Yooo I'm so hyped for Nuxanor Kingdom readthrough let's gooo. It's probably one of only 3 series I've actually cared enough to read/watch more than 600 chapters/episodes of.

Akame ga Kill did technically "move me"... Just it moved me into being incredibly skeptical whenever a piece of media suddenly starts giving out the entire life story of some character who's seemingly irrelevant to the over-arching plot. After watching Akame ga Kill my brain now instantly registers, "Oh, so you're just trying to trick me into caring when this person inevitably dies horrifically".
18:20 I absolutely get how you feel looks but remember one punch man is probably the most toxic fandom in the world and that series is amazing so try to stay away from the fandom before you start reading or watching anything.
5:07 I always found it confusing when they transplanted her organs into kanaki because normal human cutlery could not penetrate ghouls skin so how did they do this
The doctor who did the transplant knew about Rize and also experiments on ghouls on the regular. He was also likely part of the plan to capture Rize. He was being opportunistic and took the chance to also experiment on Kaneki. Edit: To add, this was supposed to be a clue for the readers that the doctor knew more than he let on. Like him brushing off Kaneki not eating food. In the manga, when Kaneki was captured by Jason, Tatara even told Kaneki that Kaneki was an idiot for not suspecting the doctor, and that the doctor obviously knew what he was doing.
I really enjoyed the anime, I mean, the second season didn’t explain things well and the third felt like it came completely out of nowhere. I’m currently reading the manga, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m pretty sure that in season 3 they insinuated that the doc that did the transplant knew that Kaneki was getting a ghoul’s organs and that he had wanted to experiment and see what happened. I don’t know, it’s been a long while.
Man now that nux mentioned kingdom, DAMN its good, I One chad in there stands right beside White Beard as one of my favorite characters, It isn't considered a master peace for its emotional resonance like most Shonen (comparing to One Piece and Naruto). It's strength is its sheer dedication to emersion, this has forever changed the way I look at and understand war. Now when I learn real history, I do so through the lens of the nuances I learned from reading Kingdom. Wars don't just start, an army of isn't created over night. Troops need to be recruited, those troops need food and water, camps need to be set up to house those troops. An army has a goal, to achieve that goal strategies needs to made. The right Commanders need to be chosen to execute those strategies. Some commanders are more independent and sometimes deviate from the plan, but are also great at handling unexpected situations. Some commanders have enough faith in their general that they would fight to the last man in a hopeless situation, because a piece that does not move as is ordered is worthless. I can go on about morale, information gathering and terrain and how that changes everything. And then there is still politics and power struggles, finding political backers and swinging the opposition to your side. Man, Kingdom is a master piece and quite unique, honestly worthy of study in history classes.
it is woth it there is so much amazing moments they cut and replaced like the part where kaneki train to use his kagune (I'm using this as an exemple because it doesn't spoil much and is relatively early on)
I lived when kaneki was with the ccg as it showed that both ghouls and humans are suffering in this fight and later on kanekis goal was to let ghouls and humans co-exist and the only way to achieve that is a common interest
14:05 demon slayer moved me. If I'd watched it at a different time, it probably wouldn't have had as big as an effect. That's why its top 3 anime for me. Along with Kiznaiver and Mob Psycho
I loved the akame ga kill manga when I was a teenager, but it did seem a bit rushed and needlessly violent, I still cried when luboc, bulot, and lione died
I don't know if true, but I heard it quoted by the creator of the manga, back after season tw... square root A (ok yeah that was bad) aired, was because the creator wanted to make an alternate timeline from the manga, an alternate ending an alternate route. No idea if true, just what I heard, but might explain why it was so vastly different, if someone could fact check that would be appreciated. Though because of that I didn't mind so much especially since the ending was... relatively similar, it still branched back into ending (again sort of won't spoil them for anyone who is interested in the manga especially, or the anime)... doesn't save season 3 for me though, or whatever it's called.
Edgyness is basically like the chuunibyo phase (“8th-graders disease”) of Japanese middle/high-schoolers. Yeah, it’s just being like over the top violent, brutal, shocking but most of all *overly dramatic.* But I feel like Tokyo Ghoul always gets that unfair treatment in that regard bc their manga panels just get changed and memed to death. But tbf the brooding, (grim)dark aesthetic doesn’t help it’s case either. Aesthetic-wise it feels very bleak, emo and depressing, but Story-wise it’s absolutely amazing. Unfortunately many people unjustly disregard the brilliant story underneath the vantablack layer of Edge, just because they think an edgy show can’t have a deep story, which is totally untrue. Also I like the Edgy look of Tokyo Ghoul so fucking fight me.
