Lost me at "I dont know..." =-) Thanks for the video. Will check back. Also, in your list of Raid class dynamics. You forgot Support. This game is Heals, Tank, DPS and Support =-)
There will and won't be a raid for every single node, afaik. Raids will be unlocked by a node when it reaches a specific level. This might be a lower level for a low-level raid or a big raid might only be unlocked by a metropolis. Not every node will unlock a specific raid and big raids might be alternates or blocked as long as an other raid is open. So you might have to destroy a metropolis first to be able to build another one at a location where it unlock a raid that you want to play.
Open world doesn't mean that a raid or dungeon isn't (sometimes) gated. You could generate a means or mechanism that locks or blocks, or guards the entrance to a raid once a party has entered. This would perhaps be something that is timed or be something PvE that needs to be defeated, before another party is admitted to compete with, or replace, the raid that is already in there. Or you could have some kind of token that needs to be obtained/bought (from the node owners? Attunement?), before access to the raid is given. I like the idea that end game content is hard and doesn't ever really go on "Farm". Earning a shot at the raid boss, should be something costly, to create a price for failure.
Artefacts are the highest grades, there isn't only 1 tank and 1 healer as secondary archetypes are said to change theses two classes the most. Tanks requirements won't be low as they have many purposes like raid protection, frontline and protection of flanks. You also forgot bards. You also talk about raid composition as if we are stuck with one 40men raid, but we aren't. We can bring the whole alliance of guilds if necessary and so multiple different raids that are allied. Then it's up to how leaders deal with their multiple raids that determines who wins and who loses. Every nodes can have raid bosses but it might be locked behind a certain level or story arc. The way loot drops is good in my opinion, i experienced both in Archeage and the version that takes in counts the tag AND damage dealt is the fairest to avoid griefing
Solid video. Small bit of feedback. Its pretty clear you are reading from a script of some sort. Maybe don't have the cam showing throughout the whole video. Like when you said you were going to sweat for a legendary show your face. But when you're just clearly reading just show gameplay. Force does this well. Thumbs up nonetheless.
Dkp systems are the best and fairest loot system and relies heavily on master looter system. You can’t have people getting something they didn’t earn, a good dkp system incentives raid attendance as well as persistent performance. You can’t have the issues you mentioned if points are not transferrable between characters/players, which they shouldn’t be. Of course the system requires a fair and honest player or groups of players to administer it too, and if your guild doesn’t have that you should notice quite quickly and can then leave the guild and let everyone else you meet know which results in a bad reputation after only a short time.
With loot tagging. Is it just to determine who gets the loot between different groups or is it also within groups? If it happens within groups, how do support and healer players ever get loot they want with that system?
From my understanding, it’s just between different groups and that your groups total damage will (and other things) will dictate which group gets the loot tag
If a competing guild is fighting a boss, don't try to out DPS them... just murder their Tanks or a few Healers. 8-10 Clerics?! One Cleric! I played a Healadin in WoW (before Ret. was useful). I worked, Hard. Make these lazy Gen-Whatever's learn the value of carpal-tunnel syndrome. My biggest concern for AoC is: will it cater only to the most powerful guilds. They'll have the numbers, the coordination, the housing and the equipment to possibly be unstoppable. Will small guilds even be able to participate in most "Endgame Elements"? Raids, Bosses, High-End Crafting, FreeHolds? We shall see...
That was my thought too. Considering that having a raid per node would be a bit unruly, it makes more sense that they would have multiple nodes feeding into a singular raid.
First of all, welcome. Looks like, you're thinking about focusing on AoC more in your channel. This is the first of your vids I watched. I like your positive vibe. It looks professional and sufficiently researched. Promising. Here's some uneducated and subjective, but hopefully constructive critique: Technical stuff: Nothing to complain here. I'm no expert, but it really looks like you know your stuff regarding presentation, editing, lighting, sound etc... Persona: Likeable and informative. Nothing unique that sticks out though. Content: While there's always a need for basic but up to date game mechanics content, there will always be someone nerdier, better informed, more entertaining and/or better in summarizing than you. Right now, just before the Hype/Hate explosion of the A2 launch, it will probably be OK, while you get a grip on your own scope/aims and attract a curious audience. Branding: The "Sponsor Add" looked good from a technical POI. Maybe a bit generic still, but a good foundation. A bit more customization towards a unique style and your good, imo. Specifically this bit though, I'd have to say, that it had way too many bad connotations. I hate adds and even the mention of one puts me in a bad vibe from the start. Then you talk about drugs, which I don't mind, but could put some people and then tell people, not to take drugs. Hmmmm. It wasn't bad, but didn't sync with me in any way, sorry. Overall it was a good vid, don't get me wrong. Like and subscribe from me. I'll keep an eye on you.
I appreciate the feedback! I've only been doing this for about 5 weeks at this point, so I'm definitely trying to find my balance between personality and being informative. Similar to ashes of creation, you could say this channel is a work in progress haha
It looks like an ok game, but the BS Mayor of each town is ridiculous that the Entire player base needs a Single person to be involved or it doesn't work. You wanna talk about Insane Raids.... go back and Play the Original EQ and try some dungeon runs in Lucid or even PoP or even Core EQ and you will be amazed at what you had to do and with no script but working together as a team. And with a P2P monthly sub, I don't think so. Wait.. it is Still not available to play for the masses. 10 years of development, get real man. And a Single mob in the Open World is NOT a RAID.
EQ was just smashing your face against a boss with a crap ton of players. The biggest challenge was all the dam players. There's more then a single outdoor, people already do mayorship type responsibility, they just don't use in game because it doesn't exist. You sound like you watched 2 videos, which is fine. Just wait until it comes out and chill TF out.
@@Fiddlez14 lol. I have been interested in this game when he was calling it a Battle Royale and really looking since all that Covid time came up. I hope he puts it out just so we can actually see it. There's nothing really New they are doing except for a Node/City upgrade change, which sounds interesting. I am All for the PvP side. We shall see. At best July 2025 release date or December 2025.....We can hope.
commenting to keep engagement up, great video keep it up sir! injecting ashes of creation coming soon copium straight into my veins
Thanks!! I appreciate you!!

Thanks!! Working on a new video right now :D

Well done :) I was curious on how raid loot priority would work and was too lazy to search myself. Thank you for feeding it to me
Happy to help!

The open world bosses will probably just spawn once a week.

I think there could be a handful of raids and duplicates could be assigned to multiple nodes.
That was my thought too. Considering that having a raid per node would be a bit unruly, it makes more sense that they would have multiple nodes feeding into a singular raid.

Best loot system? full random
Great video!
Subscribed due to the refreshing lack of clickbait and stupid songs
