Nothing to brag about. Poland's purchase of the FA-50 was a political decision dictated solely by propaganda. The ruling party wanted to have nice photos with new planes in the background before the upcoming elections.
When South Korea started to develop T-50, there's argument about being too expensive and over spec for trainer. But now it found niche market which need low priced F-16ish fighter.
@@uribury871 it has the same engine as F-16 and some minor parts and the same service tools. Here the similarity ends. FA50 can be a bomber plane and support plane if F-16 shoots down everything whats is hostile and fly around. If you want something like F-16 - buy F-16
This is a humble but worth-the-money airplane. In process is the upgrade for the AESA radar and medium-range A2A missiles (Meteor and AIM-120) and the price is going up. But still the hourly operating cost is well under 10,000 USD. (several thousand dollars). Good for patrol and Close Air Support where you have the air defense systems (in a NOT-contested airspace). One interesting info about the maximum speed. It is 1,837 km/h. And Koreans say it is Mach 1.5. This means they have divided the at-altitude (typically 50,000 feet) speed with at-sea-level sound speed(340 m/s), making the Mach number lower. The US or Europe calculates the Mach number of the maximum speed by dividing the max speed at altitude with the at-altitude sound speed(around 280 m/s). If you calculate the max speed of FA-50 by the 'normal way', it is Mach 1.83, not Mach 1.50. These Korean guys like to play low-profile. Perhaps because they do not want to look 'too aggressive' toward China. Same with KF-21 Boramae. The max speed is 2,234 km/h. Koreans say it is Mach 1.8. But if you divide by the at-altitude sound speed, the Mach number becomes 2.22. Quite fast. Enough for a powerful interceptor. I suspect this 'number-lowering game' is happening with regard to the max takeoff weight, too. As for the US fighters, they say that the real MTOW is just above 80% of the brochure number. But with Korean fighters, (FA-50 and KF-21. The latter is undergoing 2,000 test flights) the brochure number is the real one. 6 ton internal fuel and 7.7 ton armaments simultaneously, (totaling about 13.7 tons) for KF-21. Let us see how far they can go.. (I happen to be a Korean.^^)
Modern air combat of today and the future more relies more on stealth, ESM, ECM, networking, future drone escorts, situational awareness and all connected into the weapon system, helmet and glass cockpit. Kinematics are getting a little less influential today combat. If the fighter is not stealth, the fighter needs extensive ESM, ECM just to survive, like being escorted by aircraft like the EA-18G Growler to carry out electronic warfare and SEAD.
No just don't expect to do well against Chinese stealth & 5th gen or invest in extensive dedicated electronic attack and SEAD aircraft to even out the balance. Red flag has shown the F-35 dominates on most sorties even with minimum experience, the current ratio is 7 to 1. It is not the early 2000s anymore the air combat game has changed considerably.@@bangmo7
This Korea fighter 21 , ground strike and combat aircraft different, is very capable effective , using U.S.A made weapons. South Korea also has made Navy destroyer.
This is certainly an excellent plane, but why call it "the most powerful fighter in existence"? You know full well that's ridiculous. I'm beginning to question whether following this channel makes sense. EDIT: They keep changing the title. The oroginal I complained about was "The cheapest yet most powerful fighter in existence", which in my - certainly flawed - understanding of English means: The cheapest and still most powerful". This is obviously not true. The plane in question is a very cheap fighter that still delivers a lot of bang for the buck. It isn't the cheapest and certainly not the most powerful.
Indeed not every situation requires the expensive aircraft such as F-35. There are many operations this beautiful bird fits into. And the cost effectiveness is also a huge factor.
One night, On a beautiful island in the Philippine Sea, A beautiful F-16 met another plane, nobody is sure, but it was either a T-38 or an F-5, had a beautiful night together. The abandoned their baby on that beautiful island. It grew up to be the Golden Eagle.
I am so proud that my country is the one who first test the capability of this new small, but so much reliable combat aircraft fighter from South Korea in the actual battle itself. I hope that in the future, the Philippines could also acquire the more improve FA-50 Block 20+ or perhaps the well known F-16, in any particular variants that can be provided.