All right if I can find what I'm looking for I will link it in my own comment but if I remember the difference it's the Creator wanted to do something different for the anime that he did for the manga (I am looking for the source where I heard this from) Because he wrote another manga before Tokyo ghoul got really big I think it was a Tokyo ghoul one shot or something related to the Tokyo ghoul's world where that's where the anime mainly took focus from and not from the second part of his manga Again I could be wrong but I remember he is the reason for the difference in the manga and the manga he chose to change it
Okay for anyone who does click I did find out what I was talking about Root A he definitely wrote himself but we do not know if any of what he wanted to be in the show made it in but he did want it to be different from the Manga
Honestly, I love the manga even though I'm still working through it. I rarely read manga because somehow the pictures make it even harder for my brain to process?? Idk, I wasn't allowed to read many comic books let alone manga as a kid. The Hobbit was shoved down my throat in middle school if that means anything to you. But anyways back to the point. The art is superb and it punches me in the gut with all the emotions it somehow conveys, and this is coming from someone who scummages through the internet for the angsiest of fics just to feel something. I have seen some shit get me some bleach. But the thing is, it doesn't go for the shock value or the random tear jerkers like it could so easily do and did in the anime. It's drawn out and you don't quite realize it until you've stopped reading and are staring at either your screen or book blankly wondering where your soul went, even if you think you misplaced it long ago. The plot is actually rather complex, not in the way that you're shocked by how things go, but in the way that no character or action is truly ever forgotten. It all builds up. It's something I love about it. But anyway, my adhd brain is now spacing out and I do not really even know what I was saying, peace. The manga is great from just about any standpoint. Happy suffering and thanks for listening to my Ted Talk bye
What makes it worse is Re made absolutely no sense in the anime but the manga gave many reasons and explanations and a whole ass fight for why he became Haise
Steel gurders are ridiculously heavy and that wasn't what did here in because the clowns were there it's kinda like dropping a building on someone then camping right on top of them
still remember when the comments in the illegal websites i used to read the tokyo ghoul manga joked that everytime a character was about to die a goddamn heartwrenching flashback would show, great times. also ngl i think creatures that eat human meat are more efficent to creatures like vampires, i mean come on you eat the evidence, pretty helpful to me than sucking your prey like a grape and leaving the raisin behind. ⛔⚠️SPOILERS FOR TOKYO GHOUL⚠️⛔ one thing that i didnt like about the anime is how they changed the status of Rize, the ghoul that had her body parts used in Kanekis surgery. honestly its thanks to a comment under a episode of the anime that said something about her not being exactly dead that peaked my interest, thank you to that guy. honestly its been a long while since ive heard of tokyo ghoul so my knowledge on it is completely rusty, i mean that in a health hazard way, so thanks for the nostalgic trip!

Perhaps it might be worth investing in some sort of mocap setup, even just something basic like perhaps webcam-based, and one of those face performance capture helmets or something, to show your more extreme reactions?
To anyone who's still Skeptical about Tokyo Ghoul, obviously, I can't convince you to like something. If you don't like something then you don't like it. But let me say this. In the first season, they cut out a lot of character moments which help the characters feel more fleshed out, they also switched around the pacing which made the whole story just feel off. They also cut out moments which set up more important characters in the future specifically around the time Kaneki gets kidnapped. In Root A, they changed SO MUCH. Kaneki doesn't join Aoigiri in the Manga, he creates his own Group of Ghouls. In Root A, instead of having the fight in the Ghoul Prison, it takes place in Doctor Kano's lab, the same Doctor that transplanted Rize's Organs into Kaneki which is revealed he knew Rize was a Ghoul and wanted to try and create a Half-Ghoul. They completely skipped the final volume of the original series where Kaneki and Kisho Arima fight, and Kaneki is "killed", and has a flashback which sets up the Main Villain of Tokyo Ghoul:re, and reveals that EVERYTHING that happened to him and Rize was planned. This isn't even mentioning the fact that they cut everyone's backstories in half and basically paraphrased as well as cut the badass scene where Kaneki tortures Ayato. In Season 1 of :re, they cut out one major pieces of dialogue, shortened the fights, and cut out A LOT of important character moments which is sad because :re has the best characters in the series. (Kuki Urie, Kanae Von Rosewald, Tooru Mutsuki) It is also very important to