I mean... she called you a dingleberry....
My dance teacher used to always say to take criticism as a compliment. If you get critiqued, it means that someone is paying attention to you and (most of the time) is trying to help you improve because they care about you.
Thank you so much I needed this❤️❤️❤️❤️
I got chucked out of my dancing class because I wasn't improving. And don't misunderstand, I hold myself responsible for that, but I guess sometimes criticism isn't so innocent after all since it can lead to frustration and rejection (in this case not mine but my teacher's). Like everything in life it's a gamble and no one person truly knows which direction things might develop towards.
@@Andyp12 oh goodness, that's terrible! And I'm so sorry that happened to you. Yes, I agree; people are very capable of acting out of a wrong place in their heart. I guess everyone has to use their own judgment in each situation.

Yes constructive criticism is good but sometimes people especially on the internet just say "you suck". 😐 ok?? What do want me to do about it??? How do I suck?

The reason why my dancing sucks:
1 I'm extremely shy
2 I have no confidence
3 I always think "that I can't do it"
4 I never get to practice dancing
5 My body is super stiff
Edit: Thank you for all the likes and comments 🥺 I really appreciate it!
Well ya ain't gonna be good at it unless ya practice
its already a good first move that you acknowledged all those points! Now you just need to try to change them!
that ties into the mindset, as they said, try your best to step out of your comfort zone. baby steps
A thing that I used to do when I first started dancing, was look for a cute coreo, and delete some dance moves until I felt like the coreo was something I could do. In a month or so of practice, came back to the coreo and add a few steps, or change them all, but make them a little bit harder. It really help me to cordinate myself and the tempos. I used to dance upgrade U, it got a lot of energy, and there are some good coreos for it.

Oh my gosh how did you know?
“Flowing the oxygen through your veins”
“Did I turn into a doctor?”
Oxygen flows through the arteries, not veins.
Lmao 😂
Sanjanasri Vedavyas this cracked me up omg😂
even though the blood that contains oxygen is called arterial blood and that most veins carry blood that contain little oxygen, there is actually the pulmonary vein which transports oxygen-rich blood back to the heart
MJ FB I know that, but the pulmonary vein is an exception. The only reason it’s even called a vein is cuz the blood flows towards the heart and they wanted that to be the defining characteristic of veins.
Also, I know veins contain an amount of oxygen, but it’s lower than arteries and it should preferably not be there. So people consider that oxygen flows in the arteries and that arteries contain oxygenated blood.
If you want to get even more technical, the Oxygen itself doesn't *flow* through anything, the blood carries it.
"and beyond the dancing, you listen to the same music, day in, and day out."
i feel so attacked-

Sadly it's hard to find people who can actually give *constructive* critism. I mainly know people who would say something like:
"You suck."
"You can't dance."
"Even a snail could do better."
And when you would ask what you could do better, they just say:
"I don't know, you just suck."
Or friends are like:
"whoa you're so good"
And I feel embarrassed because on one hand I'm happy, on the other hand I feel like there's something which keeps me from accepting that comment...
People just don't want to hurt your feelings
DJ_SUGA EXACTLY. And sometimes I know I wasn’t good enough but I can’t get the feedback I want because people want to be nice or polite, or they don’t know how to critique, and it lowkey frustrates me
@@Arinaretina I feel you girl 😢

What I learned: (seriously)
Dancing is not just about having fun. It's also a way of telling how you feel, in other words it's a way of expressing yourselves through dancing and a way of telling a story. Dancing is also about giving emotions to your story, which makes it even more alive. If your expressing a dance all by yourself then you have to make sure that your moves are properly executed that way the viewers will understand how your feeling in your own perspective, and if your expressing a story with people. Make sure that the formation is simple but powerful at the same time by giving it life that way the viewers can understand the message behind the dance. This is why I love dancing even though I suck and my moves are stiff too but I don't care as long as I can be happy
@Emely urbina 25 if someone judges your dancing they are trying to give you more motivations for doing it better next time, don't take that mindset like "oh they don't like my dancing because I still need improvement" yeah something like that, I'm terrible at explaining
@@emmakimtv7463 I feel to old to stard dancing 😢

My SELF tips:
1. Be DEDICATED
2. EXPRESS yourself
3. Believe that YOU CAN
4. NEVER stop learning
5. Just ENJOY
I always believe anyone could dance as long as you welcome yourself into it. Goodluck!

The best tips that I know is..
Just relax your body and feel the music
Enjoy yourself when you dance
Don’t hear people’s hate comments
If you’re stiff when dancing just keep practicing
If you’re shy, practice when nobody’s around
Keep practicing!!! You got this :)
that is so sweet
I was a bad dancer before this channel... Thank you two!
Yeah, same here. Come let's take 🤳😄
I also recommend recording yourself while practicing since we can’t see every movement we make while dancing.
When you record yourself and watch the video afterwards you can see if you lack energy/if your facial expressions aren’t good/if your moves aren’t sharp/if your moves are to stiff and more!
It helped me a lot bc I’m still a beginner but since I started recording myself I got better!

