I think with self sufficiency as the ultimate goal this lifestyle is a perfect way of achieving a much better way of life. Tipi/yurt dwellings are beautiful and ingenious architecture, and more accessible than your modern multi- million dollar Dallas palace.
There are cynics who would criticise these peoples' lifestyle and regard them as 'layabouts', but I think we can learn a lot from their gentle and simple way of being. It's a pity it is not possible for more of us.
Hardly "layabouts", Its a dawn to dark struggle to provide yourself with wood, water, food and warmth. It is a very tough existence. I was there myself thru 1984, Its not a soft option.
I'm pretty sure they aren't drug addicts like many of the City kids are, not to mention more respectful of other living things and beings, healthier,, smarter in ways that City kids are not, more independent, and just better Human beings...
