    A nice outing Marc. Thanks for sharing and for the toast tip. That old steel frypan sure brought memories as my folks had one exactly like it. They kept it from a tourist camp north of Massey they co-owned in the late 40s. I Used it on canoe trips in Algonquin back in the mid 70s and made it look brand new by rubbing in beach sand for hours when wind bound for 2 days. Will have to check out the thrift and antique shops now so I can find one to refurbish and season properly LOL. Cheers and have a great Family day weekend.

      Well one does have to keep busy at something when wind bound😆 My pan is old, my best guess the 50's. And it is a favourite!
      Thanks Mark for coming out✌️

    Wow friend, only you know all the secrets of how to camp. The snow is coming and it will be more dangerous to go out camping. I had never seen toast made on the stove. Blessings to my great friend.

      The dogs had fun running the woods! We all got in some good exercise and fresh air! Just remember 0 Celsius is both the freezing and melting point of water👍

    Looked like a great time. I love hot tent camping when I can. I sometimes bring dry firewood too. There's a lot of chores that need doing and sometimes it's nice to have 1 less thing to worry about.

      I wish I could have stayed out there longer! I was enjoying myself out there. The Lexy cam is touch and go as she has a bounce to her step so its hard to get great footage from it.

    Just saw your RUclips link from Instagram and seeing how I do a bit of hot tenting had to check this one out , instant subscriber here I browsed your list earlier and definitely more I want to check out , I was out in my tent last night I think the temps dropped to -15 lol. Was thankful for my stove. I'm hoping to get a tent like you have there my old prospector tent is time consuming to set up and heavy to carry around.

      Thanks for the sub my friend! Those prospector tents were the way to go at one time! I've done many moose hunts and winter fishing trips with them, but they work better accompanied with a snow machine and a chain saw😂
      Thanks again I'll see you soon✌️

    Good idea to bring dry firewood with you. It can be very difficult to find dry wood especially in the fall when the rains have started. Looks like you're going to need to buy another cot because yours has been claimed by the dogs. I always like the idea of a tent with a wood stove. So much better to have heat inside than out at a campfire at this time of year. The Toast trick stuck to to the stove makes me think you're not from planet Earth! That's is the Kind of thing an Alien does in his spaceship! Never heard of that one. What other things did you learn when you were taken up in their Saucer? Nice outing with the dogs and you got a few birds too. Sure looks like Moose would frequent the area. I heard from old timers that they'd rather run into a bear than a Moose. They can be very unpredictable. Although, TRUE STORY: when I was a little kid, playing in a sandbox, a cow moose exited the woods and came right up to the sandbox and sniffed my head. I was about 7 years old and I remember the hot breath on me. It wandered off and a neighbour picked me up and I stayed kind of stiff and quiet for about 30 minutes afterwards. Sort of shocked, I guess. I have forever since thought of the Moose as an animal I have a connection with, in some way.

    • @OpenAirOutdoors
      @OpenAirOutdoors  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thats an awesome story👍 But yes mostly in the fall moose are really aggressive! Ok so you got me figured out, my space ship crashed long ago and I've been stranded here ever since 😂 I do have another cot on order actually and it's not for the dogs, I swear! 😆
      Thanks Craig the moose whisperer ✌️

      The reason I know that you are an Alien is that toast idea is "Out Of This World!" Sticking bread to the pipe is a fantastic idea for toast. PS You'll need three cots: one for each dog and one for Doug....Ok Four. 👽@@OpenAirOutdoors