Well, title and political statements aside, some very good description and breakdown of the development program, aircraft and its history. This truly is an amazing “bang-for-your-buck” aircraft. Once again, the Koreans have demonstrated their amazing capability to start off with an American design/technology and adapt, convert and even in some ways improve it to meet specific needs, including cost and availability. They did the same with their Aegis KDX-III destroyers. With what appeared to be inspiration from the American Arleigh Burke, they built arguably the best cruiser ever utilizing American AEGIS, VLS, RAM, and COGAG technology. And if they can ever rid themselves of their current NK/CCP appeasing government, their CVX program could result in an equally amazing cousin of the Royal Navy’s QE twins! ROK should be proud and we are lucky to have such Allies!
The incumbent Yoon administration is viewed as being hawkish and hard-line on defense and cannot be said to appease NK/CCP. S. Korean liberals, including the previous Moon administration, on the other hand, tend to be more conciliatory towards NK and China.
The CVX project is a bit of a pipe dream. At least the wildest concepts. More for propaganda against the Chinese than any realistic naval contributions. Why? 1. They bought F-35A, and won't be able to afford to buy F-35Cs 2. Their Boramae fighter doesn't have plans for a STOVL variant. 3. They don't have the experience nor the will to pour the money into developing a CATOBAR carrier. 4. They only have plans to build a single CVX. 5. Their GDP is less than half of Japan's and they already spend more than their percentage of GDP on defense than Japan does.
Regarding the issue of perception on the Polish FA 50 We buy them mainly for air policing and pinpoint attacks on ground targets maby for CAS/JTAC. The military air force was given a certain amount of money to spend and they thought about what they would buy for it and it turned out that the FA-50 fits, also the M-346 is troublesome they have a low readiness in our country, pilot training is important. We think about the integration of brimstone and meteor, until the introduction of the AIM-260, it would paradoxically be the most dangerous aircraft in BVR that we currently have and a nice cost/effect for scratching off armoured divisions between barrel and rocket artillery zones.

@@zerorisekie1638 Sorry but 5th generation jets utilize stealth. This is a 4.5 generation aircraft. Not 4th or 5th generation. It is akin to the American F-20 essentially. This jet almost looks like an F-5 and a F-16 had a baby.

Which is funny because that name actually does exist here. An ISIS-linked group actually named themselves the "Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters" after splitting off from the Moro separatist groups after they made peace with the government.
While describing the F50 you used words like: less than, only and not as much. The F50 was designed for S Korea which is not a large country, thus Mach 2, more than four tons ordinance loads is all that it needs to perform its mission of protecting S Korea. This appears to be an awesome fighting aircraft.
Actually, the S. Korean Air Force only operates 60 FA-50 with the other version being advanced trainers and the TA-50 lead-in tactical trainers. The ROKAF, because of NK, operates the F-16C/Ds, F-15Es, and F-35A as its main force with the FA-50 being used by airfields close to the DMZ for scramble missions and close air support. Almost the same role as the F-5E/F that are gradually being phased out of service (a handful of American-made F-5E/Fs will all be deactivated by 2025 with the Korean-built KF-5E/Fs that started entering service in the mid-1980s, shouldering on till the end of the 2020s)
This aircraft would not be the appropriate tool to deal with the rising threat of communist china and the mach 2 fighters that China has . For South Korea this is a training aircraft so students can graduate to match 2 fighters . For low budget nations this is a cost effective option to modernize . Low budget nations can't afford f 35 fighters or the expensive maintenance required by f 35 fighters .
@@donholiday4942 If you stick AAM-120's on it would be fine. These fighters do indeed look like a hybrid of F-16 and F-18, i like them, but it´s a bit confusing. Gongratz to the Koreans for designing and building what seems like a great fighter. No need to get ever bigger planes, sometimes a smaller frame is the exactly right choice.
It has a beautiful design and can be an excellent multirole fighter for smaller countries like in Africa or South America where you don't expect to encounter 4th generation aircraft. These FA-50 are perfect for CAS and patrol.
