I would like to know "IF" the F-22A was in stealth mode or were its corner reflectors out, to enhance its out to enhance its RCS or, was the F-22A limited in some aspect of its flight envelope? ROEs go a long way to even the competition between different fighter capabilities.
The combat exercise is in dogfight scenario and F-22 was carrying 2 drop tanks which severely limited its maneuverability and neutralized its stealth capabilities.
The USA basicly ties the pilots hands behind their backs in these war games. The F22 usually fly with external fuel tanks and armorments. That eliminate much of its stealth capabilities.
There were several activities during the last Australian military training and one exercises the PAF indeed excels and gain respects from other pilots, but the extent of combat with a light fighter plane philippines will still be at the disadvantage the skills of the PAF pilots may reach its end point as soon as the equipment fails to provide necessary air to air combat engagement. Pilot may be capable but aircraft in not capable. The need for advance modern MRF and Attack planes are necessary. FA 50 of philippines are build for training and small air defence only.

It's just history repeating itself. During WW2 Col. Jesus Villamor's squadron of old P26 Peashooter outwitted and out maneuvered the formidable and more agile Japanese zeros. And recently at Darwin Australia The PAF's FA50 scored 10 kills vs the more technologically advance RTAF's Jas 39 Gripen C who scored 7 kills in their mock dogfight. No doubt It's the PILOT not the air craft. The Air Force pilots are trained in a dilapidated propeller driven aircraft and in an old Italian S211 jet trainer and yet they've excelled. Kudos to PAF and its Filipino fighter pilots!😊
DOn't kid yourself, in a real fight they FA50 wouldn't even see the F22 raptor coming. This exercise was conducted with a huge handicap that is why the FA50 scored a kill and the chances of that happening in real life is next to zero, I'm Filipino by the way. Let's keep it real.

I am not too familiar with this FA-50 but FA means ´fighter + attack´ aircraft. This is not a training jet as most people perceive due to their negative perspective of the PH government as inefficient. The AFP modernization began during PNoy. In fairness, this was the first time we acquired brand new equipment. Before that, we relied on second hand from the US. In fairness, it is believable since we were already a rich country by the time Arroyo stepped down in 2010 and had a lot of budget compared to her predecessors after Diosdado Macapagal. Anyway, I have yet to watch or read more on this FA-50. FA stands for fighter plus attack aircraft. This is not just a trainer jet.
You know, the F-22 Raptor just plays it easy. If they always win, nobody will want to play with them again. 🤣 “It's not the plane, it's the pilot.” - Maverick- “It's not the plane, it's the pilot and the plane” -Sun Tzu, The Art of War (probably) But let's be honest, a great pilot with a powerful plane is nearly unbeatable. It takes a perfect balance of skill and technology. At the end of the day, it's all about using every advantage to its fullest.
Fortunately we don't let idiots fly our modern fighters. So regardless of the situation, anyone going up against any of our fighters are to have their hands more than full. And I don't envy their odds of success.
China wouldn't worry at all in terms of technology. They might be worried in an actual face to face - soldier to soldier bullets fight, they know us pinoy even civilians will not back down. But technology, No.. Not A Chance. Give us 20 more years with good governance and continues military upgrade, we will be spicy for anyone to face with. 😂
The Rafale did this too. And there is gun camera footage of that on youtube. In fact the Rafale got the f22 multiple times on its gunsight until he was told to call it off.
Yup we can dream no problem with that...if the FA-50 managed to sneak through up to gun range but this is highly unlikely due to the multi-layered detection accompanying a strike force
I'm Filipino and reading some comments I think some misunderstood what this means. The f22 is a better air superiority fighter than the fa50. The exercise just showed that a Filipino pilot has been trained well enough to win a dogfight. It's not about the plane but what the future possibilities there are for Filipino pilots and their training. The f22 was designed to win (BVR) even before the enemy has begun to fight. On that note: China versus US war simulations have shown that China can dominate the skies however I doubt that those simulations account for BVR capabilities of US aircrafts and US stealths true capabilities
In an apples to apples combat where both aircraft are the same, skills and dexterity matters. As this video content have shown. Kudos to the Filipino Pilot!
