Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

@@Kevil911 that depends on who or where makes it like with any food plus what you prefer try everything and decide for yourself (personally tho since its cold out the cow stomach soup is a banger)
The soup with the gelatinous intestine meat is called menudo and it is one of my favorites. It is more commonly eaten in the winter time since it is such a heart warming and satiating comfort food.
Menudo is the best
Not necessarily bro, we normally eat it mostly on weekends. Especially when you’re dealing with a hangover 😵 lol.

You’re naturally funny! I just started watching your videos and I’m addicted lol. Love seeing you try Mexican food 🇲🇽 Honestly though, it makes me sad that the food price is so cheap. I cook Mexican food everyday for my small family and the time and work that’s put into it can be a bit tiring and exhausting. Those ladies deserve way more than that♥️
wrgg
Are you aware that purchasing power is different around the world? Even within regions of countries it can be different.
How can it make you sad that the food is cheap? Lmao.
Aqui para los Mexicanos es buen precio ya que nuestra moneda vale menos que el Dólar
You're practically paying pennies for authentic restaurant-quality Mexican food. Meanwhile at Chipotle, they want one of your legs and your firstborn son's kidneys for a bowl of rice.
You're the sucker that pay with your firstborn's kidneys though. Chipotle don't force broke ass peep to eat at their spot.
@@Twofix sarcasm, look it up
@Tony Vega no shit
Where do you think the meat for the barbacoa comes from?
@Tony Vega Seriously?! You must be fun at parties.
Mexican street food is awesome. I enjoyed it more than the restaurant food there (which wasn’t bad either). Some of the best meals I had, Tortas or Tacos, were only $1-$2.

You want to be mexican? You got iit!!! Just remember to tilt your head when eating a taquito and it's all good!
As my friend Daniel said, mexicans are born wherever they want 💕 welcome to the family
Aside from the cartels and the drugs and murders, yup, pretty awesome country!!!
Mexican here (born, raised and currently living in Mexico, I'm not from texas or something like that haha). I find it so interesting how many different cultures there are in Mexico. I live in a different state than the one in the video and the food here and there is so different, many of those things I didn't even know and I'm sure they won't know what I normally eat even though we live in the same country!!
This video was fun, thx for showing me the places I don't know of my home :3
So glad you went to Mexico, finally, and that you experienced true Mexican food. One thing about huitlacoche, the corn smut, the slight sourness disappears with time. So, if cooked and left to sit for a day (like marinades) in the fridge, the sourness disappears and sweetness is highlighted. Due to the French occupation in the mid 1800s, we have crepes in Mexico. A great way to have huitlacoche is cooked with diced poblano peppers, regular corn, stuffed in crepes that are doused with a poblano-cream sauce and covered with Oaxaca cheese.
absolutamente delicioso!!! Mexican food together with peruvian food, is the most diverse and delicious latin american food you can find.
huitlacoche crepes are hard to find, even in Mexico.
@@heliosf2080 It’s a matter of making them : )
More common are the crepes with cajeta (goat milk caramel), flambeed with rum and sprinkled with nuts.
@@ancimargarita2763 Absolutely! With so many centuries of sophisticated civilization, it’s no surprise. There’s a Peruvian/Bolivian restaurant were I live in Providence, RI. First time I had beef heart. It was amazing. And their Salteñas tasted exactly like the ones I had in La Paz.

Mexico is a huge country, and if you go to different areas you’ll find different kinds of street food as well as very different price. I’d say that the northern you go the more expensive it is, but, although the quality food never changes, it diversity does .
Great video and a truthful portrait of the True authentic food.

just choose the state or city well, each state is different from each other and each one has different food and culture
The way Sonny describes food is perfect 👌🏽 nopales: “a cross between okra and green bell pepper that has been cooked for a long time”
I live near these street and been eating nopales all my life , this is the first time I hear that description, that "green bell pepper cooked for a long time" in deed is a good comparison, also you can eat the nopales just fresh, without boiling too. That fresh slime taste like aloe vera fresh.
In Mexico, we have a lot of variety in food, also is not expensive and delicious, we love tourists to try our culture ✨💕
My grandma on my Dads side said the generation before her was from Mexico before they got to Colorado, I wonder if it's why I love the authentic food so much, everything on here looked amazing, I'm gonna have to make some at home now to get my fix
Nice to see you finally going to the real Mexico, no offense to border towns but to anyone who really want to experience the Mexican culture, Mexico city is the place to go, because it has all of the cultural expressions of Mexican culture. Btw, you tasted the 3 of the most important pre Hispanic foods in Mexico, huazontles, huitlacoche and nopales, also super foods the 3 of them, and delicious.
No offense here but I never understood that mindset that you need to go to Mexico city to experience true Mexican culture and anything besides that is sacrilege. The truth is that Mexico is a country of regions and different regions have their own traditions and cuisines.
Sorry but Chiapas and Yucatan are as real Mexico as CDMX and Nuevo León.CDMX is not all the country. I was born in CDMX and I hate these kind of ideas about what is "real Mexico or not". By the way quesadillas with no cheese are stupid.
actually no, mexcio city is much more globalized and attempts to be an American city, you want real Mexican experience, go to the shores or the south
In Mexico city you can find food from different regions. Mexico city is amazing because of that. You can find food from all over the country. And maybe quesadillas without cheese are stupid, but they are delicious 🤤
This guy doesnt do border town only in any country he visits.
More Sonny in Mexico. Him interacting with the locals is hilarious!

I think everyone eats the menudo(Cow stomach) different some eat it with corn tortillas. We are from Durango we grew up eating it with with bolillo bread. We would dip it in the broth. Oh and yes adding Oregano makes a big difference in the flavor sunny!! 😋🤤🤤
I’m from Durango too but never ate it with bolillo until recently. If we’re having Menudo for breakfast there better be some bolillos to go with it.
