- We did a Terraria block randomizer over a year ago, and I've been getting a lot of requests to do another one, so let's do it. This time I'll be randomizing the blocks again after each boss, so this one will be very diverse.

The fact you jumped and a Wyvern spawned perfectly encapsulates the Hardmode experience.

Yeah, especially since, if I recall correct, Wyverns and Crawltipedes has the same AI type: Worm.
That's why I don't like small worlds-hardly any room to build upwards before you end up in Wyvern Hell.

To clarify 6:10, your first chest was the wooden chest you found near the entrance. Since the chest spawned above a depth of -100, the chest is replaced with a wooden chest that has a golden key. That means your first golden chest was actually the second chest, and the second chest always contains a cobalt shield (which you got).
Ok so 2nd chest gets cobalt sheild this will be externally useful because of my curse of almost never finding one.
1 time I got one before defeating plantera because I had to or the post plantera dungeon would really screw over...

@@guncatto2625 there is, the full order is: Muramasa, Cobalt Shield, Aqua Scepter, Blue Moon, Magic Missile, Valor, Golden Key, Handgun.
However the dungeon path splitting makes it impossible to follow past the entrance
Those neon green living trees look insanely cool, it looks like a futuristic thing you'd find in starbound
It sucks that we can relate so many things to Starbound, but the game never really took world generation past the bare minimum at all.

i like how Jungle took over Crimson at the start. "How the turntables" the Jungle said
I feel like the desert consumes more than the corruption/crimson, since it strikes before you have a chance to stop it.

Weird how often it actually looks good when the blocks are randomized.
That’s because every glowing block or cool block makes something look cool and there are a lot of variants of glowing blocks and a lot of cool blocks, I think.
kinda gives an alien feeling to the world, it's really nice

This run is shaping up to be lots of fun. I hope to see another more standard randomizer later, though - I loved the challenge of working out the best way to tackle the world with the materials you were given

Yes I agree with this, I like the traditional randomizer quite a bit. I do enjoy this concept though and I'm very curious to see how it goes.

I like this idea because I really liked the last terraria challenge and this takes that same concept but changes the effect of it. It's also cool to see how the random blocks work with each other because they sometimes look kinda cool and not just like random blocks (like at 4:00).

in our server we tried to find what would be the worst possible block combo, and we ended up settling on Snow Blocks and Hay
ever since it's been kindoff a running gag that i build houses with snow blocks and hay lol

I have to say as crazy as the randomizer makes the world look it's oddly pretty, especially the living trees. Can't wait to see more.

I’ve said this many times over your various videos, but I always love the Nintendo music choice so much! Makes your channel even more unique then the already high-effort content.

what if you did the opposite of the shrinking world? every time a boss is defeated, the world expands?
Could be achieved by starting with the full world and self imposing layers of barriers, maybe? Then you can explore the next layer for each boss defeated. It's a cool idea, just a little hard to set up
@@mikaeluhl you wouldnt be able to access the underworld if its a large world and you start in the middle, and you probably cant get any boss summon items (except maybe lucky eye)
@@jacobsmash1 underworld layer changes to fit the world size as seen in the shrinking world videos, though you may hit a wall around the evil boss cos so many bosses need to be somewhere in the outer reaches of the world
@@outspade it's doesn't make sense to actually shrink the world and try to expand it. TEdit doesn't auto create terrain, you would just have an empty void around a tiny floating island.
@@outspade yes i know but mikael suggested just having a boundary of blocks and removing it, that would not make the underworld layer fit to the boundaries of the blocks
Challenge Terraria Idea: start as a neutral class but every time a boss is killed you use the class of the weapon it drops you must use that class till the next boss
Rules however you decide
Example: Wall of flesh decides class till plantera is killed or Queen slime

This could even be expanded slightly to: Every time you find a new weapon, you must use that weapon until another one drops. It would be interesting to see a playthrough where you get a boss weapon and then have to avoid finding other drops, so that you don't have to use a worse weapon.