Never underestimate Filipino fighter pilots. They are the elite of the elites. They are graduates of military academies who are the topnotchers in their batch. They witnessed real ground combat and very strict procedure in order to qualify as pilots. They are even sent to Topgun or other military acadamies of countrues who are Philippine allies. If you think other fighter pilots from other countries are on their level, think again. Due to only a number of military aircraft, the Philippine Department of National Defense focuses on quality rather than quantity. I would sell my soul to even claim that some of them are even more intelligent than Filipino generals.
I'll grant that some of them know more than Philippino generals. That's not much of a recommendation with me. But there is no way these Philippino pilots are the best in the world. Not to be disrespectful. But the US and the major NATO countries have taken planes onto the battlefield for over a century. And they have been improving the training their pilots get throughout that century. And their programs consist of the older more experienced pilots teaching the younger pilots. The Phillippino Air Force doesn't have a generation of older pilots to train the new pilots. Because all they have right now are new pilots. The Phillipino pilots are just getting started. If they were the best they would be the ones teaching us, not vice verse.
I Heard that Filipino pilots FA50 score 8 out of ten against this grepin of Thailand which the Thailand grepin is more capable and advance MRF grepin against FA50 of Filipino
To be fair, dogfighting with external tanks on isn't the way the Raptor would fight in a real world scenario. The FA-50 is a wonderful Korean trainer converted to short range fighter but in a real scenario it would be spotted long before the FA could "see" electronically. A missile is all it would take. The Griphen is the true dogfighting ace when all things are equal.
To put it in perspective, imagine the PBA players defeating NBA stars because the Americans were restricted from running or jumping. The only exercises I’ve been involved in that came close to showcasing the full range of U.S. air power were Red Flag at Nellis and a NATO exercise in Sardinia, Italy.
Its just show that the pilot of PAF has also capable to shutdown F22 if they are handling more capble jets like F21, Rafale, SU35 or mig41 or even SU57.
F22s have situational awareness capabilities and designed for EWs. Dogfights will never happen as the FA 50 will be eliminated long before it realizes what's going.
Sometimes a faster fighter jet will not be able to make a quick turn, the FA-50 is still a fast warplane that can make the turns and fire the missile. It can carry the missiles and bombs to do the job at a more affordable price.
Alright, time to set the record straight. This was at the end of war games scenario and the Raptor was literally not involved in mock air to air engagement at all. The Phillipines A.F pilot just got behind the F22 and made it look like they had defeated it in an air to air engagement. This is the most hyped up fantasy of what someone wants to be true I've ever seen when it comes to air to air combat. And yeah, I'm including the F14 Vs SU57 dogfight in the movie Maverick.
Even it is just a training exercised it means our Filipino pilot can still cope up w/ other countries pilot using a low end fighter jet, give us the same jet, don't let our Filipino pilot have F22 or else no one in the world can stop us...real talk!
There might be a lot info missing.... I agree with most of the comments... US will not show its capabilities in a regular excercise... it might be a false hope.
Bet the F22 had its transponder on or something on its external pylon, so it would show on the radars because of air traffic. Also the U.S. military tends to lose training exercises because they learn more from that then winning.
