Mr Cool. Terry Hall went through it all, never smiling, always delivering. Lithium. It's a sad and not always beautiful life. I have the deepest respect for Mr Terry Hall. Thanks for listening.
Really sad to hear of Terry Hall passing, he was such a huge influence on us growing up in the UK in late 70s early 80s, be great to hear you play 'The Specials'. 👍
I was gutted to hear terry had passed. I loved the specials. I only seen them a few years ago here in Nottingham. Just before the pandemic. 2019 I think.🤔 Fun boy 3 was great too. I love, "our lips are sealed." RIP.🙏🏻
They did do backing vocals on the second Specials album, More Specials, but it's not them on this track, or in the video. The Fun Boy Three had an all-female backing group at this point, because Terry didn't like the macho atmosphere on all-male tours. The female voice doubling Hall's lead vocal in the chorus is the drummer June Miles-Kingston.
@@mongooz24 Bananarama were on the first FB3 album but this is from their second. This is Nicky Holland on keyboards and backing vocals, June Miles-Kingston on drums; Annie Whitehead on trombone, Ingrid Schroder banging the tambourine at the back, Caroline Lavelle on cello and Bethan Peters on bass.
It's okay but check out the cover by Foxes and Fossils which is on their RUclips channel. It's so well done (and live) that it sound like a studio production that took months to perfect.
The soon to be famous Bananarama were singing backup.

Very sad to hear about Terry Hall passing away. I’m from Coventry, Terry’s home town. This has always been one of my favourite songs.
Terry passing hit me hard, just loved his work, would love to see you guys cover The Specials and Fun Boy Three.
I always remember the moody nature of this cover, and actually liking it more than the GoGo’s version.

I prefer this version too.
Great song choice ... for an even more unique Fun Boy Three song, try “It Ain't What You Do It's The Way That You Do It (feat. Bananarama)" next!
Loved fun boy three ,so sad about Terry Hall passing a sad loss to music🥲xxx
I'd love you to do some of his work for The Specials, or even the Fun Boy 3 Version.
Terry Hall was a very cool man.
Check out The Lunatics Are Taking Over The Asylum.
is it a cover when he wrote it? prefer this version
Loved Terry - colourfield great too.
Wow, did not know about this! I've only ever heard The Go-Go's version: ruclips.net/video/r3kQlzOi27M/видео.html
Loved Fun Boy Three. I had a few of their vinyls.
Rad Fun Artist ❤️😎
The Go-Go's sang back up vocals on this. You can see them in the background in the video

@@140cabins thanks for the correction!
It’s the gals from Bananarama before they were on their own.

@@140cabinswonder if him not liking the all macho atmosphere on tour had something to do with his horrific experience as a child.
