As the person behind these Proton builds for Arch and CachyOS, it is my very strong suggestion to not use proton-cachyos on PikaOS. These proton versions are not built with Steam Linux Runtime, they are built with Arch or CachyOS libraries respectively, and they might have unexpected issues and crashes with different library versions.
Hey, it's normal that reflex enabled doesn't cap framerate as on windows? Like 138 fps for a 144hz monitor.

It depends on the app. CachyOS comes fully configured / optimized for gaming. It requires less work than every other Arch based distro to tweak.
He is correct. As long you have the Ext4 filesystem, its pretty much red car blue car between em. Did benchemark Garuda, CachyOs, Endeavour and Nobara last week. They pretty much perform the same. Best one was Nobara, but from the experience i have with Nobara since october has been mixed, due some issues on the way. Know im not the only one. But now, we are talking benchmark number from my personal data in native installs. We see prolly 1-5 fps in difference between the difference distros avrage.
Now we just need DLSS Frame Generation to come to Linux!
Also HDR support to get ironed out.
there is an alternative hacky way which is dlssg to fsr3.

PikaOS wallpapers are delivered within the distro. They have a lot of choices if you are into this style.
For CachyOS proton, the package was just updated yesterday. I did update the direct link and added a little explanation for downloading the package in case there is another update. Enjoy!

A1RM4X, does you use kde on nvidia with wayland right? are you having flickering issues with 545 or above drivers? i tried on my 3080 but it only works on 535 with no issues
I am using x11. I can´t use Wayland because of the forced VSync... I tried Wayland and experienced the same type of issues too (flickering / stuttering). It is getting better but not enough for me to switch yet.
This one comes default with CachyOs. Just select it, in steam without those steps. Then you are good to go :)
Can you tell the difference between nvidia reflex on vs off? I’m gonna test it out with this proton, I had fps drops on proton ge -26 when it was enabled.
This feature is still not officially supported, I do believe that when it was inserted in proton ge 26, it was not correctly enabled.
Concerning the "feeling" on my machine, on Apex Legends I feel it in certain specific scenario (I can wall jump more aggressively with Nvidia Reflex ON for example).
i just setup cachyOs and wow super snappy, and yeah wall bounce, superglides everything fells easier@@A1RM4X
I’ve been playing on cachyOs past couple days & used mangohud to cap fps at 235 compared to steam launcher/apex limit & I had absolutely perfect frametimes/fps no spikes above cap like I had with stem cmd line cap. I use gsync & always felt like I was going in and out of gsync.
what do you recommend for gaming pikaos gnome or kde?
Even if GNOME has a really good workflow, my preference goes to KDE for all the extra features and the extra perf in game.