🔴⚪️🔵 Some EGOS are hurt here,….training or not, someone scored a KILL on the F-22 (sky’s top dog) has never been done before,….until Filipino pilot in a FA-50PH.,….i believe it was in TOPGUN’s Maverick movie, the famous quote “it’s not the plane, it’s the pilot”. nice, Lol
Some fighter planes can beat the F-22 in a dog fight, but it’s typically circumstantial. The F-22 Pilot has to make some errors, and say for example a F-16 Pilot can capitalize upon those mistakes placing the F-16 Fighter Pilot in a position to take it out. In modern air to air battles we aren’t dealing with one circle, and two circle dog fights but rather BVR battles. The stealth fighter jets are designed to get in closer to enemy targets without detection, and fire their missiles at ranges of upwards of 80 miles away, and then return back to base basically. While the F-22 is a highly maneuverable aircraft in a dogfight, it and the F-35 are really more designed for BVR ( Beyond Visual Range ), as well as a part of a weapons system that consists of other air assets, ground based assets, space assets, and Naval assets as part of a much larger weapons platform. They aren’t particularly used in individual solo missions these days, but are usually used as an asset as part of a larger strategy against enemy targets in warfare. Even F-16s, and F-A/18s are equipped with up to date avionics, radars, and smart weapons as a part of this larger weapons system. These days you won’t really see “ Top Gun “ style dog fights like in the past in modern warfare. AI however is on the rise, and will likely be replacing human pilots with more advanced drone fighters. If you look into Red Flag 🚩 which is basically “ Top Gun “ it’s not like you see in the movies. A.I. is already proving to be effective in testing with the U.S. Air Force. ruclips.net/video/bAC1kzuCf24/видео.htmlsi=jH2cGTJBj5RQBbZz
It's a training exercise for us pinoy how to dogfight. Come on people, not because it was hit in a training exercise it doesn't mean it will allow itself to be vulnerable on an actual fight. Our Fa50 has no chance of getting close to that raptor but for the sake of training exercises, it allows the Fa50 to get closer.

Locking on F22 and sending it are two different things. Learn from the latest Top Gun movie, it is a dog fight not only of skills but also of technologies
The F-22 is NOT a fighter aircraft. It is a high speed interceptor with the highest level of stealth capability today on any interceptor aircraft. I could go into more detail on the ways the 22 was not made for dog fighting, but that's not for me to say. But this video does have it correct on how it kills from great distances and has no reason to be involved with a dog fights. And if it came down to a fight by radar acquisition, , the FA-50 would never see the 22 coming.
This is a dogfight, and F-22s as a stealth fighter is designed for out-of-sight operations. You normally would only see the high-speed air-to-air missile coming at you before you can see the F-22. Secondly, the USAF would not demonstrate their top gun dogfight maneuvers in public. On the other hand, due respect should be given the Filipino pilot for the achievement, however limited the simulation may be.
It would really mean something. 2 jet enthusiasts me for one if it wasn't simulated, simulated and being out there. Really in the sky are 2 completely different things. That doesn't have no relevance, unless it's real
No way. It was likely a massive disadvantage for the F-22, like external fuel tanks, no electronic warfare suites active, knowing on the radar where the F-22 is, etc. These planes wouldn't know anything until they started hearing missile lock tone. I don't care what anyone says.
It was a scripted fight where F22 should lose and FA50 wins. This is to boost morale of Filipino pilots and encouraged Filipino pilots to take dogfighting seriously. What happens if Indian mig21 has a dogfight with FA50? Indian mig21 will surely win.
The only reason they got that lock. The F22 let them. 😂 To boost their moral more than anything. If they were exposed to the F22's full abilities, they would never sit in a jet again.😂😂😂😂

@@fionajarnefeldt1024 It's not just for keeping capabilities a secret. It's U.S. military training doctrine. It doesn't matter if it's equipment, vehicles or troops. Whenever we train with or against other nations, we always put ourselves at a disadvantage to learn as much as possible.
F-22를 초전박살 내고싶으면 FA-50을 사라
김정은
truth - no fighter pilots would display their skills in mock exercise....
Are you a pilot as well?
Yeah so true. What more if the FA-50 pilot diaplay their skills.
FA 50 of philippines are build for training and small air defence only.
it should be noted that in real life, a radar lock does not mean an automatic kill.
I think you've been watching too many airplane movies and putting way too much stock into what you see in the movie.
It’s not the plane, it’s the pilot -Maverick
It's actually a combination of both.
We have to take note that it is training.... and in training you will be able to see those who have talents and skills... Our pilots seems evolving from newvy pilot to skillfull and combat ready pilot. We still need more advance jet into our arsenal to keep our pilot keep improving and to show their true potentials
now let a PAF pilot fly the F-22 and the USAF pilot fly the FA-50, and repeat the exercise, using the same parameters of the previous exercise...
