It's okay. I knew about the scientist grab thing but I didn't know that the portals looked any different so that's something. I agree though, Half Life is very well covered subject by various channels that dig out facts that people may not know for exmaple, certain textures are randomly selected each time a maps loaded which is very subtle. This feature doesn't work in Half Life Source unfortunetly.
There is other fact when those cutscenes play you can kill those "actors" example when the tentacle is ready to attack the sciencist kill him and tentacle wont attack
In HL1 that scripted sequence is actually tied to your framerate, so the animation is synced fine at 30 FPS. But the higher you go the more messed up it is. In HL:S nothing is tied to the framerate, so the animation is synced at every framerate.
Not in the latest (Steam) version. In Source however you can just kill NPCs no matter what because their game logic for dying isn't tied to animation cycles.
JackyFrostyFox I think the blue barrel prop valve took for hl1 and put it in hl2. If you examine the blue barrel textures in gmod or hl2 they have the same textures as hl1's blue barrel.

It originates as the half life menu sounds when clicking something back in the WON days, they stopped using the original menu when they moved the fame to steam and the sound was kept as the screenshot sound as a homage to mine raft

Undoing the framerate cap on beefy modern computers also fucks the game entirely.

the animations were actually synced back in the old HL, at least in the original WON version.
Looks like Valve broke synced animations in Steam version.
