It was exactly the same connector. Could have just transferred. Saved time. Great videos
yes see that too same pin count and all text on is same in that conector
Saved time. No.
Full disassembly on surface is muxh longer to get under board.
What was the difference between the donor connector, and the broken one ? They looked absolutely identical imo.
Nothing, they were identical. However, sometimes Alex likes to showboat his skills to gain more subs.
@@bozak2320 i think the customer would've rather had a whole connector.
@@bozak2320 i'm pretty sure he likes to showboat regardless!
“Tell me that’s not art?”
It’s art bro. Beautiful to behold.
Thank you.
Perhaps the donor connector was also missing a pin. Maybe he was just giving you an option if you ever run into a non available connector. You just got a free education on what to do if it was unavailable. Great video.
Alex, thank you for making these videos. I have learned quite a bit from watching them. The products you offer on your website are really good quality. I just wish my hands were steady enough to do the type of repairs that you do.
Love watching your videos. Not only are you saving peoples devices, you stop them from going to landfill prematurely. Great Artisan at work here.
it's unfortunate that he didn't realize the donor connector was the exact same connector.. same size, same amount of pins same text on it.. acer 4d on the right and 1 on the left.
@@supersilverhazeroker yes, shame that we learned a technique as a result.
I have been watching your videos since 2022 and i was shocked how patient and expert you are . Well done my friend , thumbs up. Keep going , you are the best 💪
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ i am from india ....
By profession i am advocate but have intrst in electronics .....
I've watched all of your videos in last 2 months.....
May Allah bless you...
And most probably i love the way you talk and the jokes u crack...
Love you brother❤🎉
Those two connectors looks strikingly similar. Both 12 pins and both from Aces. Maybe you could have replaced the whole connector?
Same model numbers too.
تقريبا الجهازين نفس المآخذ
يعطيك العافية استفدت كثير من قناتك شكرا لك
Only work on computer out of necessity to save money. Ran into this video and it was refreshing to watch.
Your donor mobo seems to have thr same socket? Look at the label on the side.
Most of the time, some sockets or connectors or components are the same for specific products in the same generation/time that these products were made.
I said the same thing!
Work of art! Love your vids man
WOW, Northridge Fix is LIVE!
People are saying that both connectors are same. Who gave them this idea? It's Alex.
I think he has different aim to replace the pin rather than replacing that connector. But we have learnt many things from him including replacing a single pin. No complain.
It looks like that the donor board has the same connector as per the marking on the connector @ 4:33
Am i wrong or the hp donor had the same connector as the surface?
those two connector are the same both 12 pins and the same aces 4D what you didn't replaced?? i hope you reply ❤
Sorry Alex.
I am your viewer from past 3 and half years.
I can support by just comment and like.
✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
NF.V2 is awesome i love this thing it grinds the board so well.
I have learned a lot watching the past 2 years. I am expecting a small inheritance and definitely will get some equiptment from you guys. you do Good Work. :)
This is one of the connectors manufactured by ACES, but you would have to look through their catalog for an hour to find which one
he didn't need to.. the donor connector that he destroyed was the exact same connector.
@@supersilverhazeroker I noticed that too. same model number, and the same amount of pins.
The HP donor board has the same connector, it has the same labels and same 12 pins
@@luminatrixfanfiction yes and my point was instead of cutting the new connector and changing just 1 pin Alex could have replaced the whole connector😅
A lot more work that way, for no tangible benefit.
Flush cuts get those off sometimes. Looks like a wire to board from aces group, available on mouser electronics.
Im really enjoying your videos. on the day that i need more flux or solder wick i might go through you. we have a small shop in town here (small local business) that i usually buy from, but your videos have helped me quite a bit and id like to support you through a purchase (even if it is a small one)
Absolutely Brilliant 👏 👏👏 from Ajman, UAE.
I believe they were both the same connector...
A Hirose or Molex connector will fit, I believe. You just need the correct pitch. All other is quite similar.
Looks like the same connector from which you took a pin. It looks the same to me or maybe i'm wrong.
That good sir.... is a Masterpiece! I probably would have run out of pins trying losing most of them to the 9th dimension....😫
subhan allah wallah , like i'm looking at sheikh Othman al-Khamis , that been said i really learned a lot from your fixes brother , keep up the good work and may allah bless you and your loved ones 😊
I never seen anyone fixing a connector, this a amazing what you have to do when no spare parts available.
Bonjour de France trés bon travail.
It looks like the both connecters are the same you should've just replace it 😊😊
Alex, you must have kept a ton of electronics running & out of the e-recycling stream. Bravo!
"You only see this type of jobs in this channel", Very true. 👍
I see Aces connectors website, but this one does not exist. Maybe it's some kind custom made for this particular Surface. Awesome job as usual :) Thank you!
You make it look easy. Another great video. Nice job keep up the good work.
Alex, have you ever thought of being a comedian?
Love this channel!
Regarding support. When I watch your videos, I support you, correct? 😏
So where is the broken pin in the cable still?????
Hmm both the surface pro 7 and that hp board have 12 pin connectors .. I wonder if you could have just taken the hp connector and put it on the surface.
