I only realized once you went down the covienently placed chasm that brought you right to the glow tulip, then I remembered what day it was

Or when they were falling down the conveniently long corruption chasm and there was another tulip on the right of it

@@alexsiemers7898 I found a dirtiest block before I even know what it was, because I was mining out an entire world for the memes and found one near the ocean. Didn't realise just how lucky that was until much later lol

Did the math for the Chaos Elemental. The chance that you get a biome key, Amarok, apple pie, mech boss summoning item, soul of light, and rod of discord from a single chaos elemental (under normal conditions lol) is 1/703,125,000,000,000

One of my favorite Terraria memories is starting a new game (on the DS of all things). First slime I see is a pinky. I kill it and it drops a slime staff. The chances are so minuscule it's unreal!
I remember when I first started getting the slime staff off a green slime on the first day cycle and not realizing how rare it was.
I don’t mean to burst your bubble but Pinkies do have a very increased chance for a slime staff

This is very well made. I am surprised that you managed to get all of those things so quickly. It would take the luck of my Dream-s to beat any of these runs, but I guess that just comes with being so skilled.
I like how it gets progressively more ridiculous. It was pretty obvious from the start, but the corruption chasm was when it really just snapped for me. Sometimes those chasms go surprisingly deep, especially if the worldgen starts it a lot above sea level, but not nearly *that*.

i live in Australia, so it was April 2nd when this came out, i was mad at how lucky WOS was until i realized the date
the glow tulip made me go "Oh wow, what an interesting looking cavern for it to be in", and when you mentioned dirtiest block i instantly realised what day this was uploaded on
only slightly lucky. Dirtiest Blocks frequently migrate (African Swallows are partially to blame, but only two of them can carry one at a time), so that must be the phenomenon here.
Also, Those buildings with boulder traps along them are a new addition. They're a quality of life feature meant to make speedrunning wof less punishing.
Those were some great speedrunning strats you used, though.
I gotta be honest, my favorite part was the hole to the underworld. It would be nice for the game to give us a perfect hellevator lol.

I remember getting the slime staff by accident at one point in my terraria playthrough. I chucked it out because I didn't know it was rare. I now regret my life choices.

Absolutely amazing. Ever considered being a Terraria speedrunner? You could probably get top 10 with that kind of luck
I'd love to see a Terraria Skyblock/Shimmerblock run from you. I think it really fits well with the channel, and can be a super cool series. Its super grindy but you have done perfection in stardew in 2 years, a skyblock would be cake! Much love, keep up the content
Definitely had some good times, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Perhaps someday, you'll get the dirtiest block in the first dirt block you check, probably find a teleportation potion in a chest that would teleport you to a glow tulip, or even find a Rod of Discord in one of those super rare hallow chests you're totally able to find pre-hardmode. Can't wait to see how you improve at these categories.

I think one way you could optimize the RoD drop is getting lucky having the hallow spawn right above where the wall dies and it conveniently having a chasm so you don't have to worry about getting lucky finding a random house with a teleport potion
No joke the RoD drop was a quite good representation on what happened to me on my first playthrough. (Ps4, pre-1.4) My friend was so mad.

Watching this video a year and a half after it came out, I had to check the day it was published as soon as I saw that slime staff drop.
For a moment I was thinking that he was playing really smart with that conch until he just dropped into the tulip. After everything else I was expecting the punchline to be that everything dropped BUT the rod of discord.

I was playing calamity yesterday with some QoL mods that didn't boost any items drop rates. Death mode. 1.5.
Just defeated WoF as a summoner, gone to get souls of light for the cryo key.
The second chaos elemental I kill drops RoD.

On my first ever playthrough, I actually did get the slime staff within 5 minutes of playing. Needless to say, you had me going for a minute there 😂

funny story, I got a Rod of discord from the first chaos elemental I killed after going into hardmode a couple of days ago. (I was on the drunk world so it was more common)
I wonder how much prep work this actually took... it must have been quite a bit