I remember reading of an exercise where Thailand took delivery of their brand new F16's and did an exercise against New Zealand A-4 Skyhawks. The A-4's shot them out of the sky by flying just above the ground then straight up for the belly shot. The Thai pilots didn't see them until too late.

Not as lethal as top tier fighter jets, but FA-50 can do most of the daily jobs and scrambles that F-16 fighter jet can do with way cheaper money. Reliable and easy to maintain, so high availability. True work horse of modern fighter, modernized spiritual successor of Northrop F-5E Tiger II.
I remembered in the old days Korea was known for the Hyundai Excel and Goldstar appliances... who would have thought they are now making and selling MRF and stealth fighters.. it's really gone a long way from the 1980s and 40 yrs later. Congratulations South Korea.. Hopefully your brother North Korea will leave you at peace and applaud your achievements as well.
Looks to be something that Ireland should look into if they are serious about buying fighters. Be about the right price for them . I was watching another video about which aircraft the Irish could buy for their needs but this one was over look. What was mentioned is that they just need something to intercept Russian aircrafts that intrude there air space. This would fit the bill for them as they would be new built and not use airframes.
Ireland currently only has prop-driven aircraft so a small number of affordable FA-50s (or something like it) with low operating costs can be used to intercept Russian reconnaissance or bombers gettling too close to its airspace.
Just a side note, the GE-F404 does NOT produce 22,000 lbs of thrust. No Golden Eagle has this type of power. But everything else is pretty spot on. Keep going. Liked and Subscribed
Plus, it is unusual for strike aircraft to make more than one pass against a target where there many be manpads. Unlikely they'd turn around for a second go at the target - yeah, it's artistic license by the narrator but "One pass, haul ass" is usually the tactic of expensive strike aircraft.
@@staubsauger2305 he was correct with that one, the Maute ISIS group had no manpads. They tried shooting the planes with .50 cal rifles which had very little chance of hitting.
@@michaeld1170 Thanks for the info. However even with 50 cals strike pilots always worry about the "magic BB" taking you out. Hence, strike plan on one pass only except if you have better intelligence (or SF/FAC on the ground).
This South Korea made fighter aircraft use American made Jet engine , has America made radar and targeting pod, has America made AA missiles and ground strike weapons. But still it is a good fighter aircraft.
As far as I now it doesn't even have integrated long range air to air missiles. It is very good training plane, but during modern war it can be used only to shoot down drones or to support ground forces. No air to air combat at all. Even old MiG 29 can effortlessly shoot down any FA-50. If FA-50 had AMRAAM it would be a fighter jet, now is not.
Ngl, FA-50 is well performed Light Strike Role. I hope the Ukrainians will purchase FA-50 as well. They need this fighter maybe the Block 20 variants that can carries AIM-120 AMRAAMs.
These things aren't what I would call "powerful" as they don't even have LAAM capability. A fighter isn't complete if only armed with SAAMs like Sidewinders or IRIS-Ts. These days, most engagements are BVR so missiles like Meteor, AMRAAM and R-73 reign supreme. Don't get me wrong, for what they can do, these planes are awesome! Calling them powerful is a bit of a stretch though as I doubt that any of these could take on even a second-rate fighter like a JF-17 or Tejas.
It is a "cheap and cheerful" plane. Certainly not of the same caliber as frontline fighters like the F-16, F-15 not to mention the F-35. As mentioned in the video, for smaller nations with limited budgets or those that don't have an enemy entity right next door the FA-50 is a credible supersonic fighter that can intercept intruding airplanes, conduct CAS, and train next-generation pilots without breaking the bank. Also, they are good low-tier planes to augment more cutting-edge true fighters in a high-low mix. No need to send up a F-22 to intercept a passenger plane that veered off course by mistake or shoot down a Chinese "weather" balloon....

