My fav video was "are you too old to start dancing?" It seems like mental/emotional hurdles (thinking you're too old, poor, fat, whatever it is) when it comes to learning dance aren't addressed much, even though those feelings are real and so common! That video encouraged me and now I'm dancing on Steezy almost every day lol. Much love 💕
I looked up that one as well honestly. I'm mid 30's, and have always had a basic interest in dance. But since I've been doing Just Dance to help me lose weight, I've developed an interest in making my dancing look cleaner, which led to me wondering if I'd left it too late to take up dancing. Thankfully, much assurance has been found that, no, it's not too late at all. I have a little bit of belly I'm trying to shift as well, but I'm still hugely enjoying myself.
It doesn't help that most dance classes in dance studios are age related. Like beginner class: age 6-10, intermediate class: age 10-14 or something like that. I'm an absolute beginner but I don't want to dance with 6 year olds 😅 It can be very hard to find a dance studio that even offers beginner classes for teenager+ people.
even in things like building habits or finishing work as soon as possible, we often talk about the practical steps to get there. we talk less about the mental/emotional part, which is an issue because our mindset & emotional attitude has a big impact on our performance overall
Taking my first dance class tomorrow night. 28 with no experience. Sooooo nervous and afraid of looking stupid and being the only one with no experience. I have no idea what to expect. But biting the bullet because I've been wanting to do this for years!

But now im finally learning a bit and this video was really helpful!
So great news, I started and noticed a lot of my weak points like not having control on my body, not feeling it enough and not having confidence.
But bad news, i can't find a way to overcome them. I know I should practice a lot but 😢😢😢 I'm so depressed that most of the time I don't even feel like getting up
Basics foundation of dancing
Every style has it own set of foundations

When I record myself dancing, my arms look good but my legs look a little awkward. I was just wondering if you could give me tips to make my legs less awkward.
