    In this video, we battle king tide waves while beach mining in SW Washington. You can learn our process for running Gold Cubes and finding gold in black sand on the Washington Coastline. This information will also apply to other beaches with similar deposits of placer gold. You will need an HPA permit, NPDES exception letter and the Washington Gold And Fish Pamphlet. You'll find links below for all of the resources you need. I also demonstrate how my homemade gold cube sand hopper works. Gold prospecting on the coast can present unforeseen hazards like sneaker waves. Never turn your back to the ocean and know your limits.

    I live near a Beach in Oregon and brother I see exactly what you are seeing.
    What's your best way to extract this beach gold?
    I see you using a couple of gold cubes so I would assume they work well for this type of deposit.
    There is a story of two old timers who found their fortune and glory from a beach now called Whiskey Run. They made history and the gold rush was on!

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  3 месяца назад

      Yes the gold cube is ideal for this type of gold. You aren't supposed to run a pump on the beach in Oregon though. You can gravity feed it in. Check out America's Back Yard Gold on Discovery. I helped run the cube in the Oregon beach segment. Also, check out PNW Prospecting on RUclips. Gannon set up the gravity feed.

    Snake sluice, make a sluice that flexes with the in and out wave, but catches gold, 0 hydraulics. It could be 3-d printed. Oregon needs that cause hey if you make it out of non-plastic you could sap beach nuggets.

    When digging down (at Cape D) I seem to always always hit water at around 3 feet. Do you just work through it? Also, do the black sand layers change after each storm or is it necessary to avoid previous diggings? A few days ago they had signs up saying the park would be closed Sep 24 through March 25.

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  8 месяцев назад +1

      It might depend on how close to the surf you're digging. Or the tide. We didn't hit any water in our hole. I haven't seen anything about a closure. Maybe it's just for camping or something?

      @@prospectingforadventure signs were posted in different places on both sides of road inside park. Park will be closed Sep 2024 through Mar 2025, hopefully its just for camping. I took this picture just after the big storm 2 weeks ago. Campsite B had been evacuated and was closed off, so I thought maybe it was for repairs, just a guess. Guess I can't post a picture.

    Question on the WDFA. I am at the application process and not sure what to put in some of the fields. I selected mineral prospecting and other than suction dredging. Put my name and other stuff. Single or Multiple private individuals. Then the authorized agent but I wasn't sure, same with property owners sections.
    Am I in the right spot? Can you assist with some wisdom/knowledge this old man doesn't yet have?
    I went to Treasure Trove yesterday and purchased some items so I can do some river work now. I know the WDFA is only required for beaches, but I figure, get everything I can now.
    Looking forward to going out these with some people.

      @@prospectingforadventure Yeah I was there yesterday, but we talked mostly about river stuff. I dropped 4 bills on basic stuff, and some paydirt to practice on. We did discuss the Gold Rush shows and why they didn't show beach mining, but that was about all we talked about that.
      I think I have submitted requests to join or already joined the groups in FaceBook, but I will check that one. I have a pan, classifier, snuff bottle, scoop, bucket, mini self contained sluice, pump, etc so I am virtually ready. I do need some rubber gear to keep from getting wet and too cold.

    • @mbraden66
      @mbraden66 8 месяцев назад

      @@prospectingforadventure Yeah, we talked about you, I let him know that's how I found out about his shop. I had planned on going last week but I thought I might have been coming down with pancreatitis so I didn't go. I only have one classifier, so will probably want on or two more, depending on rock sizes which are the most common. Obviously buckets, picks and other items. I'm hoping the paydirt bag gets my wife and daughter excited about it so they will want to join as well. Of course it means I might have to buy some more stuff, but what else you going to do with credit cards other than run up debt right?
      Last night I was looking for a battery pack with a 12v output and the ones I found I kept thinking they looked like something I had seen before and I had purchased one in 2020 for a telescope that I haven't had time to set up so repurposing it as a pump battery.
      I didn't get anything for cleaning bedrock or anything like that. I'd have to find some locations where the rivers have run before that other people haven't found, and that wouldn't be easy.

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for letting him know. I have quite a few bedrock style videos if you want to look into what tools I use. It doesn't take a lot to get started. It's easy to run up the CC being a prospector. Lol