note that Season 1&2 take place over 7 Volumes, and Season 1 of :re takes place over 6 Volumes. This was the shortest period in the manga and also one of the most important/confusing periods, and they STILL CUT OUT MAJOR PLOT POINTS. And in Season 2 of :re... After being unable to fit 6 Volumes into 12 episodes, they tried to fit 10 Volumes into 12 Episodes... That's all I have to say about the final season. TLDR: Anime COMPLETELY butchered the Adaptation and made it a lot more edgy/"Im14AndThisIsDeep" level of dogshit. I would also like to add, the sheer amount of character moments that are cut out are INSANE. I watched the anime first, whenever a character was about to die, it did that anime/trope thing where they show the backstory before the character dies, I could tell the anime was trying to make me sympathize with the character and obviously failed. But in the manga, the characters are all fleshed out insanely well, all have justified motivations, and all feel like they could be real people if we lived in the world of Tokyo Ghoul. It is a very mature/dark series, and EVERYONE has been through something traumatic, but that's because Tokyo Ghoul just takes place in a broken world. It gets to the point of well-written characters, that you're ROOTING for some of the people Kaneki is directly fighting because you want them to have a happy ending. The final 6 volumes or so of :re are pretty rushed due to Sui Ishida being insanely burnout which took a toll on their mental health and honestly should've taken a break, but the ending is still a very satisfying ending to the character's story. Most character's in Tokyo Ghoul don't have a happy ending, but you truly feel happy for those that do. I know I just sound like every other Manga reader that is tells you to read the Manga because it's "better", but I am being 100% serious and honest when I say wholeheartedly that it truly is. Tokyo Ghoul is one of the most popular Manga of all time and it is for a REASON. In TheAnimeMan's Top 100 Manga poll video that had thousands of people participating in, Tokyo Ghoul was ranked as #3 out of all Manga.
@@adampenbrook5751 But he is the protagonist so it's logical in most media that he will be in the series;) I think we can all agree that the three characters he mentioned are at the absolut least intriguing;) I really disliked Kukie in the beginning because he was just an ass to his teammates in most cases but he was really intriguing after the Roseincident. @@aaronhollermann9831 It’s actually surprising how common it is for the protagonist to not be the best or most popular character in their own series. Obviously they usually get the most focus, but that doesn’t always equate to being more interesting, well-written or popular. The three characters the other guy listed are all pretty decent, but I wouldn’t put them above Kaneki, Arima, Eto or Suzuya, and they’re all from the original manga (and RE as well, obviously).

Wow😂😂
5:07 I always found it confusing when they transplanted her organs into kanaki because normal human cutlery could not penetrate ghouls skin so how did they do this
Gravity crushed them with impact I guess.
I found it funny how that's quite a common question/criticism when that staff was explained right after S1, but √A completely cuts it out....
I don’t fully remember, but I’m sure the manga explained
Probably does in the manga
I don’t know, it’s been a long while.
yeap and you are forgetting, theres S3 actually the doc made tons of tests before and after kaneki
There are two wolves inside me.
It's Ghoulin' Time!
Get out the damn ghoul organs, Kaneki.
Rize didn't die in the accident though, she still alive but kidnapped after that accident
11:41 LMAO NOT THAT TIMING-
Man now that nux mentioned kingdom, DAMN its good, I One chad in there stands right beside White Beard as one of my favorite characters, It isn't considered a master peace for its emotional resonance like most Shonen (comparing to One Piece and Naruto).
How did they even cut into rize's body to take out the organs
Using quinque probably and let her heal enough to harvest her organ again.
it is woth it there is so much amazing moments they cut and replaced like the part where kaneki train to use his kagune (I'm using this as an exemple because it doesn't spoil much and is relatively early on)
Didn't expect nux to start reacting to Gigguk
I lived when kaneki was with the ccg as it showed that both ghouls and humans are suffering in this fight and later on kanekis goal was to let ghouls and humans co-exist and the only way to achieve that is a common interest
There are two wolf's Inside of me
I’ll admit Elfin Lied got me, even tho I thought the violence in it hindered the story-the music and some scenes was what kept me on
8:19... the Noble goal of eating children... being a fan of Lost Pause I completely was confused at 1st.
I do like the prequel manga slightly more but like its not very high in comparison to the usual stuff
9:35 there Is a clear and precise reason for that in the manga but obviously anyone who has not read It can't know
That moment when you find someone with the exact same opinion on Tokyo Ghoul
Alright, Nux. F.U. Akame Ga Kill is glorious, and yes, it damn well moved me!
