Mate, you literally saved my life. I've had a fussy customer, and after replacing the screen on her surface pro 3, I just could not manage to turn it on. Looked at this video, found the problem, got it fixed. I was ready to give tablet price refund to the customer. Thumbs up buddy !!
100% the exact same problem I'm having. I knew there was a bridge between the video and LCD cable but didn't see one for the power cable. I suspected it might have one, but all of the tear down sites I used didn't mention it (although they specifically mention the LCD bridge.) I put a piece of kapton tape over the socket while I was working on it and the bridge was stuck to the tape. Good catch my guy, thank you for the video. I would have never thought to look at the tape for the piece.
once i lost the lcd connector bridge part and never found and could not find the online in UK so i soldered lcd connector to the board took a bit of time but as it was worst nightmare of repair lab. i had to made i lot of jumpers lcd connector to board and all worked. Fun Fact. i tested the connectors on board and to my surprise a lot of them were ground GND...
My surface pro type cover doesn't work. I tried keyboard with another tab it works. I tried my tab with another key board doesn't work. Seems like connection is an issue. Anything i can do to repair it?
I have one Surface Pro 1 and the usb port is not working. I bought with this problem without knowing it. Have you done any repairs of this kind? Is it possible to repair? Thanks.

Thanks for the video. I had the spacer in but it still wasn't turning on. Took it apart and reseated the spacer and it started working!