Totally true
Y'all I have almost no space but I tried and saw everything that's wrong!!! Now I can proudly say I can give up on dancing!
I cringe every single time lol
*I want to show this to my classmates who dance to k-pop who thinks they're good which is actually cringy.*
+ I see some of you feel called out but don't worry. Don't take my comment personally! Your dancing will improve, if it makes you happy keep doing it.
OMG SAME
We all have that one friend 😂😂😂
Ouch haha
TBH. This is a lot of people in the kpop fandom... just bc you can follow moves doesn’t mean you can dance. It’s like playing piano, just bc you can mimic a musicians order pushing keys doesn’t mean you can play.
It also depends on what dances she's learning. Some people do the most basically kpop dances and are so fun to watch. Whole others can do the hard stuff and I'm sleeping

Before when I was learning a dance to a show or school ending and stood at home practicing it I always thought "yeah it's just rehearsal" so I never gave my full, so when the day of the show came I thought "now I have to give 100% "but I did just as I did when I was practising at home because my body was used to it and not to what the dance really should be so it looked very limp and boring .... so a tip is to think that there is a big the audience looking at you so that you automatically smile and give everything

guys the „get into your feels“ tip is soooo helpful and really one of the biggest reasons your dancing sucks. i’ve been dancing for almost a year now and i’m far from perfect (i still lack a lot of body control. especially my arms) but one day i deadass started actually feeling the music and not only did it look better, but dancing actually felt fun and nice instead of like a chore. GET INTO YOUR FEEEELS
0:34 Hey! who filmed me dancing? ;-;
Yeontan what are you doing here?!!
Yeotan
feel sorry for u lol
reasons why i suck:
-when i dance i tend to make the dance really messy bc of my movements
-it takes me a lot of time to learn the choreo and get it right
omg update😩
i can now make my moves less messy and more sharp still with my style and now learning a choreo is much easier :)
for real
@@b.vprithika hey! so let me tell you my dance journey i think i started in 2018 where i used to watch a lot of kpop choreos and then i started to learn them and i started my dance account. i continued doing kpop covers until beginning of 2020 and then stopped bc i wasn’t motivated anymore. at that time (beg of 2020) i had started afrobeat dance (level 1) which i did once a week. at the end of the year the dance company had a dance show and i participated. this year i wanted to dance more so i’m doing afrobeat which i am on level 2 now and hiphop dance!
basically how i got better in dance was that i practiced a lot. i wasn’t good at first i was really messy and i didn’t pay attention to details in choreos. in addition to that i filmed myself and compared myself to the choreo i was learning so i could see the problems to then work on them!
i hope this helped!
@@b.vprithika but to dance good it didn’t take me days but years of practice! i would say in two years of dancing you would have a good base level.
"You dont have to get up"
They know we're all watching the dance video on our beds.
When I was a little kid I used to dance a lot and I never went to places to learn to dance, I only danced at home but then I moved to another country and stopped dancing but I still danced sometimes, my mom told me that she was amazed of how good I was at dancing because when she was young she often saw people dance on tv so she knew when someone is good or bad at dancing and I was good. One day I was at my school and there was school thing or something and we students who wanted to perform we could choose to dance or sing or do something to perform to school and I chose to dance because I wanted to so we had some weeks to practice at home and one day we had to perform what we were gonna do and when it was my turn to show what I was gonna do I danced and then I was finished...my teacher said that I couldn’t dance... but the thing is that the kids were nice to me afterwards and they just stared at me when I was dancing without making any sound and they didn’t even laughed at me and the words that my teacher said hurt me a lot because dancing is like my identity and when that happened I stopped dancing ...
Teachers can be assholes. My gym teacher once kicked me out for marking off a girl for her pacer and her pushups, she also got kicked out. I wasn't there when we did the pacer and I get it, something had to be done, but to kick us out of the class for the entire time was a bit far. I also remember that she gave us a lecture, which I think should've been the better option. Mind you that everyone hated her. I loved those teachers that are hard on kids, but she was the one I actually loathed.
Wendy Soyl i know im late but never stop doing what you love ,NEVER
All of this people that are famous dancers were told someday that they werent good enough, but now they are amazing because they didnt stop
Dont let her stop you
Continue. People would always have something to say.
Hey don't let her Stop you. I too got the same remark from a teacher a year ago. It really hurt. Infact made me so self conscious that I stopped dancing. But you know what I love it. So fu*k whatever anyone wants to say. I'll dance. If someone's opinion is constructive then sure we should improve but what your teacher said wasn't. So keep on following your passion.

