Wow, I like watching you all and the excitement you get hunting for gold, I know the feeling as a Gold dredger myself for 16 yrs. Hitting it right now on the river, 4 or 5" dredge would be awesome in there. I have a backpack dredge 2.5" inch would be easy to pack in and out. That water has got some serious tannin color, reminds me of the south in the swamps of America. If you want to run a 6" dredge in the USA let me know, averaging 1/2 ozt a day, best was 1.5 ozt day. I love Mr. pocket when he shows up, and his friend nugget patch. Get that gold!

When I came over I couldn't afford to loose my snuffer so I attached it to a fluro tiedown strap. If I let go the hook on the end of the strap would serve as an anchor... It worked really well Loving seeing you both back hitting the river

Great content again @officialtassieboysprospecting, this forest looks so much like the Knysna area of South Africa, Millwood specifically, where there was a gold rush from the 1870s. I found a small nugget their totally by chance in a stream there about 20 years ago. Also beautiful temperate forests, part of the Garden route NP, about 300km east of where I live in South Africa.

Back when I lived in Tasmania and went on hikes, we used to buy Maggi dehydrated meals to carry with us. There was Beef stroganoff and chicken a la King. They were delicious, but they went off the market before I left Tassie in 2001
That native bush looks very much like New Zealand, with the tree ferns and similar trees. Myrtles belong to the Australian pre-Eucalyptus era and are very closely related to New Zealand trees. Western Australia has only one tiny pocket of pre-Eucalyptus Tingles right down in the south-west of the state.

Just wanted to say I really enjoy this show, I'm from Canada but spent a month traveling Tasmania, I see now what a opportunity that could have been. I wanted to be apart of the underwater logging at the time but still enjoy telling the story of when I had to fight off 3 devils in the night with a flip flop over a half a loaf bread and some leftover pasta in the back of my cruiser.

Vaseline or candle wax steel wool for fire packing in food is food and you need calories when you're in the water. That water is cold and calories in food is only cure. When you've spent a day in cold water it's a chore.
