Interesting the tone of your voice in the verses sometimes reminds me of the singer from Placebo. So like a mixture of Bellamy and him. Also in the Citizen Erased cover... If you don't know him. Look him up. Maybe you will hear what I mean.

What are you using to record the guitar as a bass?

It goes through a couple of things but basically:
Splits from back of Kemper as clean guitar - loop pedal - Whammy V - Pod X3 - Outputs
The Pod has a dual tone setup on it with one set to a clean subby tone and the other set to a distorted fuzzy tone.
