To clarify 6:10, your first chest was the wooden chest you found near the entrance. Since the chest spawned above a depth of -100, the chest is replaced with a wooden chest that has a golden key. That means your first golden chest was actually the second chest, and the second chest always contains a cobalt shield (which you got).
Ok so 2nd chest gets cobalt sheild this will be externally useful because of my curse of almost never finding one. 1 time I got one before defeating plantera because I had to or the post plantera dungeon would really screw over...

I like this idea because I really liked the last terraria challenge and this takes that same concept but changes the effect of it. It's also cool to see how the random blocks work with each other because they sometimes look kinda cool and not just like random blocks (like at 4:00).

The way the dungeon works, is the first chest is always a muramasa, the next is cobalt shield, etc. The 8th and final chest is a wooden chest with a golden key, then it repeats and keeps going. However, if any chests are above y=0, they are converted into wooden chests, and their contents are changed. Sometimes the order of the chests aren’t obvious, especially when there is a long horizontal corridor with a chest at the end before the main part of the Dungeon even begins (in that case, I believe the far away chest is first, then the first chest you see in the main dungeon is the second chest).

Randomizers are so great, you can do it with almost any game and it adds so much replayability while still being fun. I do Hollow Knight randomizers and having the game force you to explore every book and cranny is so amazing, as well as you find something amazing early on (last time I got mantis claw, the wall jump, from the first shop)
These videos are amazing for getting new biome ideas. The iron ore + glass + green flame looked amazing. Bee-Hell and the invisible jungle were hilarious too.

Could be achieved by starting with the full world and self imposing layers of barriers, maybe? Then you can explore the next layer for each boss defeated. It's a cool idea, just a little hard to set up

@@outspade it's doesn't make sense to actually shrink the world and try to expand it. TEdit doesn't auto create terrain, you would just have an empty void around a tiny floating island.

Challenge Terraria Idea: start as a neutral class but every time a boss is killed you use the class of the weapon it drops you must use that class till the next boss Rules however you decide Example: Wall of flesh decides class till plantera is killed or Queen slime
This could even be expanded slightly to: Every time you find a new weapon, you must use that weapon until another one drops. It would be interesting to see a playthrough where you get a boss weapon and then have to avoid finding other drops, so that you don't have to use a worse weapon.

Yo two idea: 1: keep stockpiles of blocks in chests so you don't loose them permanently in case they get deleted. 2: next time u get luminite or such you could try and stockpile it both for later but also cause money good. I imagine taking all of it might not be good so you can see what itll turn into next.
I actually found a mod for 1.4 tmodloader that has an "entropy" world type, which randomizes one random block type every day. The mod is called "Advanced World Generation" and has a few other neat options (such as random paint, etc.)

Even tho this isn’t necessarily going to make the game more hard, I think this general world change and how it looks is super entertaining by itself, and pretty visually pleasing at times
I’m only a few minutes in, but one strat I’d use for a challenge like this is to gather as many different kinds of blocks as you can and place a bunch of them down in a grid before fighting a boss, on the off chance you get a really good change, like dirt to tungsten or gold to luminite Might not work out well often, but the probability of getting *something* useful at some point in the run is pretty good
I love the concept, perhaps you should make stacks of blocks near your house with signs "this would be stone /dirt /wood/ etc..." so when you shift you have a point of reference and know where to look for if you find a material that is interesting :)

I have an idea: every boss you beat slightly increases the spawn rate of mobs, and maybe another challenge/twist is put onto it.
Maybe random weapon types every boss? (Swords, flails, bows, guns, tomes, staves, whips, etc)