I like to play around with the VR fligth sim, VTOL VR. That game added the T-55 Tyro. Its clearly a F-50 Golden Eagle, but that game renames everything and alters the design slightly to avoid copyright issues (yes, that is a thing in video games). Yes, I know it is just a game, but still. A VR game is my favorite simulator (VR is really excellent for flight sims). Also, VTOL VR added a modernized F-14 Tomcat this past Christmas.
FA-50 can be labeled as a junior version of F16. FA-50 can be improved but always must be less capable than the most advanced F16, currently F16V; that is the base contract between KAI and LM.
It's basically just a two seater F-16 with dual controls hence the T for trainer, the TA is a Trainer Attack aircraft and the FA is a swingrole aircraft being both a Fighter and an Attack aircraft. The T-50, T-50 A, TA-50, TA-50 A, FA-50 and FA-50 A can also use the AIM-120 AMRAAM and JSOW as well as can the FA-50 PL and I personally believe the US should purchase some of the FA-50 PL for the counter insurgency role to either augment the Raytheon T-6 Texans (license built Toucanos) modified to fill that role
It will have AIM120 and a powerful AESA radar integrated soon. I say it will make it "capable" which is a good thing, because it is cheap to run so You can have many :)
PAF's FA50 golden eagle was able to outmaneuver and beat the USAF's F22 Raptor in a mock dog fight. Practically the FA50 is the cheapest but effective light fighter so far.
Interesting that the backlog of F-16's directs the decision to procure the Golden Eagle. This decision may not be optimal as the Golden Eagle utilizes American Radar and Engines. These systems may be diverted to American aircraft production if the world continues to deteriorate.
You can always source new radar from elsewhere, like the Isrealis or the French. The engines are the same model (different sub-model) from the Super Hornet (and Gripen) which will cease production in 2025 which should free up production for other projects.
F/A-50 Blk 20 can be equipped with either ESR-500A AESA or Raytheon Phantom Strike (at customer's choice) - and can be equipped with AIM-120 series and MBDA Meteor - and compatible with conformal fuel tank. On March 8, 2024, March 8, KAI’s board of directors greenlit a substantial investment of 90.9 billion won to develop a single-seat version of the FA-50 alongside an autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) project. A portion of this investment, totaling 35.6 billion won is allocated specifically for the creation of a single-seat FA-50, responding to the escalating global interest in such models. This initiative aims to broaden product offerings, tap into new markets, and accommodate persistent requests from existing clientele for a solo-seater variant. Projected roll out date of the single sit version is 2026 or first half of 2027.
For a long time I've thought we (USA) need something between our super expensive, huge payload, highly advanced, F-16, F-15, F-22, F35 Strike fighters and fighter bombers. They are messing around with the Super Tucano and the AT-180 SkyWarden. And while they are great A/C, perfect for recon, counter insurgency, strikes in an un-contested environment they are still "Light Attack" and far from a "light fighter". In a contested air space they have zero chance of survivability. The FA-50 does have that survivability with its 1.5 Mach ability (F-35 has 1.6 Mach capability reportedly). It fits a role somewhere in the middle, between a "budget" light attack and our big boy Gucci fighters. Using an F-35 or F-22 to take out some bad guys in a mud hut seems like overkill when you could send one or two of these in at a fraction of the price. And unlike the Super Tucano or SkyWarden, they can be in and out in a fraction of the time. Maybe that role is for drones now?
Yak is smaller twin engine jet in the BAe hawk class, this Korean jet is bigger single engine, its closer to light fighter jet, using the same engine as the JAS 39 Gripen fighter jet.
So far there are 2 versions of FA-50 Block 20 which are FA-50PL (Poland) and FA-50M (Malaysia). These will have BVR, cruise missiles and AESA from the get go. It is unclear whether they will sport Raytheon PhantomStrike or a downsized APG-83. The Malaysian ones will have AAR probes as they are required to cross the pond between East and West Malaysia.
This shows how wonderful this jet is against forces who lack air defense systems and possess only small arms. Kind of like the US advantage against many of its “enemies” in the past 40 years.
