This is by far the best and only adequate DIY instructional video about a Samsung dryer side vent kit. However, I do wish you provided a little bit more detail. For example, you took the screw off the back and did something with it inside. Discussing that step in detail, as well as where and how those tabs fit together, would really enhance this video given the limitations of what can be viewed. Thx!
Thank you for the feedback! It really helps for the future videos. The tabs should slide together and then the screw secures them. Really wish I could have found a way to put the camera on the inside but I couldn't figure out how to get it back out.
Great video. Was fearing having to take dryer apart. This video made this job very easy. Took longer to put the tape on than install fittings. I opted for using metal furnace tape just to be safe.
Hi there. How did u remove the circular hole. Ours doesn’t come proliferated. What tool would I need to use to cut a hole out? Thanks for your time and knowledge.
You could use a dremel get a metal drill bit. I would check and make sure there is a tab that folds up inside first since that’s what’s hold the turn in place. Without it there’s a chance it could come disconnected.
Did not have to cut a hole there’s a knock out in both sides. You could probably drill a hole but then you’d need to make some custom tapes to hold the joints inside too.
What tools did you use to punch the side hole out? I know it’s indented to make it easier but since I’ve never done anything like this before, I don’t know HOW to punch the hole out. Thanks in advance!
I took a flat head screw driver and a hammer and just tapped it in circle motion until it comes free. I’ve seen people just take a big wack at it and it work but that makes me nervous
It's just a cover that came with kit. Here's the link to the kit below. I couldn't find one that was sold separately but you could probably make a 4 inch PVC pipe cover work if you didn't want to get the whole thing. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FM3HGOM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Appreciate the video! Clear explanation and camera angles are really helpful!

Good tutorial, thanks for taking the time to make it. As has been said, aluminum foil tape is superior, especially long term.
Thank you! Your instructions made this installation really straightforward and simple.
Thank Marshall for your tip. I recommend aluminum tape is more riliable
Yeah judging by the comments my next video might be how to replace duck tape in dryer with aluminum tape 😅
LOL Duct tape you mean aluminum tape I hope, duct tape will turn into dust after time
How did you knock out the metal piece that was blocking the side vent hole? Mine is still in place and need to knock it out.
Flat head screwdriver and hammer. Hit the tabs with the screw driver and it should fall out.
And there’s no “45” in there - it’s a 90 degree angle.
Appreciated video but remember turn off dryer electrical power and a shut off gas supply, preferaly disconnect.

Did you cut the hole in the side of the dryer? My dryer does not have any detente or outline for a hole on the side.

Can you please tell me what that item was that you used to cap off the back? Do you know where I could find this item?

You mention a tab but I don't understand where it is. You do a bunch of things that I don't understand with your arm in the dryer.
Please provide the link for the side vent pieces.
SAMSUNG Side Vent Kit for... www.amazon.com/dp/B01FM3HGOM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
