    I like boardman a lot! I still have my 2013 winter training bike £500 and 2 years ago I bought a brand new 2019 full carbon boardman elite air 9.2 with shimano ultegra groupset. All my mates have canondales, pinarellos,s-works and all look expensive but my boardman is more than a match for them. I loved the video . Get well soon 😊

    Boardman bikes are so freaking good. The main issue with boardman is their association with Halfords, which I believe damages the boardman brand. Many people see them just as expensive Carreras.

    • @chembleton
      @chembleton 2 года назад

      Totally agree. I've got a Boardman ADV9.0 gravel bike which has really subtle Boardman decals which I liked when i first got it. I'm this week getting the SLR9.4 and personally no longer care about the large decal. I'm fitter now and beating, even on the gravel bike, expensive road bikes. I look forward to showing up bikes 3x more expensive on the SLR. This is a cracking bike and I don't care what bike snobs think.

    Also forgot to add, you really don’t need to look too far to find 10% off at Halfords. There’s also a retrofit Quarq power-meter for an additional £230. By the time that’s discounted as well you’ve got this bike plus the power meter for £2,637

    Ex Halfords here so have had a fleet of Boardmans (MTB Pro HT26, Pro Hy CX mullet build, Team CX 1x, Road Team Carbon 2010 and 2014, Road Pro SLR'14, Elite 9.0, SLR 9, CX1 and Adv 9) the over the years and never had any issues but I maintain all my bikes regularly! Slightly harsh ride on some of SLR especially the front end, cable rattle in the downtube was annoying on the 2010-2015 bikes but super value for money. My old 2014 SLR weighted in at 7kg, full Ultegra for a bargain price.. Always thought the Elite 9.4 from 2010-2014's looked the best combo black with blocky decals, I really dislike the current Boardman decals I think cheapens the look.. Puts me puts the entire bike regardless of the spec and cost.

    The groupset maybe quiet but that hub sounds proper loud! You don't need a bell with that wheel. Great video nice to see some love for boardman they never get much love and they do quality stuff too. With your links why do you think that is? Nott the same marketing as the bigger brands ? I got boardmans carbon shoes they do for £85 recently and I am super impressed cannot get remotely close to anything else for that price.

    Thanks for the initial review, looks like a fantastic bike at this price point. Unfortunately I think its already gone out of stock in all the main sizes! So the boardman with 33:30 will be a bit higher, am I right thinking 10% higher /tougher to get up those hills in ‘sunny’ North Wales?
