I dislike how dance schools often associate skill level with age and also categorize it like that. Beginner is like 12-16 and intermediate 16-20. That's why I like steezy. There are no restrictions, you can just learn whatever you want whenever you want.
Same same it’s frustrating definitely with ballet or contemporary classes
It's because usually mainly in ballet or contemporary, the dancers start at a very young age for, in the future, becoming professional dancers. And that is usually the age for begginers to have enough time to, at their 18s be already graduated.
But some schools don't, their classes are (for ballet): baby initialization, juvenile (begginers, intermediate, advanced) and adult (B, I, A as well). But you gotta be careful bc there are schools who focus on profissional formation and others in just casual dance.
I am stuck in the beginner class cause I am 13😢 it's the worst thing cause you have to do the most simple moves all the time
@@emanuelazizic8126 but that is the MOST important part! You gotta create body and muscle consciousness! If you don't do this simple moves, you won't be able to do de hard ones. I didn't started by the basics because I thought that I was good enough... Well I'm not and now I have to run over it because it's not easy without the basics. The basics are your foundation.
Work hard on it and you'll be a great dancer in the future. Practice those everyday but don't skip the basics!
I recommend you also to just start looking at other movements from intermediate and try it!
@@mee7055 the problem is that I already know the basics but I am stuck in the low level group for years bc I am young

also if you can practice with a mirror it helps a lot to adjust the move according to yourself and to not look wack or like a bug that is dying because of bug spray thanks
Apart from the joke this is really important for learning dance lmao 😂😂😂
The thing is I know that but I dont have a mirror at home... only in the bathroom and there I can only see my face ☹️
@@DP-mv7ph same
You perfectly explained how i looked like dancing🌚
@@DP-mv7ph that's sad lol but in my case i have a big mirror that's enough to see myself dancing and its large kinda like those mirrors you see in dance studios except smaller in a way? Lol idk
I honestly want to learn how to be amazing dancer like Jimin or J-hope or any BTS member because they are all amazing dancers as well as you guys :))
So true 💜💜

GAHAHAHAHAHAHA STEEZY REALLY SAID WHO'S YOUR FAVORITE K-POP DANCER
also me : *wants to list about 40+*
I just discovered Choi San from ATEEZ today bc he really popped👏tf👏off👏 in Wonderland! What style of dance would that be considered as?
i have the same question
Lmao I wonder too
lmao i think that's a part of dance, flexibility?? like his moves and range is so big and his neck might pop off anytime it's killing meee!!
San Satan style! :P
I always thought it was a part of Krump! A lot of their chore has heavy krump moves in it :)
San has developed those moves according to what their songs call for, feeling of the music and his body awareness.
He's my ultimate bias👏
I'm so happy I subscribed to this channel! I learn so much from you guys!! I danced since I was little and never took classes. I don't think I've had a foundation but I've watched all kinds of dances and practiced dancing with the music so it'll be fun learning different styles and moves. 💚💜💚
In ballet we have something called marking the dance. Our teachers never let us stand around to watch, we need to do a "draft" of the moves. This was great advice.
could you elaborate on that? You do a "Draft" of the moves, meaning what exactly?
@@theluckyproject8044 marking is focusing on the position of where your hands and feet should be, where certain parts of your body should move toward and stuff like that but not doing the dance full out. You're doing like 30% of the actual movement of the dance and just hitting the marks where your body should be positioned.

BLACKPINK LISA (a thai girl and a member of the biggest kpop girl group BLACKPINK) made me love to dance, i love to dance but not that more when i saw Lisa dancing on her lilifilms
She's the one who made me dance again, cuz i haven't danced for a while yet hehe
Is contemporary classes available at steezy app ?
i like dean too
Classes from Mr.Wiggles, Jazzy J, Hitmaster Fish please!!!
Well all that was a big DUUUUHHHH! This is just a confirmation of what we know mainly through common sense.
Kai from Exo is my favorite dancer, I´d love to dance similiar but I think getting ballet basics is probably harder you get? I think he had ballet and jazz influence his style...

