I have problem in grip and my shuttle Is not reaching the back after hitting hard, I m unable to do a clear shot, i thinks it’s because of my forehand grip
I'm a right handed player. We drawed court ourselves on our street and plays daily. I play much better now, but one shot I try to stroke from left rotation which always creat pain in my elbow's front, and can't understand the right angle of that shot when the shuttle is coming at the hight of your face.
Elbow front hurt usually is because your elbow did not follow through while you swing forward which mean is the shot that you hit that you use too much shoulder
I have a question about 2:20 Isn't the wrist supposed to be in a neutral position instead of deviating to 1 side as in the frame? With that doesnt the forearm rotation comes more naturally for overhead shots?

Rotate your upper body more, at that point you will feel the only way to hit the shuttle flat without slicing is using forehand grip or slight panhandle grip.
I have a problem with backhand clear especially when playing mix double. When I serve, me and my partner will be at the centre of the court and when opponent push the shuttle to the backline of my backhand side, I will be in trouble.
Make the thumb grip and be prepared for backhand. Now you can return the backhand drive.. In case, if the shuttle comes to forehand side, you can still return with forehand side with enough power. So, that's it 🙂
There are some other differences way you can change if have trouble with BH clear. you can change serve placement, or prepare earlier by cut the shot in the middle and do not let shuttle pass you. I have backhand clear video you can check it out
I got the theory down and keep practicing the clear but when it comes in a real match, I am never able to hit it properly, like in that particular moment, it becomes impossible to take control over the body and I hit the shuttle however I can, any suggestions to improve?, also one more issue is I get smashed at often when I do a clear, any tips for that would also help! other than that great video, I'll try to implement that mini scissor jump, looks sweet!
Hi Queweth, in your stage is at stage 1 which is you know how to do it and can do it when you stand at the one position but you cant do it when you play the match. In this case the problem is that your Muscle Memory not comes out yet, so you need to practice more to work on your muscle memory and make the motion become nature. Then you will move on the the Stage 2 which you can apply the shot in your games

Your index finger would push a little bit. But wrist need to rotate in order to make your racket face be flat so you will not slice the feather

Try practicing with movement/under pressure.
