Hi John, like you I wanted Aussie made too, so I waited for Kaon to design theirs and I can say I'm more than happy with it. I bought the shelf and lightweight barrier as a kit and it fits my needs perfectly. Thanks for the video! Keep them coming. Enjoy your trip overseas!
I have just had a set of Drifta drawers and fridge slide fitted today at their Gloucester factory I am very happy with them and the quality is excellent.
Pleased to hear that. Have been wondering about the slides but all I hear is good comments from those that have them. Might be the way to go. Thanks for the comment, John
Hi John I also have the Kaon barrier and shelf. I noted attached to your barrier a Firestryker fire extinguisher. Kaon sell these also. Have you had any experience with them? Effective? They are nice and compact, but relatively expensive compared to standard’ extinguishers ( but what price do you put on safety?) Cheers
Actually used a firestryker. I did however do a bit of research and decided it was worthwhile. It seems more effective than a dry powder and leaves no residue. Also Les weight.
Looks like it might be a little closer to the ceiling compared to Bison product, meaning not quite the same storage capacity. Could just be the camera angle I guess. My shelf is approximately 190 mm between roof lining and rack.
I skipped the bushes as I couldnt work it out, but will call KAON and ask to send the right ones. worst part was taking out the factory cargo barrier a few words may have been said
They should let the bloke who designed or built the thing write the note in the box of new parts , it would go something like this "We had a bit of a stuff up but here are the right parts " . not wishy washy airy fairy PR talk that only makes it worse .
Actually, I recently purchased and installed the very same model Kaon shelf. Like John, I had "trouble" fitting the bushing. It is a high quality elastomer material but my ageing fingers were not strong enough to force it over the OEM cargo barrier fitting. I warmed the material with a hair dryer, coated it with a dab of detergent and it slid into place.... I rang Kaon and spoke to the developer to let him know. He was most receptive and agreed that the bushing hole to accommodate the OEM fitting could be widened a fraction without compromising the integrity of the bush which has a retaining track just inside the lip to retain the disc-shaped protrusion on the OEM fitting. This is probably what's been done... The product, I might add, was presented in high quality packaging, the instructions were written in clear, gramatically correct English... They are a hard working, responsive company without pretensions. Pleasure to deal with!
That's the way things are today. The product is high quality and I am very happy with it and pleased to have a good Aussie company making stuff. Ok the bushes were not right but I am sure they will rectify that. Cheers John
Used and have a lot of Kaon products and they are usually pretty good, professionally made and look the goods.
Hard working Australian company.
Totally agree , I will always go for Australian made if I can.
John

Hi John. Do you still have your Grenadier?
Sure do but I have been overseas for a while. Heading off on a trip next week and can’t wait to get back behind the wheel.

Well spotted, the Kaon is 175mm not a great difference in it. Thanks for the comment, John

Definitely get the bushes. Yes. When I said a bit tricky I really meant pain in the A getting it out 😂. Cheers John
I know Aussie get upside down confused but didn’t realise front and rear was a problem 😂😂
Not only that we have there steering wheel on the wrong side!!! No wonder we get confused 😆 Cheers John
@ no it’s on the correct side it’s the rest of the world that’s wrong 😂🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴
