There’s one more reason to replace the part. I just found a dead iguana in mine. :(. Thank you for the video, while it’s an easy replacement... I didn’t know how involved it was until I watched this.
I've done this on my dryer because the duct actually diconnected from the blower housing on its own. Honestly, it's a lousy connection and I wish he would have shown us a better way to secure it. As you can see after he installs it, it can slip back out just as easy as it went in, from vibration, like mine. My clothes began to smell burnt, thats how i knew something was wrong. I'm still worried about mine disconnecting.
So I assume they should connect cleanly without any space but when I took my dryer apart (that I’ve been using 2 years) my exhaust duct where the black part is is shaped like an oval and the thing inside the dryer is a circle so they don’t connect....