Good on South Korea! The FA50 looks like a well designed plane. And, the price! At that price, many smaller, poorer countries can build a formidable fleet of military aircraft. Personally, as with Japan, I like to see our allies increase their manufacturing capabilities. It’s a “force multiplier,” and makes the alliance stronger. It’s going to take all of our combined manufacturing capabilities to keep up with China.
Right away I identified it as an F16 clone of some kind. Confirmed in the first 45 seconds of the video. Definitely a great choice. Hope it has an excellent service history.
As a multirole fighter It's 4 or 4.5 gen, non stealth, with average network and weapons capabilities, this is a multirole fighter for countries that cannot afford or are restricted from a 1st tier stealth 5th or 6th gen fighters or cannot afford a large advanced multirole 4.5gen machine. But the trainer version of this aircraft makes a wonderful aircraft, one could say that is worthy of being upgraded into one of the worlds most advanced and lethal multirole Trainer/Fighter/Attack aircraft. But as a tier one multirole fighter it is lacking.
These aircraft heavily use American and Israeli technology in engines, control systems, and weapons so there are countries like Iran and Uzbekistan who will not be allowed to purchase them. This plane lost out to Aermacchi M346 to supply Israel, Argentina, and Singapore.
You must consider the overall plan for US military air superiority. With geographically important allies needing aircraft to defend themselves, the FA50 can be used to initiate the war plan. In a large scale war effort, the US will count on assistance from allies to fill voids in the Air Force inventory.
No. Because some shitwit called it "the most powerful fighter in existence." That kind of bullshit hyperbole is only written in marketeering departments.
The old saying comes to mind "if i looks right it will fly right" This little aircraft seems to be packing so much punch and with muscle. And with its avionics, this is a power pack jet...
One minor detail; LM has an agreement with KAI that no FA50 variant can be more potent than any F16 variants RoKAF operates. What it means is, FA50’s current performance cap is not investment or technology but performance cap placed by LM. Another minor note; The mini Taurus (long range air to ground) is with range of 500km similar to Storm Shadow.

I think an F-35 is now @ $80M+. That's not 3 x $40M. Maybe it has a good niche for low-budget forces, but it's very expensive at half the cost of a top-tier stealth fighter.
From a sustainable standpoint, Ukraine should have ordered these and get new cheaper fighter jets faster instead of waiting on old and more expensive to operate and maintain F16 jets. Besides Korea could have trained them in all its aspects and bypassed all the bureaucratic loops for the F16. More, cheaper, lighter newer jets to gain air superiority to leverage the current status.
We could have bought t-50's off the shelf and had them in service years ago, but we keep buying from buying from Boeing and getting burned. Budgets double and everything a decade late in production. Then they never reach promised capability. Russia would send you to the gulags to remotivate you for these things.
I once heard a General Dynamics engineer that worked on designing the F16 say when comparing it to bigger fighters, the best use of two jet engines and two pilots is in two fighter aircraft.

The USAF T-38 Talon trainer jet has been bought and used in countries around the world as the "F-5" for nigh 40 years. Even the Swiss Air Force used them for decades. Just because a jet is used for a trainer doesn't mean avionics, radar and modifications can't turn it into a lethal weapon.
The idea of a cheaper, reliable and a fast to produce aircraft demonstrated by Northrop's F-5 has been upheld once more.

Nothing to brag about. Poland's purchase of the FA-50 was a political decision dictated solely by propaganda. The ruling party wanted to have nice photos with new planes in the background before the upcoming elections.

Ireland currently only has prop-driven aircraft so a small number of affordable FA-50s (or something like it) with low operating costs can be used to intercept Russian reconnaissance or bombers gettling too close to its airspace.
Ireland probably doesn't need an airforce but they should buy twin-engine interceptors like the F-15X due to flights being mostly being over water.

@@staubsauger2305 Didn't you see Flight of the Intruder? (Or read Stephen Coonts' awesome novel)
This South Korea made fighter aircraft use American made Jet engine , has America made radar and targeting pod, has America made AA missiles and ground strike weapons. But still it is a good fighter aircraft.
Radar is Israeli.
It won't save Ukraine... they are getting their butts kicked. Keep listening to the MSM, smh.
