You are a very brave man, Elliott. You watched a valuable collector car that you struggled to keep in perfect condition, get treated just like any piece of crap that some dealership somewhere picked up at some no-name auction site that used to be for individual car enthusiasts. Said site has now been taken over by resellers, so car enthusiasts must find somewhere else to shop.
@@tomrohlfs5538 I wouldn’t have thought that they would be there and I can see them doing competing bids with very little dollar increases between them. Make it look like no one wants to pay much for the car. That might’ve happened with Elliott’s Hellcat?? I don’t know that market at all and so many people have never driven a manual and many of today’s automatics are amazing and their manuals are decades old with clutches that take incredibly strong legs to drive in traffic.
@@mitchellbarnow1709 It may suck to go where it's going, but having the dealer there only caused the price to go UP. If they hadn't been there countering the bid of THE ONLY OTHER interested party, the bids would have stopped at an even LOWER price (the ~$40K mark before they started bidding). If they had been bidding the prices UP so that enthusiasts couldn't afford the cars, then it would be a valid complaint about having dealers there. Otherwise, all they do is bid the prices HIGHER. If the complaint is that the price is too low, having dealers on the site doesn't cause that to happen. That's just a result of having no other interested buyers at all willing to pay more than $43K. They don't have to "make it look like" no one wanted to pay more for the car. Anyone else could have bid. But they didn't. No one did want to pay more so the dealer got it.
