My parents owned the 2016 V60 Polestar. Was a nice car but had an incredible amount of issues. Volvo tried to make things right by giving a lifetime warranty which would’ve been nice if someone didn’t eventually rear end us at a stop light and total it. I miss that car even with all the issues.

One Note: This car does have true one-pedal drive, and will come to a complete stop in B mode, as long as you disable creep mode. You can easily do full drives without ever touching the break pedal once it's enabled.

Picked up my ‘24 a month ago and loving it. Formerly drove the xc60 polestar and this drives much better and quicker (with upsized battery and electric motor).
Two clarifications - 1. The car does have 1-pedal driving if you turn off “creep” in settings and select B drive mode…. And it’s great.
    2. No options on this car… the price is $79k CAD. And what I can’t figure out is how the price is $71k USD south of the border (or ~$95k CAD!!!). Now Americans will come over the border for more than cheap prescription drugs but V60 polestars too!

@7:45 The car has full one pedal mode if you turn the creep off (see @8:27). Creep is the normal automatic and without creep in B mode it'll drive just like an EV.

Hear me out, I know you're not going to want to hear this, but the wagon you need to get is a B6 S4 Avant, six-speed manual, with a 2.7T swap. I was skeptical at first but I bought a sedan version with a single turbo conversion and it's the nicest vehicle I've ever driven. You can find them for less than 20K USD with fully built setups.

I saw this release a few months back after ordering my 24 Allroad Prestige w Black Optics & while this has pretty much double the hp (261hp 273lbs), & the 0-60 is like .7 quicker, I'm still content with the Allroad & still waiting for it to deliver anyways 😅 the Allroad is still quick enough for dailying, like quicker than 85% of traffic, its 0-60 is like 5s flat & has more usable features than this that I care about like cooled seats, on the fly adaptive dampers, better rear room, better ambient lighting, paddles, stuff I can change without digging thru the infotainment + physical climate controls (huge w), visible rear dual exhausts, & then it has pretty much everything else this has as well. Do wish the Allroad could stream RUclips tho my son would love that. But yea idk Volvo kinda hit a weird mark with the new V60. Hopefully these still sell well tho bc we don't need one more wagon taken off the market. We're prob losing the Audi Allroads, already only have one Avant, then merc & Volvo wagons & that's pretty much it anymore shit sucks. My GT Sport hatch was like one of the last hatchbacks we had sold new here as well. Ik in Canada yall get a few more picks tho

as a 2023 V60 Recharge owner (non-polestar), the lack of a drive mode dial could easily be ameliorated if volvo would allow drive mode to be changed by voice commands. OR, if there were a customizable row of programmable buttons somewhere on the car's infotainment screen that we could map to anything. but drive mode is one of the few things you CAN'T change with voice commands, and the infotainment/dash cluster screens don't have much if any of the vaunted customizability of android on smartphones.
Also, y'all missed that volvos don't have Android Auto, only android automotive and carplay. my car's data connection is slow enough that Tidal will sometimes get it buffering. wouldn't be a problem if i could mirror my phone.
Canada got lesser trim V60 recharges starting at $59950, for maybe 2 years, when the national government first upped the price cap for the EV rebate to 60k for SUVs/Wagons. and I think volvo did that as a favour to the government, cause it got zero publicity, i've seen none in the wild besides my own, and I wager volvo lost money on every single one versus if they could've sold the same cars in europe. I've seen only polestars in the wild. which is kinda sad imho. they're a better car for canadian roads. all the power of the polestar, but all the comfort of a normal V60, plus i can run thicker tires/18" wheels, vs the polestar needs 19s to clear the brakes. they're not perfect cars by any means, but there's nothing else on the road today i'd rather be in for the money. ramcharger might be tough though, if stellantis can do that truck right...

Nice review, however, if you turn off creep mode (above "steering feel firm") the regen will stop the car completely. And all Volvos apart from the Polestars are available with heated, cooled & massaging seats if you order the napaleather seats.

I was LITERALLY just looking up the 2024 version last night and THERE YOU ARE!!!
Another great, detailed vid. Thank you so much!
Lots of little, needed tweaks. It probably needed and deserved an interior facelift (mostly the size of the 2015 tablet), but most of it still looks clean, nice.
Is it me or... did they remove the nice lower speaker grills for the Bowers system? I see the top are still looking great, but did they used to have the steelies on the bottom?
Either way - thank you again. I may wait a year to see if I can find one used. I really didn't want to get that T8 version, just too complex.

Volvo most absolutely has had massaging seats. I test drove an S60 (they didn't have a V60 at the time) that had massaging seats. I quite enjoyed that car, but in the end it was a lot of money for what you got.

Trying to reconcile the fact that you've got manually adjustable shocks in a $75k vehicle that is ultimately supposed to be luxury vehicle (albeit a sporty luxury choice). Also, if it ain't in "polestar Blue," it ain't coming home to my driveway. haha. Seriously though, I think this Volvo still has that Volvo problem...a lot of money and not quite as good as it's competition in multiple areas? Would have liked to hear the fellas talk more comparisons on this one as they sometimes do. That said, current Volvo design language is GORGEOUS, IMO.

Beautiful and fun car, great review. I’ve owned many Volvos including a loaded 2019 XC90, BUT, unless they’ve fixed their silly Swedish software choices, I never plan to buy another one. The two main issues involved the cruise control and the power locks. The cruise control logic is reversed from every other car; a momentary speed-increase button push increases speed by 5 mph while a long push is required to increase in one mph increments…crazy! For the power locks, when yiu and your spouse are exiting the car, you have to stand by the door and wait until everyone has exited and closed their door before you can press the exterior lock button to lock the doors. On every other car, you can exit and push the lock button, then when everyone else closes their doors, the doors lock. These are minor but very aggravating issues that you have to deal with every day. A deal breaker for me and my wife.

The gear shifter depends on what model, you didnt have to doble press on all of the last v60s. But on some. And still now, some xc60s you need to double press, and some you don't. Depends on trim, engine etc.