Why will they do that? The F-22 is banned for export. Even the UK, France, Germany, Canada, Israel, Australia and Japan cannot obtain the F-22, so what more Philippines? Those countries are more important than the Philippines.
@@fionajarnefeldt1024 Philippines is more important than those countries you mentioned, the Pacific is open sea which the largest ocean in the world if the Philippines got conquered by china then china can dominate the Pacific and usa can't protect it's territory like Guam, hawai, and other territory, your just dumb as fuck, Philippines sits in heart of the Pacific which america should protect as on its own, that's a strategic position which us can't afford to loose, besides Taiwan is America's life line without Taiwan no chips for America, your jets, messiles, cars, phones, computers and all of the hightech gadgets uses Taiwan made micro chips sink that to your brain

"Americans sucks in fighting without their precious machine"
How many Americans have you fought in an actual war?
I agree why they switch f22 for pinoy pilot and American pilot f50 well see what is good pilot technique

“It's not the plane, it's the pilot.”
- Maverick-
“It's not the plane, it's the pilot and the plane”
-Sun Tzu, The Art of War (probably)
But let's be honest, a great pilot with a powerful plane is nearly unbeatable.
The US wants China to worry about Philippines technology.
Ahahaha you're kidding right? I'm a Filipino 🤣🤪
Nice comments. Thank you USA. Simple. We are being trained by the best pilots.💪🏾❤️🤙🏾
What matters is the operator, & not the machine.
Not all things that glitters are gold 😂😂😂
It's amazing how a 20-year-old fighter jet is still feared.
Every fourth and fifth generation aircraft in the US arsenal is over 20 years old.
The Rafale did this too. And there is gun camera footage of that on youtube. In fact the Rafale got the f22 multiple times on its gunsight until he was told to call it off.
its because the F-22 was forced to dogfight half of its capabilities turned off.its like a handicap match.RESEARCH.
its not all about how hitech it is . its all about tactics
Yup we can dream no problem with that...if the FA-50 managed to sneak through up to gun range but this is highly unlikely due to the multi-layered detection accompanying a strike force
Luck was given by this filipino.or his Knowledge.
Agree.
Malupet. Very good PAF. Sana dumami pa mga magagaling na piloto sa inyo. More power to PAF.
I Heard that Filipino pilots FA50 score 8 out of ten against this grepin of Thailand which the Thailand grepin is more capable and advance MRF grepin against FA50 of Filipino
It's Not the Plane, It's the Pilot--- maVERICK
Blame the content creator who made this catchy title. Filipinos are making a comeback.. Keep it up!!
Malayasian SU27 got them too during war game couple of years ago.
Im Filipino but we are not pounding our chest about it. They're clearly holding back
Its not about the Plane its about the Pilot
Top Gun Maverick
Sometimes a faster fighter jet will not be able to make a quick turn, the FA-50 is still a fast warplane that can make the turns and fire the missile. It can carry the missiles and bombs to do the job at a more affordable price.
You’re kidding yourself if even has a chance against an F22
LOL. The F-22 can fly donuts around anything. The F-22 cannot be matched by any known or projected fighter aircraft.
Key word. Disadvantage !
What celebration?
The FA-50 Golden Eagle has literally ZERO chance vs the F-22 Raptor. In regard to avionics, weapons, speed, manoeuvrability.
Letting the T-50 fight an F-22 is like putting a kid against Mike Tyson 💀
Even it is just a training exercised it means our Filipino pilot can still cope up w/ other countries pilot using a low end fighter jet, give us the same jet, don't let our Filipino pilot have F22 or else no one in the world can stop us...real talk!
Real fight and advanced avionics, F22 👑, fly by wire and pure skill(luck) Filipino pilots😎
It's an exercise wherein the playing field was evened and the F-22s can't use their stealth.
Its like F22 winning a dogfight against an alien spacecraft, anyway salute to our pilots, exceptional skills can sometimes overcome technology..
wehh?
its not the plane, its the pilot😂😂😂😂😂
There might be a lot info missing.... I agree with most of the comments... US will not show its capabilities in a regular excercise... it might be a false hope.
