Jason is my hero. Anytime I don't feel like practice I feel like shit because of him. The idea of not being able to play makes me cry. I wish one day that Jason could play again… We lost the very best technical guitarist with his diagnosis.
This comment is written a couple of days after the passing of Eddie Van Halen. An ALS diagnosis usually means that there aren't many years left. It is weird to think that Jason has outlived EVH.
Weird indeed. Imagine telling Eddie back then that Jason would outlive you. However, is it better to have a shorter life with all your abilities, or be in a state like Jason for many years? It’s a thought thing to think about.

The govt is going to spend almost 700 BILLION dollars to build weapons and people to launch them and I wonder how much could be discovered ref ALS with that much money.
I have been a fan of Jason since 1987. Like all of his his fans, I was very happy for him when he landed the D.L.R. gig. I don't know Jason personally but learning of his illness effected me. It still does. It was hard to watch this. One thing you can tell though is Eddie is being genuine and truly cates

Edward has come a long way from being on top of the world, falling all the way down to being a complete wreck. But he has straightened up and climbed a long way back up. I pray the same for Jason! God's continued mercy and grace on Jason, and Edward!

I gotta say that was pretty inspirational of EVH - Did Diamond Dave ever bother to do anything to help Jason out?????...seeings he played in Dave's band...Dave said he cried when he heard the news.... yet he could have done a fundraiser or something (as he has for other projects - like 'songs of love')....I feel for Jason and his family...incredibly strong and brave young man...god bless

Wow, you really need to catch up on him. ;) They just released a documentary at the end of 2012, which he has attended screenings of, called "Jason Becker: NOT DEAD YET." It's very good.
man what a great guy jason is a big influence in my music and i will always love his work just really sad that he has ALS he has helped me really come to terms with music and its meaning i will always play to his honor
My heart know's what your going through, you are in my prayer's and it get's me pissed off that not enough research is going on for MS or ALS.... This country should get there shit together and help people who are fighting these horrible fate's, I am with you and I am doing everything I can to put more research out there for you..... An update on Jason he has gained muscle back in his left hand and can use his two fingers now, so there is hope ......... And to you ASide45, I know about MS a friend of mine has it I am fighting for more research on MS & ALS..... I pray you get better and Jason keep on fighting.....
