The Gayle Bradley 2 or GB2 is another winner from the Taichung Taiwan factory that checks all the boxes for general edc. M4 steel, hollow grind, solid neutral ergo's and a drop point. What more could you ask for?

I've been looking for this knife for quite sometime now and after a bit of luck I've finally found one. This knife is very large and quite different than most Spydercos and I couldn't be happier. Should I use it or Hodl??
Benchmade 940 Osborne - Full Review - m4 BHQ exclusive
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.2 года назад
The benchmade 940 is a gold standard within the knife community. It is regarded as a hard working knife and does well at prying. The benchmade 940 and the Spyderco pm2 are the two main knives that everyone tends to think of when the term "favorite edc" or "best edc" come up. What's your stance?
Hogue Deka - Full Review - don't get your HOGUES up
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
The Hogue Deka (gen 2) has very impressive pedigrees. For $130 you can get 20cv blade steel in an ABLE lock (axis lock) thick G10 construction. Fast action and pleasing aesthetics. The cutting performance for this blade style (warncliffe) excels at most general to light edc tasks. So why do I hate it?
Spyderco Schempp Bowie - Closer Look - Full Review
Просмотров 3182 года назад
Another interesting piece from the Taichung Taiwan factory, the Spyderco Schempp Bowie certainly brings an interesting approach to a more modern design. Created by Ed Schempp, this carbon fiber inlay, liner lock folding bowie knife will certainly strike up a conversation among enthusiasts. Like it, love it, or hate it, there is one thing that cannot be denied and that is the fit and finish/supe...
Spyderco Yojimbo 2 - Full review
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 года назад
The Spyderco Yojimbo 2 is an odd looking knife, even by Spyderco standards. Designed by personal defense trainer Michael Janich the Yojimbo 2 is considered to be a tactical warncliffe. Perhaps rivaling the Manix 2 in the ergonomics this folder certainly does fill every crevasse of the hand. I appreciate the aesthetics and the engineering behind the design though I don't currently see a ton of p...
Civivi Cogent - Full Review - BUYER'S REMORSE WARNING
Просмотров 2642 года назад
The Civivi Cogent is perhaps the most fidget friendly high performing knife in its class. For $70 you're getting a WHOLE lot of knife. Excellent steel, thick g10 with steel liners, a slicey blade profile all running on bearings that can drop it all...with the push of a button. I've never handled a Protech Malibu but at this point, I have a very hard time imagining that it's worth 3-4x the price...

    With fitment I had the opposite problem everything was too tight but I managed to get it all into place. Lock Bar tension was way too high and I did have to adjust it. Even though I was able to get it all working properly and I am generally happy with the results I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

    This would have been my choice had it not been for the plastic material of the nub used for this lock. I hope a future iteration uses a more premium material for such an important part.

    common sense should tell us we must buy the correct scales to begin with, we cant buy the wrong product and blame the maker or the knife. If you buy the correct scales (lightweight) or put the OEM ones back on you would see you dont have this issue. HAS NOTHING to do with the tolerances or milling, its simply not the correct afterrmarket scales.

    Let me just leave this comment in case anyone was about to the make the mistake I made. THE CRUWEAR VERSION OF THIS KNIFE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MOST AFTERMARKET SCALES. I fucked up and bout some flytanium scales and hardware for my pm2 crucarta. The hardware works fine but the scales do NOT fit the full liner of the crucarta pm2.

    Now the question is which one is better, this or the Axis lock? I prefer Spyderco 90% of the time but have had many Benchmades including my very first pocket knife at 12 years old a Benchmade Panther.

    • @TheOfficialCaseMade
      @TheOfficialCaseMade 2 месяца назад

      I think this is inherently more durable than the Axis Lock system. I have heard that the springs will eventually break on the Benchmades.

    And this is why the bolts or the shaft of the ball cage with fail before the ball, back spacer or blade. One of if not the strongest folding lock there is and so smooth. And no “lock stick” I love pm2s and 3s. And they’re awesome when they’re glassy. But any little stick or “pop” feeling in the lock I can’t stand. Same with frame and liner locks. If it clicks sticks or pops it drives me nuts. Manix 2 is just glass.

    In a sense this is like the Demko Shark Lock.

    • @J0eMega
      @J0eMega 6 месяцев назад

      Not quite. The shark lock has a bar that locks onto a pin, making for an extremely strong lock. This is more of just wedging a piece in between the blade and the frame, and using a spring to keep it in place. Still strong, but not nearly as strong as a shark lock.
