From my searches of BMW repair content, I have found that your channel is the most complete and best compendium I have found in one place.
Yes this info is out there by others but not all in one place and not so detailed, keep it up Jason, well done mate.

If you plan on going above stock power definitely run NGK 2 step colder plug (97506) if you are stock power Bosch will be fine.

I use ngk spark plugs and GOSS coils on my BMW E90 Thay work great no problem with the car

    My 2 cents on coils.
    1. Bosch coils were fine, but due to cost savings BMW went with Delphi and they turned out awful. Eldor was selected as next manufacturer with better quality/price ratio.
    2. There are three different part numbers for these coils. The one for Bosch yields more results to Eldors.
Personally I went with Hellas, but had some generic autozone brand installed by previous owner and haven't had any problems with them too.

The mounting tabs broke on my car too so I used JB weld instead of super glue. So far so good. I also filled the 6 holes with JB weld so the screws have something to thread into.

there are 1 step colder and 2 step colder ngk single prong plugs recommended for tuned applications. there is also a 3 prong ngk for stock applications.

It is a bit strange, but I have the same type of coils on my M54 engine. It's one of the last units built (2005), so I guess they decided to switch to these type of coils in the latest versions.

I just replaced like a month ago all 8 coils on my 650i F13 (N63TU engine).. 2 of them all of the sudden started misfiring. New plugs and coils and its working flawless (it was actually the coils not the plugs, tested them by moving them to other cylinders)

General question: (2001 E39/M54 type engine) Replaced 2 coils, 3 & 5 with NGK brand coils approximately 100 miles ago...and Engine codes displayed: P1346P (Misfire during Start Cylinder 3) & P1350P (Misfire during Start Cylinder 5) and all spark plugs were replaced 15,500 miles ago with NGK plugs. Most likely operator error since this is what I touched Cylinders 3 & 5 and I got these codes. Just wondering if anyone experienced this symptom after this simple replacement action and had this same issue...along with fix action/lesson learned. And to be honest I may not truly recognize rough idle since I've had this vehicle for so long and it is 2001.

This spark plugs looks good to me. When the time to change really come, the central electrode will be triangular, but on this one it is in good cylindrical shape.

I tend to use irridium plug (Either GKN, Denso or Bosch). Mainly because of the life time. Have you noticed any difference between to 4, 2 or 1 leg plugs? Why not go with irridium plugs? I do not really understand the multi leg design other than for wear (but you can solve that with irridium plugs). All the extra legs are like a heat sink for the flame when it is just ignited.

There should be rubber there, otherwise rain water will go under there and onto the engine or electronics rather than be redirected to side drains. I had rubber there on mine.

You might want to consider getting the BMS cabin filters and do a cowl delete given you’re tinkering with the engine bay a lot more than others :)