My favorite dancer j hope from bts and Lisa from blackpink
Take inspiration from other dancers too like baily sok, ygx (it's a group) noze and a lot more we can't be stuck on bts and Blackpink forever.
may I have nct 127 - kick it dance tutorial from steezy? I think their intro and dance break untill the end kinda hard...
Off topic but I actually started dancing at 7 because of dance mom's and I only knew how to do the little contemporary moves and pirouettes but kpop got me into the real world of dancing,I see ballet, hip hop, jazz, freestyle and I immediately fell more in love with dancing.Lisa from blackpink gave me the motivation to dance more and so I did.
At first I learned the simple blackpink dances then I moved on to a few bts and eventually got into the others from everglow.I started doing harder choreography like miroh,ON,DNA and so on.
I'm not a pro dancer I'm a OK one.I dance at home from I was 7 years old.I never took dance classes so I'm pretty proud to say I'm the best dancer in the house.Dancing is a passion and I really love it.
If I'm tired I still dance,if I'm sick I still dance or if I don't feel like to dance I would do this little move from a bts or seventeen choreo😂
And Ellen and Brian actually made me more determined to be a skilled dancer bc of how good they are.Since I'm a kpop Stan and I see the idols(especially groups like bts, blackpink and stray kids) I've always wanted to know what it's like being a kpop idol performing. So when I dance I imagine there's a audience watching me.
I've started to think about how I want to become a kpop idol,I'm 13(turning 14 this year).Im not a skilled singer but I can rap pretty fast.😂😂But my main technique and talent is dancing
Thank u for reading my story;)
U can share yours with me
I wanna dance like j hope in bts
In the aspect of dance he is my role model, I hope this helps me to fulfil my dreams

Favorite idol hmm... Lee Taemin, the dance legend of kpop. Can't be anyone else.
My man out here stating facts.
And that’s on my death bed
I love him!!!
I would have to disagree.......
CAUSE HE'S A GOD😂😂😂
my fav kpop dancer is hyunjin from stray kids! when he came to his company (JYP), he came without knowing how to dance (he was street casted). he learned it from scratch and now he's one of the main dancers of stray kids! he stands out with his strong, deadly expressions!!! another favorite of mine with a similar background is taeyong, the leader of NCT (SM entertainment)!
Man! You just stated my biases from the two groups😂

I've been dancing for 2 years but I'm struggling to improve and I think it's because I have no dance foundation. Have been torn about signing up for Steezy, but this video has convinced me to sign up to Steezy for a year! 😂

yes please let us know your experience
I’m curious too
Same,I have no foundation,but I'm trying
Omg sameee😩🤚🌬☄️
Here my tips:
1.dont overwork itll just tiremur body out.
2. Learn from your mistakes.
3. Learn the music before the dance.
4.Do one move at a time til, it all peices together.
5. Test out different styles and see which ones fit you

Lmao Jessie roasted me at the end of the video cause I mentioned 2 kpop idols on one of their videos and that comment got a lot of likes 😂 I'M SORRY JESSIE, THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS
What.
Is memorizing kpop choreographies can be a foundation?😊
It's a fun way to start and some of the moves are simple enough that they really show off how strong your foundation is. (ex. grooves in those catchy, repetitive, moves in the hook of a song). Although, you should eventually try to get a deeper understanding behind what makes those moves look good, which is hard without some sort of instruction. It'll also help those moves feel more comfortable when you do them.
Not really, but its a fun way to get introduced to dancing.
A lot of Kpop chreographies, if not all, are build on hip hop, so you should definitely learn the basics.
That's more like going straight into reading books instead of learning the alphabet.
@@jonah8231 Oof can you send me then some good videos? i dont know where to start and i look very awkward when i dance,. i thought i could see some difference when i start learning some kpop dances but honestly i dont see any improvement
My facourite kpop dancer at the moment is nct haechan!

