  • An unexpected critique leads to a rage-filled exit, a designer breaks down into an incoherent emotional rant, and someone takes Tim Gunn’s patience to the absolute edge. We may have come to "Project Runway" for the designs, but we’re really here for the awkward drama.

    In Swapnil's defense the model he was assigned was a complete B! She was the worst!

    • @TaDarling1
      @TaDarling1 7 месяцев назад +1

      True, but I think there was much more to that incident than Swapnil's assigned model being a B. Throughout that season there were several discussions on camera between Swapnil and other designers about him attempting to decrease his 'smoke time' to make better use of his time in the workroom. I wonder about what his 'smoke time' encompassed and if that was the reason he wasn't getting much accomplished in the workroom because his struggles seemed to start long before the challenge with the crew member model that was a B and Tim's anger and disappointment at Swapnil was very apparent when he asked Swapnil to clean up his space and then didn't embrace him as he typically does with other eliminated contestants.

    The fact that everyone lost their minds over the mild Kushner comment demonstrates how pathetically shallow and overly dramatic 95% of the fashion industry is. But we are all equally at fault for thriving off all this drama and tea 💅☕☕

      @@mwoods4608 she was trying to get out of the hole she made when she was misunderstood and started babbling. She was at least trying unlike some others that just lie to your face. I've seen this before to me it represents someone trying to do better but not knowing what to do. I feel like the effort is worth some kind of acknowledgement, but maybe everyone doesn't see it that way. They sure didn't. Now a person that was trying probably isn't so no one gained anything. JMO

    Simultaneously seems entirely predictable and completely shocking to see the individuals react as they did. It seems often there is misunderstanding and high level emotions attached to the tension stress of the experience, it also seems, through their best efforts to encourage one another to excel in their abilities/talents falls flat because of one can only suppose the roots of those misunderstandings. Unfortunate whenever an individual feels, finds themselves at the point of becoming so overwhelmed they storm off set. It happens. It happens on the singing shows, the talent shows, the auditions, it happens. A big surprising when the individual seems so 😎 cool, so chill as one who has a very easygoing personality but everyone has their moments of escalation in stress and at times might need to take some time to themselves. In some sense, it seems relatable. In another sense, it seems unfortunate. Talent and creativity, walking away, if only people were better equipped to get their awesomeness.

  • @texasjaco9385

    So you let these 4 judges make you feel inadequate and talentless, then question your entire career choice? They can't speak for everyone and just because they have a successful career in this industry, means nothing. Please don't forget they also have a team that rallys around them, that put in most of the work. To me most high fashion on runway shows, are ugly anyway. Most people would never step out of their homes wearing it. Because of how bizarre it looks and how it just doesn't make sense, with how it was created. Most of the designs that talk crap about, is the fashion that is relatable and wearable, out in the real world.
    The winners of this show really don't go on to have successful careers in the industry. The prize contracts are nothing more than a bogus joke, they're written in a ton of fine print, so they can be easily crawlfished out of. It's just like the bogus contract prizes, on America's next top model, and you end up being cursed if you're the winner.
    You go on to do nothing, that was promised and never taken seriously by the real people in the business. Go back and look at most ever designer that one this show, of where are they now. Most of them no longer design garments for the fashion industry, and have completely different career paths now.
    Not to mention some of the judges fashion ensemble choices, that they wear on the show. Have been questionable and make it seem as if that whole eye for fashion, they have a reputation for. Isn't always reliable and perfect, they have "what to wear" brain farts just like everyone else. The clothes that they have on during filming doesn't always scream good fashion sense!

    • @TaDarling1
      @TaDarling1 7 месяцев назад

      If any contestant is feeling inadequate after being critiqued, then that's on them. When you sign up for a 'competition' logic dictates that you must be aware that you are allowing the judges (whoever they may be) to determine, challenge by challenge, which designer's garments they like and which they don't. And as far as the prizes being bogus, the show isn't offering anyone a guaranteed career but rather is simply giving them the tools to help them jump start their career. It's what the winner does with the prizes that determines how successful a career they will have. And offering bogus prizes doesn't explain why so many contestants have opted to return to the show to go thru the process all over again.

      I think Gretchen was a master manipulator and instigator who would do her dirty deeds on the down low while feigning innocence, but IVY was the genuine bully of that season and she didn't even bother to hide her dirty deeds. The bold way that Ivy bullied Michael Costello in the workroom and also on the runway was appalling.

      You don’t know what it’s like to be on that show unless you’re part of the cast. Imagine being filmed for a very long period of time and having very little time to construct and finish the garments for the show. If anything, I commend the past contestants for going through this because it must’ve been draining in many ways.

    • @RLucas3000
      @RLucas3000 Год назад +5

      @@yunjisworld. I agree the show is not easy, in ways even most viewers don’t think about, like filming in the summer in Parsons with no air conditioning as that would drown out the camera mics. They might not have even had a/c in their apartments as filming was done there too. but other than the first season everyone should be aware. Know how to sew, know how to make patterns, practice with every unconventional material you can think of. Practice making a dress in two days. A dress in a day. In an hour. Have friends come up with CRAZY challenges. Have a clear voice. Practice not being a bitch if you naturally are on. Invite friends to give you harsh feedback. What can you do better? Take a shitty design and make it better in one hour. Have a swimsuit or two in your back pocket. Know how to make men’s pants, vest, jacket. Know the previous seasons inside and out. This is an insane opportunity, prepare insanely for it. Then accept that even with all that prep, you could still be the first one out.
