It would be interesting to explore a world where the failed colonies of America succeeded instead of the real ones. Like New Sweden, New Holland, Acadia, France Antarctique, Scottish Panama, Fort Caroline, Charlesbourg Royal, Popham, Roanoke, Ajacan mission and Santa Elena. And maybe a successful native state in New England led by Metacomet.
I honestly thought the scenario was gonna follow the question of "what if the English colonies broke away from England during the English civil war", and why it could've been interesting is because the Colonies sided with the King even after he was beheaded. So then it could've been like oh what if King Charles escaped to America or like what if the English monarchy was exiled in 15 whatever year it was. It could've been a Brazil like story of an exiled Monarch taking advantage of the new world to create a stronger nation than the homeland.
You have a great point however nobody would say Brazil was more powerful or "better" than Portugal so the thing you said about "creation of a stronger nation than the homeland" does not actually apply to Brazil vs. Portugal, like you said. But I know what you mean and I like the idea.

@terminalimpact2771 You are right: it was sarcasm. Britain occupied all Dutch colonies during the Napoleonic Wars & chose which ones they would give back to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Britain kept half of Dutch Guyana, all of the Cape Colony, all of Ceylan. Britain gave up Indonesia because of issues they had with their Indian Ocean commerce.
You mean what if he was never assassinated?? Well he'd retake Walachia from his brother. And he could continue to push against Mehmed II while his brother continues to live in Ottoman territory.
I don't see why the British wouldn't conquer parts of India still despite not having massive colonial holdings in America. The east India company had already been set up nearly a decade prior and the British obtained a port in 1608. The absence of British colonial holdings in America would also free up necessary resources to do other things, like pursue trade in India. While there presence may be diminished severley, I can see them conquering Bengal eventually and other surrounding regions (Historically the British had good relations with the Bengalese princes and eventually overthrew them)
Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's very much into Early Modern British and Early US warfare I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series
The Dutch take the East Coast and lose it to the French and Spanish. No British in the entire continent eventually. Russians take a bit more beyond Alaska, but not much.
What if England abandoned the Americas and Germany colonized it? And to explain this: here's how I see this happening. After the Napoleonic Wars ending in 1825. Austria and Prussia make a alliance to colonize the new world. You can take any bits from this. It's just a basic idea
I doubt Britain would abandon a valuable colony like Canada, and the americas were pretty much conquered by the napoleonic wars so I personally don’t see this happening
what if kaliningrad oblast became part of US State 51st? What if Königsberg (East Prussia) was given to America instead of USSR after World War 2, and later turned into the 51st US state?

Josh,Acadia and New-France aren't the same,it's a common mistake that I am annoyed to see, Acadia is a part of New-France but New-France isn't a part of Acadia,Acadia only encompasses New-Brunswick,Nova-Scotia,P.E.I and "les îles de la madeleine", while New-France is the entire collection of French colonies
@@JoshSullivanHistory so you are talking about the what would be the maritimes,Québecois believe they are a part of the core of New-France A.K.A the more densely populated parts and the parts around the great lakes, Louisiana and Acadia were populated too but just less then the actual core of the colony to show statistics the population of New-France was around 55000(in the 1700's),this is a pretty rough estimate but let's assume the core of New-France has 40000-45000,that would make Lousiana have around 10000 (mostly natives) and Acadia have around 5000(this is the reason why Acadians were assimilated but Québec wasn't they had way less people so it costed less money to the British),it's just not very representative of the population density
But if the English failed to establish profitable colonies in the Americas ... France and the dutch would have failed too... its only because England was so successful in the northern half of the continent (spain settled the south) that those other 2 decided to try their own in the area... if England wasn't able to figure it out, neither would anyone else, and spain would maintain a monopoly in America... or everyone would try to settle in the south like spain, because it was "easier" and they would focus on taking over other nations and tribes rather than establishing settled colonies...this is because the same issues that England encountered would happen to others as well. If it wasn't profitable for England, nobody else would even attempt to try. That's what im trying to say... spain got lucky because there was already pre established nations in the form of the aztecs and incas to conquer and assimilate, this helped spain become more profitable, if they had to start settling from scratch like Britain they probably would have failed as well... if England never discovered how to profit from furs or tobacco, nobody else would have figured it out either... its not safe to assume that one will succeed where the other failed just because they are a different culture. The starvation, fighting, and lack of resources, etc would have still affected any other nation attempting to colonize the exact same way as England, England had to have been there first to be the first to figure out how to overcome the challenges of colonizing the new would rather than conquering it...theres a huge difference between the two...