That is exactly what I was thinking too... But maybe he did not have the ribbon cable since I understood customer had already disassembled it and sent basically only the logic board.
Seeig that the plastic was so easy to cut , i imagine that using heated air would melt the connector or displace the pins. Desoldering and soldering from one board to another just increases the risk. It would be a different matter with a brand new unsoldered connector.
I think they were wide differently at each ends but eh I'm too lazy to go back and confirm
It is risky job if he removed the old broken connector and then the other connector didn't fit he will lose the chance to repair the old one which is not available
@@lolidasterner414 Thats why you heat the board from the underside so you dont melt the connector.
master at work!
That donor connector was the exact same connector.. why did you destroy it? you could've used that one!
I have 3 hp spectres with the same issue. Thanks!
Bro you are the man
Your Videos are always amazing. But i can be wrong, because i think the doner Connector looks like the same, as the Original to me. BTW greetings from Germany from me :D
YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB
can't you just measure the connector dimensions go to the aces site and use the advanced search?
Even Fire tablet is better quality than this. You have the hands of a surgeon.
I miss radio shack from the 80s.
Radio shack actually had techs then, was good times. 😂
Wasn't needed back then but needed now? Well, capitalism market speaks for it really well
You the MAN!
That was a precise job you did there. You must have the steady hands perk on those tweezers! 👍
When I work on electronics it's the most Zen thing ever. This guy sounds angry at life all the time..... We need our Bob Ross version of tech work.
Another great video from the master
Love this tip great video keep promoting your store we buy from you because it’s actually the best stuff. No joke
Good job mate 👍
You are correct I should buy something from your E-commerce site. Do you deliver to Mexico. Hope the "Big Boss" doesn't take this the wrong way but he looks a bit like "Mr. Burns" from the Simpsons cartoon. Hope you guys are well.🤣
You re my biggest inspiration
You could have just used the hole connector off the HP donor and not have a broken one in the Surface Pro.
He actually saved time here. Full teardown to get under surface pro board is not fun.
@@TechProFury you don't need to tear anything down.. just desolder using low melt. like he routinely does in his videos. no need to get under the board.
@@supersilverhazeroker well still, regardless, better video for people.
sir can you share your secret for steady hands and not shakey when doing micro soldering?
You did an awesome Job❤🎉
IT look like a same connector... same marking ACES 4D both are 12 pin same fixing points!!!! You could solder that connector
Great job as always :)
That is amazing
A pro at Work👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 masterpiece sound job Alex’s
Time for an upgrade to big boss's chair....he deserves the Rolls Roy e of chairs....maybe a Herman Miller Aeron
Great job, that's what repairing stuff is all about
like always better than factory😊
alex, you DA man...
Very smart
Hey that SP looks familiar! 😊
How many times would that connector have been unplugged for that kind of abuse
Interestingly I just got a pro 5 battery pack to output voltage having refused to do so even though the individual cells were receiving charge. Now that I reassembled, it just shows me a vertical band of white light to my right when I attempt to turn it on, holding it in landscape mode. I have zero experience with these modern Microsoft tablets and I have no charger for it
8:30 - We did an *awesome* job on this one.
Tenho um pino quebrado de um antigo HD ATA. Que ainda pretendo um dia consertar. Até hoje não vi ninguém consertando.
I'm still working to have your level of skill. So impressed with your work! 4:21 Isn't the doner connector the same as the broken one or were there tiny differences?
pretty sure if it was he would of used it :)
@@helinghausWhy do you answer if you don’t know. That’s like assuring a EV electric vehicle owner he will be able to drive from CA to NY without knowing if there are enough charging stations.
@@helinghaus it is 100% the same connector, he didn't even think of checking if it's the same, but i instantly the same aces 4d and 1 on that thing.. has the same amount of pins, is the same size, it's the same connector.
Never seen anyone replacing a pin in a connector. Good job
Awesome
I googled searched in the UK, "Surface pro 7 charging port". Seems to be two connectors joined by a cable, I assume one of those ends is the one you need.
No
Muito bom!!!! Parabéns. 👏👏
Quanto cobrar por um serviço desse?
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Nice vid
love your videos
Thanks for the info as always whats on todays menu, ahhh i see nice outro btw
The connectors looks the same lol
If I want quality I buy from Northridge Fix. I can haz a hot tweezers? 🙂
Hello sir how work please how can I unlock Toshiba Tecra a8 response code when I press ctr, tab, ctr and enter key it's giving me serial number and challenge code but I do not know how get response code thanks you
I’ll like to buy from e-commerce site do you deliver to Nigeria?🇳🇬
Why does he see these kinds of connector repairs all the time? Because people don't treat their electronics with the respect they deserve.
I think its called a microlock connector
When there's a will there's usually a way. ;)
Superb
I think you'r a big boos bro, you do everything
👍
Connector: ACES Macro 50278-xxxxx-xxx 1.25 mm Pitch WTB Wafer Conn. SMT S/R R/A Type
TOP...NO1
That was a great idea and a fix. You are Da Man!!!
is it just me or did the hp laptop have the exact same connector
a piece of art at museum artm .u have to put this kind of jobs in white frame and bring them to museum :)
I support the channel by Watching your videos... I'm not buying anything.
