Hello lovelies! For this recipe, If using agar agar strands, use 1 & 1/2 tbsp of powdered strand (use a mixer to grind to flakes) If using gelatin, use 1 & 1/2 tbsp of gelatin Make sure to dissolve completely until you see no grainy texture in it. Hope this helps you all!
Tried it. Tasted yummy. Was showered with compliments. Only one small issue... I used strands of Agar Agar. Guess the proportion was wrong. So it did not jellify. Had to freeze for sometime. Please advise. Thanks in advance
Can you please suggest any other ingredient to put other than agar - agar powder and china grass , as it's hard to get China grass near my area in this lockdown...
I tried making it but after keeping in the refrigerator for 5hrs it's still liquid. Can you tell me what was the mistake.Should I have used more agar agree??
1 Cup = 240 ml ½ Cup = 120 ml ¼ cup = 60 ml ⅛ cup = 30 ml 1 Teaspoon teaspoon = 5 ml 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) = 3 teaspoon = 15 ml 2 Tablespoon = 30 ml = ⅛ cup 4 Tablespoon = 60 ml = ¼ cup
I tried it with mature coconut. It was really good. So basically I had to grind the chunks but filter the milk out using a sterile cloth. Oh and also I'd to put 2 tsp of gelatin to make it work.
Powder works best, many have given feedback saying it doesn't set when using strands as it takes lots of time to dissolve. If using strand, make sure to dissolve completely...1 tsp of powdered agar = 1/3 cup agar strands (cut into 1 inch pieces) You can also powder it and measure.
Hi Raks, thanks for the recipe. But there is a small confusion. In the video it says half tbsp agar agar but in the detailed recipe its mentioned one and a half tbsp agar agar. Can you please confirm how much to use.
Hi dear, as I have mentioned in my post, if you use agar agar powder, it is half tablespoons. If you don't get powder and have only agar agar strands, (or using geletine) you should use one and half tablespoons. Hope it's clear now.
Okay, it should set easily. Not even need to freeze. The agar agar should be dissolved complete. Otherwise no tricks involved. May be try using a little more and see next time 👍💜
I have not used badam pisin. Not sure if it will set like this same. But will it set if mixed like this. If you don't mind setting and just going to have in bowl, you can grind it along the pulp smoothly and can use it. Hope this helps
Thanks, pudding looks tasty. One doubt - do you know how to select a good coconut (taste) - I find instead of tender coconut, regular coconut is sweeter. Also for tender coconut - is there any way to know which is good? Thank you for sharing the videos.
Depending on the coconut variety, even tender coconut can be sweet. I do not have any trick to know which is good. Just ask the shop keeper to give tender ones...
Hi Raks, I tried making as per details mentioned but even after putting in fridge for 2 hours, it is still liquid. Kindly help Anyways to solve this issue?

Where do I find agar agar powder?
Where do you live? It is usually along baking items here in Singapore. You can try amazon online too.
The shit country US
Wow..yummy...
Can we prepare this without gelatin or agar agar?
It won't be having the same consistency of pudding. But yet it will be yummy. Can add a tbsp of corn flour ( white corn starch) as thickening agent.
Can I use Gelatin instead of Agar agar?
Yes, 1 &½ tbsp should be setting the pudding. I haven't tried myself though.
