Moving the radiator and fans to the bed is dumb because unless you have a funky wing directing air to it, there’s an air pocket right there and it doesn’t get airflow at speed.

    Hey Jeremy, haven't seen you guys around in a month of Sundays!😄 That little Yamaha kart cleaned up pretty nice! I was actually a little surprised myself, when it lit off as easily as it did. Considering the funk that was in the fuel tank, you might want to pick up a kit for that carb and go thru it. You sure don't want it to lean out up on top and seize a piston.😳 That green chassis looks like some pro-mod stuff. Definitely a candidate for a 125 water-cooled shifter engine!!😉 Hope you guys are planning some more content with these in the near future.

    Porting the head in a 2 stroke would remove material and effectively lower compression and kill your squish.
    Porting the cylinder and cases is common but can easily ruin the cylinder if you don't know what you're doing.

    I am currently running Twin KT 100s big bore and fully ported over here in Aus. The KT 100s is still raced here in the AIDKA series. Start around 1 & 1/4 on the low and 1/2 on the high. Obviously depends on porting etc. but a good starting point. Go out to 1 &1/2 on the low as you go. I run pump 98 petrol at 20:1 fully synthetic oil. We run them direct drive. Any questions hit me up. Your right around the 15k rpm for a KT if you want to hit the 19k look for a Parilla Reedjet 100. They will do 19-20k when tuned in the edge.

    Ospho is a rust converter. It;s a great product when you use it correctly. Youre supposed to apply it and let it sit and it converts rust into a protective coating that you can paint over or primer over. Its essentially phosphoric acid which converts iron oxide into iron phosphate. Washing it off or sanding it off defeats the point of using it.

    Cool find. It brings me back to 1996,1997 when I raced gocarts very similar to the cart you have at my local dirt track. I was young so I don't remember what all my dad and grandpa did to it but I do remember it was a 5hp Briggs and straton engine that was gone through and it was running on methanol pushing around 14ish hp. I loved that thing and loved racing and spending time with my dad and grandpa on the weekends. Such great memories and trophies haha.

    That single lug on the front wheels is nice. You can put nice bearings in there with confidence, as just like on a car you'll be able to set the preload, unlike the back, which is basically just a solid axle passing through two bearing blocks. I'm sure they are caged bearings or whatever on the rear, but otherwise unprotected from dust and debris and able to sling any lube out over time. That thing was probably quite a ripper when it was in good repair, and with a bit of love and lube will be a ripper again in no time. Cool shit. If you get to working on it and get a little more torque out of it, you can change the sprockets for more speed or acceleration. Pick up a tooth on the big one to get more mph out of it, and if you go real short course, you can add a tooth on the small sprocket and tighten up the gear ratio and make that thing absolutely leap out of corners under throttle. This thing should be a real blast!

  • @Jared45513
    @Jared45513 Год назад

    I come from the motorcycle world and those kt100s are a sweet engine... that thing will be a ripper!!! I would highly recommend Maxima Castor927 premix oil at a 40:1 ratio then jet it. It's part syn. part dinosaur oil and smells AMAZING... Great work fellas!!

    That a KT100? Had a blast racing those as a kid in early 2000s. That has the large exhaust pipe on there and will be quick. My dad and I always struggled messing around with drive clutches (wet or dry). For fun, changing to “direct drive” simplifies things. However, if you spin out you’re hosed. then you’d be getting out and push starting on track.

    my guess is late 90s given axle size. that one is only a 15g engine and will last 10 or 12 outings piston wise. we ran them with an air box to cut down noise an made them easier to choke while push starting. 1.25 to 1.5 turns on low speed mixture .5 to .75 on high. You need to hear a little 4 stroking at wrung out flat chat for the mixture to be right and check the plug colour too.
