I like his classifying method. I would use a tarp to catch all the gold. A similar method is to use a tarp in a small creek. classify and wash at the top of the tarp and have the remaining 10 or 16 feet of tarp set up as your sluice (with rocks for riffles).

Skovian, I've always liked your videos and especially the last two! It's helpful to see the line and where you are digging. Maybe even line the shot up with the river, especially if there is a bend. Adding in some of the why this might be a good spot...Thanks for putting all these videos together!

I figured there were more qualified people to learn from than a kid like me. I'll have to start putting a little more effort into explaining why I dig where I dig and what I look for in my videos :) I had borrowed an inflatable backpack kayak once, but only to cross the river. I really wanna try it again though. Ive also been thinking about making a stand alone video just on what types of bedrock I look for and what types of bedrock I avoid, aswell as a beginner how to gold pan video

Seems to me you could do better by putting your classifier on top of a 5 gallon bucket and do a better job of collecting classified material . I'm betting you are losing a lot of fine gold since you are not using a vacumm pump to clean the bottom of your sump . Can you explain your decision to do it the way you are doing it ? You could even put your gold pan under your classifier if you think carrying a bucket around with you is too much trouble .
