I don't agree with this but it is what it is. I hope they keep the Accelerated Advancement Program for those who finish 1st and 2nd in their A-School class. Allowing some to get E4 straight out of A-School. That's how I got E4 last year.
IMO 30 months to E-4 is way too long. I think the benefit is for the overly manned rates (HMs) but otherwise this is too long. You're making sub-fast food wages for almost 3 years. I hope they don't remove automatic E-4 advancements based on your rate.
MAP quotas will still exist and 4 year HNs will not longer get them given to them like they used to. If you get to the fleet as an E-3 with 6 months, you will have a competitive MAP window of about 1.5 years to be a hard charger, doubting they'd MAP someone between 2-2.5 years. You can also get an A-School advancement 6 months after you hit the fleet for top 10%.

Yeah there seems to be a lot of different opinions on it wherever i go
I’m a pact sailor. Our Nc has told us this does not effect us, we still get E4 automatically after striking a rate.
Yes, it looks like they put more info out that it aligns with TIS
So basically if you go in as an e3 you cant test out after 6 months anymore. you have to wait with the e1s to make e4 WITH those e1s?
So if you enlist to bootcamp as an E-1 you can’t rank up while at bootcamp anymore?
Good question!

There seems to be a lot of discourse about this. Especially on the my navy hr facebook post.

I’m 59 with 4 years prior service. Will you take me back? JK.
Thank you for your service!
What if you comr in as an E-4 (OSVET)?? How long would you have to wait to hit e5?
So I’m an SPACT and just made E3. Will I still leave my command this a E4 or will now have to wait additional year ?
Already saw they posted it last week
