 Goodwill black felt hat, a high end Goodwill Western shirt, and a leather snap button leather Western vest I've owned many years. Add some Salvation army Wranglers, and $20 Goodwill boots, and I'm the Belle of the Ball. Male version. I've gone to Gruene (pronounced "green") hall in Gruene, Texas precovid. The oldest dance hall in TX. My age, early 70's. Women swarm me to dance with them. Five at one time. Twenty somethings flirting with me with their boyfriends standing along side. Yeah, life is good.
Very nice gentleman. My dad was a clothing salesman for 46 years. It's not for everyone, I admire any good sales person. Sir, you do a great job and much success.
I was clothing salesman and I could take a guy who came in looking like a bum and he left looking like George Clooney.
Just let the guy talk, damn it...
I was about to say this
I was just thinking that wtf
😭😭
"Mansplaining"
So true .was irritating
JJ Hats rock. I used to live nearby, having no idea of their famous reputation. Everyone in the store was so helpful, respectful, and kind!
This is not how to pick a hat, this is how the store guy picks hats for you.... i need a store like this.

I want a salesmen like that, for everything in my life
How can they talk about Stetson without mentioning their iconic Cowboy Hats ?
How could they do a story on JJ Hat Center and not show Kevin.
Because they were pressed for time and he was more focused on finding a hat more suited to her head. The situation called for being selective on what kind of hats will have more info provided. they started with fedora so sadly the priority must be this hat in its back history, and even then it should be a brief abridged one. I get my hats from Rand’s in Billings, Montana where they put an old antique apparatus on your head to measure for the hat they are going to make for you. I’ve been doing that since 1988.
This store looks great for ready made hats.

I’ve never interrupted anyone this much in my entire life, this broad loves the sound of her own voice more than doing her actual job
That guy needs a raise.
I love JJ’S hat shop.
I would like very much if men’s hats made a come back. I have to wear them because of my dome is flat.
I wear hats Daily. and I see men wearing suits and hats more and More :)
it would be cool if mens formal wear made a comeback. probably wont those because it doesn't go along with the feminist agenda of turning men into women.
DivinexDragoonxRising i’m in texas and wear boots everyday and when i need to have class I just throw on a blazer and it always looks good
Fedoras must really come back in style in a big way .... and stay in style.

Yep, she looks great in that last one!
Wow watched and was glad when they picked the winner, The Whippet. I just bought one but in mink. I only wish the store had more models of the Whippet.
عظيم جدا ان اري هذا الإنتاج.... لانها رمز القوة والنوعية الممتازة

Pretty well done video, but we had a whole different approach to doing hats for Houston folks since 1915. I sold retail hats....way back... in Texas. Sam Like My Grandad. We were proud hatters.
I'm in Houston Texas. Where can I buy some fedora's?
Whenever she turns and looks at the camera, she looks like a stroke victim.

The trick is that You wear the hat, don't let the HAT wear you. Put it on, exude confidence and be the BOSS you know you are. I have cowboy hats, fedoras, flat caps etc... I want a cowboy hat also. I have no need for one though. Maybe a fedora as well? Possibly something else too??
Maybe check out Texas Hatters in Lockhart Tx..So many famous customers SRV, LBJ, John Wayne, Hank Willaims Jr, Lonesome Dove, made right there to fit your Mellon.
What is the price for these? Hate to buy just one, cause I kind of see myself picking a few in different color options, depending on the clothes.
What an awesome store.
Great report.....now I want a hat.
Yes report, and I'll have to buy a straw because I saw that they use animal to make their hats. Yes I'm one of those tree hugging hippie types.
what hat is the guy wearing at 3:56?
Where is Kevin?
The best hat store on the planet is Paris Hats two blocks from the Alamo!
Sadly, _The Hat Barn,_ where I go for my Stetson, and Resistol hats, has shut their doors. Going to be tough finding a good fit when it isn't local, let alone someplace to rebloc, and repair them.

I need to go to this store
“A pie filled with pork.”

Think she could interrupt the guy more? Good Lord.
Terrible manners from this "REPORTER"
It won't happen at my age but if I were to go to N.Y. again I would defiantly go to this store.
I love Stetson.
And how do you clean your hat when it gets dirty?
I bought one of those but in black. I love it. People compliment my hat a lot. Sadly I can only wear it in winter time here in Texas cause I sweat too much in summer time.
I think you'd very much appreciate a nice panama. They're light colored and somewhat airy with a bit wider brims so you really don't feel the heat on your head. Not to mention the toquilla straw can last for decades.

Noticed no price was ever mentioned.
Old, bald fat man if you have to ask, you can't afford one.
Cheapos 200 bucks, 400 for middle of the road. And on up from there.
Does anyone knows what kind of Stetson cap the seller is wearing?
Stetson call it Hatteras. I have a hat shop and it's one of most popular for the people.
What it’s a flat cap

Yeah, life is good.
:58 That hat is not a Fedora, and he works in a hat store!
What about the homburg silly man... The KING of hats 😉
Let the man talk. I feel exhausted watching this.
raylan givens ?
She wears the porkpie the wrong way.
He needed to tell her not to use the pinch as a grip.
Very vintage T-shirt under his shirt !
Yep I think that is the best one on her
Couldn't finish the video, the lady interrupting the poor guy was grinding my gears hardcore
The gentleman was correct- butterscotch was best. 😂
If you want to look English, then try that first ivory hat at 3:55 on the top rack
Or the hat the guy is wearing, or the pork pie hat lol
Where the cowboy hats at?
Some people just really do not know how to listen.
