As one of the viewers mentioned, there’s NO NEED to remove the pocket clip unless you plan on swapping scales 😉👍🏻
The Manix is probably my favorite 🇺🇸 made Spyderco and the ultimate upgrade for them is Rockscale Design’s skinny scales. It takes that knife to another level IMO.
I’ve heard so many good things about those scales. Very cool, no liners right?
Yes it eliminates the liners. I did 2 builds with them one with the DLC Cruwear blade and the other one is the satin bladed M390 version, both look amazing.
@@JJ-lu6mg I need to pick up a set of these. I always balked at the $$$ but after having some bad tolerance issues with flytanium and other aftermarket scales, I can’t stress enough how important correct tolerances are especially if you’re removing the liners like on the RSD’s. I have seen some pics of the milling and I’ve got to say. They look flawless 😍😍. Love Cruwear also. Need to pick some up for testing.
So far the simplest video explaining how to disassemble this knife! Thx!
Thanks for watching man!!!
I did a full replacement on my Manix 2 before I saw your video. I upgraded the ball and ball cage using your instructions and it was flawless! I really appreciate you making the video. Thanks
One of the things that I love about the manix, is that looks like disassembling it doesn't untune it, unlike all my linerlocks which are a total pain in the butt to center
BTW thanks for that "tape" trick, it helped me greatly !
Thanks so much! This video convinced me that I can actually do this (not terribly mechanically inclined here)…..
Great explanation and demonstration.
I wish I watched this before I swapped scales on my Manix 2🥲but I’m sure I’ll take it apart again someday and I am thankful for this video for when I do😌🤙🏼
I appreciate this video I need to upgrade my cage, but was afraid to break something.
Thanks man! You’d be hard pressed to break anything on this knife…minus the g10 factory ball cage that is lol.
The only “risky” part about this knife is the lock assembly. Very easy to lose the spring or the ball bearing. Thank goodness for painters tape lol.
Awsome demo. Thank you. Nice trick with the tape. :)
love those AG scales.
You make more out of this than it actually is!
I didn’t watch the whole vid yet so maybe u mention but what kind of scales are they!? They look soooo sick!!!
Thanks bro
Cheers pal,you made it a lot easier for me to just do this, the difference with a flytanium titanium lock is just incredible, nice tip with the tape, kudos.
No problem brotha! Happy to help. Tape makes nearly impossible to lose the spring lol
@@tenkenknives4386 Exactly, seen it happen in many other videos, spring just leaps out.
Thank you for these tips, especially the tape!!!!!!!! The flytanium cage is far superior.
Where did you get those scales?!

Interesting video. My most used Manix 2 models are pinned lightweight so I won't be doing this unless the factory ball cage breaks. Also I believe I would tape up the cutting edge first just in case.
I have a newer Manix 2 lightweight with screws. Does the cage for the Manix 2 fit into the Manix 2 lightweight with no issues? flytanium says the cage is only for the regular manix 2. Is that just because some Manix 2 lightweights are pinned?
A rubber band works quite well rather than the tape.
Man this video would have come in so handy when I first got my manix 2! I’ve become pretty good at it by now, but I’ll be trying this in the future. Thanks!
Good video. To the point. I like the tape trick. I just bought a Manix. What kind of scales are those? Good looking knife.
Thanks man I try keep ‘em quick and easy. It’s frustrating trying to find content that’s good and then trying to whittle it down the important info. They’re custom scales from Anthony Griffin

Where did you get the scales
where did those scales come from?
Where did you get those scales
What driver are you using by chance?
WHERE DID YOU GET THE FRAG SCALES???💥💥💥
I have a Manix 2 XL which makes this annoying little clicking sound when the blade is being opened. I imagine that this clicking sound is caused by the plastic ball cage and cage ball interaction. Is there any way to correct this? Would a replacement Flytanium ball cage correct this clicking issue?
I'm having the same issue with mine
@@matt_dogg_1174 I have sent in mine for warranty repair, we will see if the issue will be corrected.
@@lajostresser482 please keep me updated
@@matt_dogg_1174 My knife came back from Spyderco with this comment; " all C 95's (this is the model # Manix2 XL} have an audible clicking noise when deploying the blade" The new knife was sharpened and reconditioned to their best capability. The clicking noise remains unchanged.
@@lajostresser482 thanks for the update
Where did you get those scales ?
Oh man yeah I was asking too. Those scales are tight
Wait, did you really remove the pocket clip just to take the scale and liner off? 😂
Haha yeah I guess I did. Thanks for noticing 😂😂
@@tenkenknives4386 Who made those scales?

Also, you don’t need to remove the pocket clip for this ☺️😂.
Ho much costs those scales??
What are your scales made from?
Can I use these scales on a Light Weight Manix 2? (with screw heads)
😢
U made this a breeze. How do people consider this difficult
Thanks! Yeah I duno man, I guess it’s all relative? It’s certainly not as straightforward as a pm2.
Because they don't have a good video to show them what not to do
Ambidextrous... It's pronounced ambidextrous.