Well, if you are interested, you can dig-up the play between the F22 and FA 50, between F35 and FA 50, both FA50s manned by Filipino pilots.
@@sran5947i certainly hope you arent suggesting its even in the same league as the F-22 or F-35. Lol

We Filipinos love the FA 50 because it's very effective light attack aircraft, low cost per flight hour, cheap and ease of maintenance, even Poland order tons of FA50,✌️
When you want an F16 but can't afford them, then you Hundai your way to success.
F-20 Tigershark: Hold my beer.
The FA-50 is the spiritual, more up-to-date successor to the F-20. A more successful spiritual successor because it got sales.
The F20 was cancelled before it got any sales.
I say it will make it "capable" which is a good thing, because it is cheap to run so You can have many :)
at 10:41 I love the rosary attached to the combat backpack. That is the most fierce weapon for spiritual warfare.
Amen!
You know what they say - there are no atheists in foxholes.
It looks kind of like an A-4 Skyhawk with F-16 wings.
If you buy it first when you think the delivery of the F-16 will be late, you will not regret it.
PAF's FA50 golden eagle was able to outmaneuver and beat the USAF's F22 Raptor in a mock dog fight. Practically the FA50 is the cheapest but effective light fighter so far.
That F-22 had its drop tanks which severely limited its speed, power and maneuverability.
FA-50 is a Game changer procurement by the Philippine Air Force
If an F-16 and an Alpha-jet had a kid...
Eh, the Philippines also have the Super Tucano for their mini brrrrrrttttt... A10's are expensive as hell.
Finally people designing small, modern, yet fully functional non stealth and affordable aircraft for ground attack roles against insurgents
That is not the FA-50 at all. That description sounds more like the EMB 314 Super Tucano.
@@Kyle-kc8cwYeah or the US built F-5 or F-20 Tigershark. Idk why this dude said "finally" lmao. Its been like 40 years.
This thing is so cool. Supersonic light attack aircraft. It even has mid range AMRAAMS.
I had no idea this aircraft existed, also that Philippines are facing such insurgents. Mind blown
Sounds like Lockheed provided all the tools and had the Koreans put it together
How dos it stack up to the yak-130,? In range, speed, bomb lode, moveable, elc onborad ?? It looks good, jf.
It is far beyond the pond...a lake perhaps
The FA-50 Golden Eagle is to the F-16 what Mini-Me is to Dr. Evil....

@@silverhammer7779 correct
@@silverhammer7779 have you seen our new trainer? It's called the T7a Redhawk. Joint Boeing and Saab design. It's basically a mini Super Hornet.
@@silverhammer7779 In the case of the Japanese F-2, they were kinda forced by America to copy much of the F-16. Japan WANTED to make their own.
But as a tier one multirole fighter it is lacking.
that could sell like crazy... even more than the F-16s... every airforce can use them... not just the ''limited''...
These aircraft heavily use American and Israeli technology in engines, control systems, and weapons so there are countries like Iran and Uzbekistan who will not be allowed to purchase them. This plane lost out to Aermacchi M346 to supply Israel, Argentina, and Singapore.
single cockpit would be nice
What is the soundtrack in the video?
Not the first time the Philippines bought fighter jets based on trainers. They used to have F-5s in the past, which were based on the T-38 trainer.
You must consider the overall plan for US military air superiority. With geographically important allies needing aircraft to defend themselves, the FA50 can be used to initiate the war plan. In a large scale war effort, the US will count on assistance from allies to fill voids in the Air Force inventory.
A marketing video?
Yeah. Because we are all in the market for a fighter jet lol
Yeah, because KAI wants to sell RUclipsrs $50 million dollar fighter jets
No. Because some shitwit called it "the most powerful fighter in existence." That kind of bullshit hyperbole is only written in marketeering departments.
How many different "most powerful" fighters are there?
where do you get the footage of the planes flying and that type of stuff?
The old saying comes to mind
"if i looks right it will fly right"
This little aircraft seems to be packing so much punch and with muscle.
And with its avionics, this is a power pack jet...