Haysst ang dapat nyong pag handaan ay ang pag babalik ng panginoon nde yong gyera dhil sya ang huhusga sa lahat..
Beyond visual range
THANK YOU USA FOR TEACHING OUR FILIPINO PILOT REMEMBER THIS WE FILIPINO WHEN SOMEBODY TEACH US WE TRY OUR VERY BEST TO GET AND MAKE THE BEST TO LEARN 😂😂😂❤❤❤SALUTE TO ALL THE PILOTS
Then give both F22 and see which pilot is dominant
Locking on F22 and sending it are two different things. Learn from the latest Top Gun movie, it is a dog fight not only of skills but also of technologies
The best pilot are from Capiz Air Force flying the Walis Ting Ting multi role fighter 😄😆😀
Even in that dogfight, the F-22 is still at a disadvantage with the F-22 which was "shot down" having two drop tanks during the exercise.
Nah. It was a training where F-22 Raptor pilots fly like they are Chinese aircraft opposing FA-50PH.
It would really mean something. 2 jet enthusiasts me for one if it wasn't simulated, simulated and being out there. Really in the sky are 2 completely different things. That doesn't have no relevance, unless it's real
It's a training exercises ,so obviously it's not about the plane but the pilot skills..
No way. It was likely a massive disadvantage for the F-22, like external fuel tanks, no electronic warfare suites active, knowing on the radar where the F-22 is, etc. These planes wouldn't know anything until they started hearing missile lock tone. I don't care what anyone says.
Good marketing strategy for Korea to sell more fa50 to the world. It still need to test it against other fighter jets.
Keep in mind the raptor would be engaging far beyond visual contact and the FA-50 wouldn't be able to do a thing.
F22 is not for a dogfight cause it doesn't need to
Good job FA-50 pilot, even though they gave the F-22 a handicapped
"its not the plane, its SUPERMAN" - MARVEL SUPER HEROES DC comics
The statement sounds like the FA-50 is better. It said one FA-50 shot one F-22 down.
Folks, its "Dog Fight" dont be butthurt with this. Plus its pilots skills to be appreciated not the aircraft.
⚠️Pilots skills matters.
It was a scripted fight where F22 should lose and FA50 wins. This is to boost morale of Filipino pilots and encouraged Filipino pilots to take dogfighting seriously. What happens if Indian mig21 has a dogfight with FA50? Indian mig21 will surely win.
So do you mean Filipino pilots take dogfighting a joke ??Seriously??ur so punny ...lab yu long time...Haiiiyaaaahhh😂😂
Where did he hide weapon
The F22 doesn't have the radar on. Come on.
The simulated dogfight is eye to eye, without using stealth. Of course if the F22 used the stealth technology the FA50 is no match the F22.
Its the pilot technic and skills not the warplane!!!
Description is funny AF
The only reason they got that lock. The F22 let them. 😂 To boost their moral more than anything.
If they were exposed to the F22's full abilities, they would never sit in a jet again.😂😂😂😂
Im a Filipino am proud of our pilots .i know they are one of the best.
F22 AND FA50 ON EXERCISES.
Its not an actual combat.
They are trying to undermine the F22 remember its only combat exercise but in true actual combat f22 still F22

Wow! You saw an F-22 from 50 feet away! Amazing. You are by far the beat fighter piolet in the best fighter jet in the world. Only one thing, that F-22 saw you over 200 miles ago. And flew right up and under you before you happened to look to your left as he waved at you. I'm sure Tom Cruise is getting ready to play you in his next film.😂
@ 2:57 is everything you need to know to understand how meaningless these "_____" beats the F-22 nonsense headlines are. The goal is to teach foreign allies how to fight potential 5th Gen adversary. If the conditions presented in practice cannot be achieved, then do not engage, but if you happen to get the chance to create those favorable conditions, here is how you win the engagement.
Not another training kill video. It’s irrelevant unless you also explain the rules of engagement and the training scenario.
It's just for close target
Its depends on the pilot not that metal flying birds,,