KSlime drops Ranger armor and the slime gun, so ranger
EoC, the shield is Melee
BoC doesn't drop weapons but the Brain of Confusion is a dodge item so summoner
EoW the scarf, so melee
Queen Bee could be any of the 4 classes
If she drops something whit bad modifier summoner, if not then the class of the weapon
Skeletron mage because of the Skull tome
WoF same as the Queen bee, every class depending on the drop
Same for Duke fishron
QSlime summoner
Destroyer ranger because of the Mega shark
Twins summoner because of the Twin staff
Prime melee because of the light discs (i guess, i don't remember what you can do whit the souls of terror)
Plantera ranger because she always drop the granade launcher first
Golem mage, ranger or melee depending of the drop
EoL night any depending on the drop
EoL day summoner
Lunatic cultist any
Moon lord any
These series were both some of my favorite ideas of the channel and now they're combined.

The Mario Galaxy music actually really fits with how alien the world is, with it getting progressively more dangerous and un-interactable
There’s a mod called weapons are tools that allows weapons to break blocks. Just a suggestion for the next terraria playthrough.
It also works in 1.4

More than any of the blocks, I was most shocked by how the Flamelash works now. I somehow missed that in the 1.4 patch notes. That's super cool, I'll have to try using it next playthrough.

These videos are amazing for getting new biome ideas. The iron ore + glass + green flame looked amazing. Bee-Hell and the invisible jungle were hilarious too.

Randomizers are so great, you can do it with almost any game and it adds so much replayability while still being fun. I do Hollow Knight randomizers and having the game force you to explore every book and cranny is so amazing, as well as you find something amazing early on (last time I got mantis claw, the wall jump, from the first shop)
It's really cool to see the world change, I'm seeing a lot of blocks that I don't typically get to see, especially in those amounts! There's so much variety right under my nose. Living trees always do look the best, I agree! Super cool, looking forward to the next one! Thank you for posting, your work is always very dedicated and astounding every single time!
I have an idea: every boss you beat slightly increases the spawn rate of mobs, and maybe another challenge/twist is put onto it.
Maybe random weapon types every boss? (Swords, flails, bows, guns, tomes, staves, whips, etc)

The way the dungeon works, is the first chest is always a muramasa, the next is cobalt shield, etc. The 8th and final chest is a wooden chest with a golden key, then it repeats and keeps going. However, if any chests are above y=0, they are converted into wooden chests, and their contents are changed. Sometimes the order of the chests aren’t obvious, especially when there is a long horizontal corridor with a chest at the end before the main part of the Dungeon even begins (in that case, I believe the far away chest is first, then the first chest you see in the main dungeon is the second chest).
While you were exploring the dungeon I expect you to run into a random patch of dungeon brick that would spawn the dungeon guardian.
When the entire world being slowly shifted around until it's barely recognisable is less harmful and broken for the world shrinking a bit

Holy damn, that Crimson Jungle looked so cool at the start, and the radioactive Iron Jungle was almost breathtaking with how gorgeous it looks.

This is so cool. I actually think this would be a really fun mod to try out if you could generate worlds with randomized block types on generation. Maybe like one of those randomizers that builds stuff with logic so that it's always "technically" possible to win but imagine the game knowledge you'd need to solve this.
I know you used TEdit which is one way to try it out but a modernized tool would be interesting.

I actually found a mod for 1.4 tmodloader that has an "entropy" world type, which randomizes one random block type every day. The mod is called "Advanced World Generation" and has a few other neat options (such as random paint, etc.)
And it might be able to include modded blocks too but idk about that

Yo two idea:
1: keep stockpiles of blocks in chests so you don't loose them permanently in case they get deleted.
2: next time u get luminite or such you could try and stockpile it both for later but also cause money good. I imagine taking all of it might not be good so you can see what itll turn into next.

some fun inspiration from some of the palate choices the randomizer went with, if only i was patient enough to recreate them. living cursed fire leaves with grate bark works well for a stereotypical nuclear theme, for example.