Can someone give out some advice to someone who started dance late like 13 years old (1 year ago for me) I do hip hop classes but I want Try to do Jazz and tap just to be more diverse in my dance skill set but mostly enjoy and best at hip hop. And ballet maybe too but I think it’s too late for that. But the thing is when I go to dance concerts I feel so embarrassed because I started super freaking late and my friends who are like younger or same age as me basically already know the basics and are super advanced. I just wish I was that good and I feel SUPER dumb since i started so late. Help please!
Heyy it's never too late to start something especially since you are still in your teens. I started to actually love dancing at 17 tho. Don't push yourself to be good immediately just because the people around you are already good at it. Take your time to tackle one thing at a time. Only you can control your own pace and how you learn. Be passionate, take inspirations from other resources to develop your own style and never stop improving 😊
I started tap and jazz at 13 with no prior experience ! There will be a bit of a learning curve but by the time I hit 15 I was able to dance with people my own age. If you enjoy it go for it! And even when I did tap and jazz my dance teacher always suggested ballet. It’s going to take some time ! Don’t be so hard on yourself ! Keep at it and you’ll do great
i started this year and im 17 turning almost 18. wherever you go in any field or sport theyll say it just takes time and dedication. i also feel ridiculously slow and behind but the more i tend to enjoy it rather than focusing physically i find myself S L O W L Y getting better. keep on dancing cause anyone can do it 👀
I would literally give anything just to be 13, I'm 17 and I started a few months ago and I also feel like I started late and that I don't have enough time, but the truth is you had to start some day and you can't change the fact that you didn't start since you were a kid, just be happy that you started now because that's also not late.
I'm 17 and I of course still don't know most of the things, but when you be 17 you'll know a lot of things so try to think in that positive way. We all think that life is short and it is, but we can do what we want to, life is just ahead of us and I know a lot of people who are 50 and older and they are still dancing, even better than a lot of younger ones. So don't worry about that just imagine yourself in 10 years you'll be greeeat! It's normal that you feel that way because they are dancing longer than you, but they also had to start somewhere and they also had to learn and practice, just remember that, they weren't always that good and full of knowledge, so just be positive and don't give up and it's gonna be great
Firstly, dancing is simple enough (you can become a superb dancer with only 5 years of dedicated learning) so it’s never late to start dancing :). The key to all that is patience and dedication, also, don’t compare yourself to others and don’t pressure yourself unless u feel it’s necessary. Do it with love and passion, it’s about the emotion, not about anything else :)
I love how everyone in the comment section was motivated, and I hope they're working towards that goal right now. Same story I was fascinated by Mark and Taeyong from NCT, and I wanna have the same dance style like theirs. I started since April, still continuing today. I've been doing dance analysis too, but seeing my self dance in a video, hahaha. I almost give up, but I realized it's never too late, Seulgi and Taeyong wasn't born to be a dancer, yet they're looked up right now. It's all in all guys, it's never too late, just keep going.

Watch k-pop, you'll automatically become a dancer.😂
1. Learn the right thing
2. Practice (interleaved practice)
3. Quiz - hard (don't just copy, learn & understand)
4. Pace yourself (be patient!)
4.1 watch vid (how much you need to practice to become an amazing dancer)
when I was 8 years old , our dance teacher was trying to teach us a group dance which i was unable to grasp..so she slapped me and told me I cannot dance and i must not come to her class .if i did go to her class she would make me stand at the back . I'm 32 years now . i haven't danced since that episode even at my own wedding i told PPL who were pulling me to dance that i don't know how. anyways i want to learn now ..for my baby . i want to model to my child that we are not what others tell us we are.. although i believed it for 24 years of my life .
the worst thing about me and dancing that i got annoyed easily for learning specific moves
it's not that can't learn them but i just get bored
Learn it anyway.. Dance requires time and sacrifice
How to build you foundation:
1- learn the right thing
2- practice: interleaved practice
3- quiz hard: stop copying from the teacher
4- pace yourself
That last comment she made had me rofl & I'm a serious Kpop fan...hehe!😭😂💜
