Yeah, but depending on how the dice rolls, it can even be insanely tough just to get the run off the ground. With one particular duo, they couldn't even get past the first gym in an entire four-hour stream because one of them had such terrible luck that they kept losing all their Pokemon for one reason or another in the starting routes.
I feel like he would be the person who would teach all of his Pokémon moves like Self Destruct, Explosion, Final Gambit, etc. just to give anxiety to the other person.

Since Nux was confused how Metal Burst killed Empoleon, I'll explain it for anyone who cares. Metal Burst is like Counter and Mirror Coat, except it only does 1.5× damage instead of 2× and it doesn't have negative priority to make sure the user goes last so the move will actually work. The upside is that it's a Steel move so there are no types that are immune to it like there are for Fighting and Psychic, plus it doesn't matter if the attack it's returning was physical or special, so there's less prediction involved and it's harder for your opponent to play around it once they know it's coming. Empoleon's typing doesn't matter because it automatically took 150% of whatever damage it did to Bastiodon.
Metal burst is a bitch to try & play around. The only way to completely avoid it is to ohko,but a lot of Metal Burst Pokémon have Sturdy, which really complicates things unless your Pokémon has Mold Breaker or is using a multi hit attack

@@kennethmorgan8795 yeah. I often just... forget about putting a grass type on my team, but I was thankfully able to avoid getting metal bursted by Byron's Bastiodon in BDSP because Rampardos has a disrespectful attack stat & got a lucky Razor Claw crit on a bulldoze
Today I learned that Metal Burst has two balancing downsides, not just one. I never thought about the issue of priority.

I'd like to think Palkia was the main antagonist in this whole Nuzlocke, and kept showing up throughout because of his mastery over Spacial powers. Becoming stronger with each defeat till reaching his peak against Jaiden in the finale!

This is my first time watching this guy's videos because it was in a reccomend, and god damn, his model is so good! Its expressive, they fit the character and it's so adorable. Definitely watching more
Metal Burst killed Plaap because Metal Burst is kinda like counter. Only it isn't guaranteed to go last, strikes with only 1.5x damage instead of 2x, but can counter both Physical AND Special attacks. Also, a Soul Link Nuzlocke sounds cool, but that type duplication clause would be annoying to deal with.
I believe metal burst works for both physical and special moves, but it doesn't have reduced priority like counter and mirror coat so the pokemon using it might go first and do nothing.
@@Bladehound83 Also it hits back for 1,5 received damage instead of 2.0 like Counter/Mirror Coat does. But yes, it works on both special and physical attacks.

Fun Fact: Heartgold is pretty much the superior version of the Johto remakes. Soulsilver players are locked out of getting the life orb until postgame and the game itself has some Diamond & Pearl syndrome where your only options for a decent fire type are either the starter or a quadruped that runs all over the place.

The Nuzlocke is not over till you beat Red on top of the tower with his lv 80-90 pokemon.
This is 10 months after the vid came out so it may go unnoticed, but a tip if you’re stuck against a Pokémon with snowcloak in hail. Bring out your own snow cloak Pokémon and spam blizzard. Blizzard bipasses the accuracy check in hail and you have the same evasion buff but theirs won’t matter

Although the big difference is it lacks the negative priority, unlike Counter and Mirror Coat, which guarantee you go second. While Metal Burst can fail if the opponent is slower or uses their own negative priority move.

For all the legendaries and strong ass mons that Jacob accidentally killed or caught, I think it's fair that Jaiden ended up with the best team with legendaries in the final team.
Let me put it this way. Metal Burst is like Counter and Mirror Coat for steel type pokemon. You got to watch out and know all the damage back moves in Pokemon.

Nux metal burst is like counter meaning it is unaffected by by effectiveness other than outright immunity I believe.
Yep, it's basically a weaker Counter and Mirror Coat in one, that procs on physical OR special attacks and deals 150% of the damage you take back on the attacker. It's also not guaranteed to go second, so you need to have it on a slower pokemon.
While Counter and Mirror Coat only reflect damage from physical and special attacks, respectively. They both deal back double damage, though.
Which is why I hate Wobbuffets with a burning passion, since it's one of the scariest and most obnoxious pokemon to run into during a Nuzlocke if you don't have a specific strategy to deal with them.