Hey whats the background song at 0:54?
I rely on gigguk for for most of my anime/manga recommendations
the timing of Megalovania at 4:40 was insane :D
All right if I can find what I'm looking for I will link it in my own comment but if I remember the difference it's the Creator wanted to do something different for the anime that he did for the manga (I am looking for the source where I heard this from)
Because he wrote another manga before Tokyo ghoul got really big I think it was a Tokyo ghoul one shot or something related to the Tokyo ghoul's world where that's where the anime mainly took focus from and not from the second part of his manga
Again I could be wrong but I remember he is the reason for the difference in the manga and the manga he chose to change it
Okay for anyone who does click I did find out what I was talking about Root A he definitely wrote himself but we do not know if any of what he wanted to be in the show made it in but he did want it to be different from the Manga
Happy suffering and thanks for listening to my Ted Talk bye
you didn't read Vagabond yet?
The real shock of this video to me.
That thumbnail recolour go crazy
Kingdom slaps so hard and I'm only 50% through everything
ALL THE WEEBS (including me) HAVE ASSEMBLED XD
What makes it worse is Re made absolutely no sense in the anime but the manga gave many reasons and explanations and a whole ass fight for why he became Haise
"Imagine watching Naruto but Madara shows up after the Zabuza Arc"
Me who has never watched or read Tokyo Ghoul: "sheesh! it's THAT bad?? DAMN"
I hear quite a bit of the "Beastars" season 1 OST in that video.
Good choice. It's one of the greatest sound tracks in the entire history of anime.
I know that dude wasn't bad mouthing my man Alucard!
Nux who are you talking too, who are you friends with... Who the Hell relates with Kaneki being tortured
when the steel pillars fell on her it was planned, it was all planned the beams were made of the ghoul steel stuff cant spell it so i wont
⛔⚠️SPOILERS FOR TOKYO GHOUL⚠️⛔
one thing that i didnt like about the anime is how they changed the status of Rize, the ghoul that had her body parts used in Kanekis surgery. honestly its thanks to a comment under a episode of the anime that said something about her not being exactly dead that peaked my interest, thank you to that guy. honestly its been a long while since ive heard of tokyo ghoul so my knowledge on it is completely rusty, i mean that in a health hazard way, so thanks for the nostalgic trip!
Giguk: *likes Tokyo Ghoul for the plot, characters and themes*
Others: *likes Tokyo Ghoul for the edge*
Me: *likes Tokyo Ghoul cuz likes eating and having extra retractable limbs*
(Kuki Urie, Kanae Von Rosewald, Tooru Mutsuki)
It is also very important to note that Season 1&2 take place over 7 Volumes, and Season 1 of :re takes place over 6 Volumes.
Well said;)
Couldn't agree with you more..... Hopefully we get the brotherhood treatment for tokyo ghoul;)
@@aaronhollermann9831 Well said. Apart from the bit about RE having the best characters in the series. Kaneki is the best character in the series.
@@adampenbrook5751 But he is the protagonist so it's logical in most media that he will be in the series;) I think we can all agree that the three characters he mentioned are at the absolut least intriguing;)
I really disliked Kukie in the beginning because he was just an ass to his teammates in most cases but he was really intriguing after the Roseincident. I found Mutsuki the most disturbing one out of all of them in the end because the character went complete yandere in the later half of re
Hey, Nux you should totally read the Tokyo Ghoul manga because I don't relate to the torturing Kaneki scenes and just think they are awesome story moments.
You plan to read Kingdom and Vagabond? Excellent choices👌
Kingdom greatness
Ngl the first anime I watched after like years of not watching anime was Tokyo ghoul. And I thought that no anime can compare.
Until I watched konosuba
Tokyo Ghoul is still my favourite manga
I might read the manga at some point, normally I don't read manga if I enjoyed the anime because I can't be bothered but if the anime is bad even for an anime viewer where I hear the manga is better then that makes me more inclined to read it. I'm not as bothered by TG manga fans because I'm always surrounded by anime LN communities if that says anything.
The use of Bullet for my Valentine's "Tears Don't Fall" as emo music makes me wanna go emo...
a ghoul is literally half vampire half human so duh lol
Kingdom vagabond and blade of the immortal are definitely some of my favorite reads.
Tokyo Ghoul is arguably on the same level as Vagabond and Kingdom to me. Both in my top 10