I think the tip about choosing a setting or character for yourself would be helpful in this case. You could think “I’m a badass mean girl at school who’s #1 in everything and a bitch with sass”, there are many options but I personally use this character for this dance.
The fact that RUclips recommended this after I watched BTS' ON Dance tutorial...
I swear I'm not offended

This is true. Stepping outside of your comfort zone allows you to learn other zones. I enjoy multiple zones.
Just joined and did my first few basic lessons today. Finding the beat, shifting my weight, two-step, etc. Man, did I sweat, and I realized how out of shape I am! BUT! It’s a hella lot more fun than going to the gym and wasting away on a treadmill, AND I’m learning a skill at the same time. I am 35 years old, and only JUST NOW started believing that I could do anything I wanted to do.
…..so yes, these are amazing tips for your dancing, but they are slapping down facts when it comes to life as well. Breathe, change your mindset, challenge yourself, and be whatever the hell you wanna be. (Oh, and don’t compare yourself to others. That too.)
As a dancer I can agree with almost every statement on this list and they are all really important. But there is one I can think of and that's finding your own groove. Especially In freestyle this could make you stand out from others as it's your own unique way to move. To help develop this in class i usually the the choreo as clean as i can then add my own "flavour" to it. However dont always use it it depends on what the teacher or the choreographer wants at that time.
Wow😮
You guys talked the exact problems that i was facing and the negative feedback was the hit one. Thank you so much ❤❤

Reasons why I suck at dancing:
-I’m embarrassed to dance even in my room alone.
-I give up easily and get VERY upset over little things
-I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person more stiff and with less rythem then me.
-I can’t even move my arms in a smooth way
-I have horrible breathing control
-I’m very impatient
But guess what! I’m still gonna keep tryinggggg
This really made me think. Maybe I’m not always dancing and I hadn’t even realized it! Now that you’ve brought it to my attention, I can definitely say there’s a clear distinction between when I'm feeling the music and dancing versus just going through the motions.

they were so straightforward, love that.
You are probably the first channel that actually made me subscribe when I was told to 😂
in all my months of dancing i only did 2-3 dances max.. then i would lose confidence and stop dancing, today is the first time i danced 7 and a half songs without losing confidence because of the fact that i imagined myself in a setting or scenario that would go good with my moves and after dancing with those in mind i feel amazing and satisfied, it really challenges you cause you really do get in your feelings. thank you.

As a dancer myself who figured all this out a year ago after several years of "dancing," I have to tell every person who's frustrated that it's true. Breathe, feel the music and be confident. It shows.
And no, people are not gonna stare at you and make fun of you in dance class if you're "bad." People are either caught up in themselves while practicing and learning, or they look at the best dancing to get inspired. Try catching yourself and who you look at, too.

Recently I decided that I want to do more dancing. I’ve wanted to become fitter and get into a workout routine for a while. I always enjoyed dancing but my insecurities and laziness didn’t let me.
I have sense of rhythm. I love to sing, always have. But I struggle with my coordination and sometimes balancing my body is tough 😂 maybe dancing will help. Also maybe I’ll be more confident and not worry about how I look... and then it’ll hopefully look better.
Another thing to add to the stiff tip -- if you're not breathing, you can stiffen up your neck/back/shoulder without knowing making you stiffer. And while some choreos can require you to stiffen up your body, there's a difference in purposely stiffening up your neck and not. So it's good to breathe and really relax your body and get into the dance.
For real vibe is everything.... transmits the beefy and it’s more important than technique for me.

I love dancing and I started dancing when I was 10 (I'm 16 now). It's because of kpop, I started dancing not just to copy their moves but to DO the moves and how they really execute it. But Since that age, I never had this proper dance training. I just learn and do the choreography of each dance by watching a mirror version of it. I'm Confident that I Know the moves, but sometimes I'm not really confident if I'm going to show it. It feels like, as you said, I'am not really dancing. And I'm sad about that because I want to be a performer.
So well done! I’m impressed!

Ok so here's my story why can't I dance (cuz I don't have anyone to share it so imma write it here:)
So when I used to dance in my childhood my mom just used to make fun of me. Once I was dancing in my cousins wedding and she was always see she can't dance she isn't flexible and stuff like that. And that stuff Is stuck in my head like since my childhood and I stopped dancing since then. Everytime I see someone dancing I just feel like I wish I could dance like that or I just don't even try to dance bcoz whenever I start to dance everything just comes to my mind and I feel like everyone will make fun of me. So I stopped dancing eventually and now I don't even move my leg when someone's dancing. Childhood memories suck sometimes. But now I'm just trying to get out of it and learn to dance and hopefully I would be wble to dance freely without worrying about anything like I used to do when I was a kid
Hey Khushi. I kinda went through the same thing and I'm trying to re learn dancing again. It's really hard, but we have to keep pushing through, right. You might benifit from getting a dance partner. Hope you're doing good
