    So funny, My 2013 beast is in for its 15grand service and debating over risers. I think I'll redirect the cash to heated grips. Great video, cheers

    I like mine. I have the 1 inch risers and in my opinion they make a difference on longer rides.

      Definitely saves your back some. Im also going to get an extension kit put on mine so it'll share more weight with the front and in theory minimizing the chances of the death Wobble. Also going to install a stearing buffer for it bc it's a 97 model

    I had a 1996 Yamaha Thunderace (with 42,000 miles) before I bought my ZZR. I went from home (South Coast) to Birmingham and back and my back was killing me! The ZZR I own has 1 " risers. The difference in comfort for my old frame is vast. I feel I can ride all day and get off just as fresh as I started.
    Obviously, it may just be the bike, I haven't tried it without the risers, but I like them and I'm keeping them!

    Actually never have taken mine off. Came with them on and found the position pretty comfortable. Rides are usually 4 or more hours. Still can get sore wrists (especially at the being of the season)... when that happens I find that I am not using my legs and core as much as I should be. Jealous that you are riding .... another month before even thinking of taking ZX14 out In a weeks time we are going back down to -30... More videos we need more to get thru the last of winter!!!!

    I good video. I have had a gen 1 and gen 2 ZZR and loved them both. During the time of owning both of these bikes I had sadly got older and in my last year of ownership I needed more comfort for the amount of touring we do.
    I am just over 6 foot 2 so decided to try the bar risers, I got them on line and in my case it did feel more comfortable but didn't make the handling feel any different. I had a bracket for a ZX14 that fitted on top of the bar risers that had a bar on it to mount a camera or phone. I had a USB charger and a sat nav fitted on mine.
    Another tip for touring is to ignore what Kawasaki and Givi told me as a pannier rack will fit the gen 2. Same rack as the gen 1 just need 2 small spacers that go in between the rack either side of the grab rail for that extra bit of clearance needed.
    The V35 panniers will then fit a treat.
    I couldn't find any rider peg lowering kit that fitted tried 2 and gave up in the end traded the ZZR in for a GTR to help my aging mid 60s knees.

    when you first get a new bike just a change of riding position can give you neck ache but as you get bike fit for your new bike {using slightly diff muscles} this usually goes away, but i have bar risers and find them great

    I now own a 2001 Honda CBR1100XX Superblackbird with the original bars since the second week of January this year. Haven't been riding very much. Too cold too wet. But I had to get familiar with the handling and the riding position. I think I am leaning much further forward than you on the ZZR1400 (I think). I have problems looking backwards, looking upwards at the traffic lights. I am getting used to the riding position and the handling (new tires).
    I am now looking for fully adjustable clip ons, adjustable in height and angle.
    I think it is better for my neck.

    Well.. On my bike I've got 30 ml risers, I also lowered the footpegs, I'm not sure if it's because I've lowered the footpegs together with the risers, but to me, yes, it made a difference. Not 💯 perfect. But better than the originals. I'm 6.2 so it was killing my knees and wrists when I did over 20 miles..
    I'm also in the middle of modding my bike up, may make a video once the project is finished.
    The beast has some awsome after stock to add to the standard zzr1400.

      Did u have to lengthen the cables or make any other mods to fit the 30mm risers?

    • @snakeman9902
      @snakeman9902 2 года назад

      @@midnightx1719 Not at all, the cables are long enough to fit, that was the beauty of it, I did my research before purchase. It made riding the beast more comfortable, the lowering the footpegs also made an improvement on my knees.

      @@snakeman9902 yes it does , i have purchased from them before. Curious why they didn't work for goblin, he said his were 1 inch which is about 25mm, not much in it between his and yours. Just prersonal preference i guess.

    Just adding a note to this . The bar risers for a standard ZZR 1400 are slightly different to the performance sport . That’s why one set has the lip . The none PS ones don’t fit the PS 👍

    I've got the 1" risers and feel they help but just a little bit. I was looking at the LSL or ABM riser kit that moves them up and back and inch. I am hesitant about those as it's very expensive. I wish someone who used that kit could comment. I mean you have to change the brake line and all that shit.

    Similar thoughts to you but it was on my new purchase of an old Honda Blackbird in 2018. i couldn't cope with the stock clipons due to neck ache and wrist ache (must be an age thing cos i was ok on the bird in the 1990s.)...so i bought some heli bars for it that were a pain to fit and although they were 2 inches higher it still wasn't comfortable..so i tried a straight bar conversion and that was even worse cos it was further forward and was even more uncomfortable. So, I sold the bike. I have been looking recently at getting a zzr14 but with your feedback about the risers being of little value , I am now thinking that I should probably not bother as i had hoped the risers would be good on this bike.

    How would you compare the riding position to a GTR1400 or any other touring bike? Is the ZX14 really have that aggressive position? Can one's back survive say a 5-6 hour interstate ride? 😅

    • @GoblinRides
      @GoblinRides  Год назад

      It is aggressive, but I wouldn't say its uncomfortable like some super sports. Back shouldn't be a problem over long distance, more on the hands for me if riding for longer than a couple of hours in one go. 👍

    Sorry to hear you got the wrong ones .. I am 55 and I got the 1 inch riders and they helped me .. I am 5'11 so not that tall which might have a factor to play. I did find the risers out there were up to 2012 and beyond 2012 (Gen 1 - Gen 2), it sounds like they sent you the wrong ones :)

    I cut that lip off so I could lower the forks through them, when I experimented with lowering the bike. Looked cool lowered but, ground clearance probems and stiff steering, handling. I do find them useful, as I have longer arms. I do need to be more mindful of body position when sporty, as it does necessitate leaning forward positively and crunches arms up a bit more. 1&1/4" risers in my case.

    Maybe it's the camera angle but it looks like you're sitting pretty much upright now and putting very little weight on your wrists.