... and look right it absolutely does.
The T-50 looks like if an F-16 and a F-18 hooked up the T-50 would be their offspring. Basically an F-16 with F-18 inlets and wing root leading edges.
Ayyy Philippines mentioned 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
It looks like an F-5 and F-16 decided to do the naughty.
Maybe the most bang for the bucks but certainly not the most powerful!🤔😂👍🇺🇸
Our FA-50 PH is a cheap but capable jet fighter. Not just a Lead In Trainer Attack Aircraft just as everyone in our country says.
Super content ✌️Need a documentary about the IAI Kfir.
One minor detail;
LM has an agreement with KAI that no FA50 variant can be more potent than any F16 variants RoKAF operates.
What it means is, FA50’s current performance cap is not investment or technology but performance cap placed by LM.
Another minor note;
The mini Taurus (long range air to ground) is with range of 500km similar to Storm Shadow.
They even change color, mid flight.
that makes it stelfy
Among the contracts between Lockheed Martin and KAI are as follows.
FA-50 has a constraint that it cannot exceed the latest F-16 specification.
So the FA-50 has its limits.
However, the FA-50 is a cost-effectiveness and has a full role to play.
Very powerful as a 5th generation pilot training, proximity support, and small multi-roll fighter.
It must be a very useful aircraft for both training and practice.
Armed forces are also evolving.
In Block 2
AIM-9 Sidewinder
AIM-7 Sparrow
AGM-65 Maverick
IRIS-T
KEPD 350K-2
AIM-120 AMRAAM
It will be armed.
What is unusual is that the Korean-made AESA Radar is better than the US-made Radar with performance limits.
However, due to the inherent limitations of FA-50, it seems to be impossible to mount.
However, KF-21 has no constraints.
This is because Korea has developed core technologies such as AESA Radar, IRST, EOTGP, and RF Jammer.
The interior armament is also under development and the MUM-T system is also under development.
We're testing to control three drones with wingmen
It is being developed as a multi-purpose fighter with more than five generations at the same time as the development of internal armoured windows.
The AESA radar developed by Korea is a gallium nitride material and is powerful.
It is currently used in Korean Aegis destroyers, M-SAMs, and L-SAMs.
Gallium oxide materials that are much more powerful than gallium nitride materials are also being developed.
Korea has strong EMP technology.
RF-Jammer is also very powerful.
It will reach NGJ-MB performance enough.
IRST is currently on board the frigate and in use.
EO-TGP is already applied to FA-50.
Core equipment is constantly being upgraded with the development of new technologies.
KF-21 Boramae is the name of a falcon when its young is raised for hunting.
Boramae is called the Little Raptor, but in the near future, it will evolve into the fifth and sixth generation fighter jets that will shine on itself.
I hope you will pay a lot of attention to KF-21.
There’s still a place for an economical fighter jet
If the F20 tigershark was around that would be it
I once heard a General Dynamics engineer that worked on designing the F16 say when comparing it to bigger fighters, the best use of two jet engines and two pilots is in two fighter aircraft.
I rather take the word of fighter pilot than an engineer.😂
6:32 Wrong Sir.....its not the cheapest aircraft in the world....rather Pakistani JF -17 Thunder with its blocks 1,2 each cost 25 million USD as compared to FA-50 being 40 million USD & block 3 with 4.5 Gen avionics(AESA radar ,HUD is 30 million USD a piece) specifications .....all have won battle honours in air missions against India & 2019(with 2 kills) and against Iran in 2024 with deep penetrative precision steikes the cheapest with avionics matching a
FA-50 is literally classified as an advanced trainer, they didn't even have BVR capabilities, why bother call it a fighter?
BVR is not a requirement to be called a fighter
I think you confused FA-50 with T-50. FA-50 pretty much have the same engine etc with Grippen C/D.
The FA-50 block 20 can carry the AIM-120 AMRAAM. I believe it can only carry 4 of them, but it is a BVR missile and very capable.
I’d love to have an A-37 Super Tweet, but would settle on the T-37 trainer version. 😉
