Most trainers on these workout videos don't understand the emotional aspect of being overweight or needing a rehab type low impact approach to working out. Your self esteem is not where it used to be when you were fit. So doing this video and hearing his non- pushy, u can do it positivity really makes me do his workout everyday! Thank u so much u make my fitness goals attainable!🌟💯👍

He is fantastic. I felt like his encouragement was so thoughtful as he is thinking of the viewer. Especially someone who is unfit or has not exercised in a long time. Other trainers who do exercises are for "beginners" are to fast, they plaster on the fake smile and the over the top cheery tones as they were out faster expecting the unfit viewer to keep up or do the moves just as easily as the trainers. Plus it is awesome to see his companions heavy set people. It is inspirational.

I’m a 17 year old girl from Japan who has severe depression and anxiety. At 12 I’ve attempted suicide from the amount of bullying I went through from my classmates and teachers just because I could speak English and because I didn’t think like them (cause I was raised in another country I guess?) I stopped going to school and now I’m slowly healing. Today I started my fitness journey here and completed everything with small breaks in between. I have felt proud of myself for the first time in a long time. I still have a long way to go but I will try my best to take care of myself more from now on. His motivational words almost made me cry during the workout too. Thank you so much❤️

Dear violet, you're such a strong girl and i'm definitely rooting for you. Take care, love and respect yourself first more than anything. I myself experienced bullying in my younger days, but once you stood for yourself, you'll find great power to thrive. Best wishes!

Update: Made it to 17 minutes, 52 seconds.
Update: After a year and an injury and some PT, I got back to this and today I made it through the whole thing without breaks (but with water!). It feels amazing. I'll still be back! Let's see if I can do it again!
Update: This is now a regular workout!

"Progress not perfection" Whenever I hear him saying this, it brings tears in my eyes. As far as I remember, I hated my body, never liked the way I look and always wanted to be skinny like many girls around my age. Since social media brought face-tuned perfect bodies, my body images issue got worse, I tried extreme diets and starved myself for the sake of having a skinny body. Even thought I lost lots of pounds, I never found my body looking better and then went back to emotional eating and gaining all the pounds I lost back. Now working on my body-image, trying to be kind to myself and overall accepting what I have, how I look and overall who I am as person. It is really freaking hard. But trying as he says it is progress and not perfection. I'll never be perfect but will be better than a day ago. Each time I exercise with you, I cry at the end, telling myself that I am proud of myself which is really hard for people like me struggling with self-love/confidence/respect. Thank you so much Daniel not only for showing these great moves but also touching the deepest parts of our hearts with your motivational words. You're the best.

Every time I try working out I give up because I push myself too much and end up way to sore and just hating the puking feeling after working out. I'm thankful for this video. I'm a 50 yr. old female and I was recently diagnosed with borderline pre- diabetes so alongside with the medicine I was put on the doctor told me to exercise and eat healthier. I'm not over weight just out of shape and a huge taste for sweets then I found this beginners video that was just right for me. I joined a gym after the doctor told me about exercise but, I have not went so far due to hardly any motivation to go, thoughts of looking stupid in there and thinking about Covid-19. This video motivated me because, it was good for beginners and I was home and didn't have to worry about looking stupid or worry about coronavirus from being around others. I recommend this video to any beginners, it's great! :)

I came here and hearing "you just have to be better than yesterday" really pushed me to finish the routine, even though I didn't do a good job here either I finished.

I found this after my PT ordered me to do at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise every day. I'm young, but I am seriously overweight- and this... this video is absolutely amazing. I have yet to make it through the entire video- but it feels very doable with this. I'm very self-conscious about my body and how it moves, and even though I do this by myself, I feel just a little less dumb about how I move with this routine. Trainer is amazing- and I can't wait until I'm fit enough to try all of his other videos.

OMG, I tried this today. It was a killer but in a great way. Btw, I started these workouts with a different workout on this channel a few weeks ago. I can't remember the date but it wasn't that long ago (a couple of weeks) I started at 174. At that time I was upset because no matter how I sticked to my meal plan I was stuck at 174 pounds for months. I did some research and it indicated that I needed to exercise more so I started the workouts on this channel. As of today I am at 167 pounds! That's 7 pounds! I'm so happy that I am moving towards my goal. If you are reading this you must believe that you can do this, even a tiny grain of belief will help you because you can do this. Just do a little at a time. Concentrate on losing one pound at a time. That was part of the mind set that worked for m. Good Luck! Oh and thank you so much Body Project for this wonderful program to help people all over the world. XOXO

I almost cried when I finished the workout. Because of depression and anxiety, I quit my job, took a break from school, and have just been unable to do anything. It's so hard seeing yourself slowly gaining weight and having your life pass you by. I've been trying to find workout videos that are positive and really for beginners. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this one.

I used to be reasonably fit but I'm recovering from treatments and surgeries from breast cancer and I've lots of setbacks and gained lots of weight and it just felt so good to hear the reminders that movement is a privilege and it's about progress and not perfection and that it doesn't matter if you press pause. All the reminders I need to keep working on myself. Thank you!

Wow, I could cry right now from happiness! 2 years ago I was doing your more advanced workouts. Then I suffered a pretty severe back injury. Fast forward to now I've gained 30 lbs and I'm very out of shape from a slow recovery. I've just now gotten to where I can exercise very very lightly but everything I come across is too difficult and I get scared of hurting myself. Even beginner videos are too intimidating to me right now because I watch half way thru and I know "Nope, can't do that". Finally a real 100% beginner video I can do! And I appreciate so much that you have fitness people along side you who more closely resemble my physique because it motivates me in saying to myself "She can do it, I can do it!" From the bottom of my heart and my poor injured back, thank you SO much for this video!

I can totally relate! I had two herniated discs and a disc fragment and I gained 30 lbs over the three years I was trying to recover. It was a challenge just to do basic tasks like walking (hence the weight gain). The paranoia about reinjuring is so real! Feeling much more mobile these days and so thankful for learning patience with my body while it healed. I hope you are doing better too 😊

I'm 93 kgs at 23 years old. I have polycystic ovary syndrome and had the biggest scare of my life from a PCOS fb group, from someone who didn't take action at a much earlier stage. I hope it's not too late for me.
Today is my second day of trying to lose weight. I am currently on a cool down when I stumbled upon Body Project's videos and reading the comments here is very encouraging and moving to me... I will give this workout a try.
    Day 1 of this workout (11/7, 11:11am)
I wasn't able to finish it. I stopped at mark 20:52. There will come a time that I will be able to finish the whole workout and more. I am not giving up. Today, I started. Nowhere else to go but forward.
(11/9) I missed yesterday's workout, but I did 30 minutes on the bike.
Today I finished the workout at 8:35am. Paused twice, maybe five times to catch my breath. My mother walked in on me while doing the workout, stopping me, and I guess you can imagine whose face is in my head when I was doing the punches. I'm so sick and tired of being told that I'm not good enough, that I can't, basically saying that I'm not capable of change. GUESS WHAT, MOTHER. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 5 DAYS NOW AND I'M DOING THIS FOR ME. AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME. I was in tears while doing the workout (even now that I'm typing this) and didn't feel tired until the 20 minute mark. I'll remember today, and all the times I've been rejected and said no to. I'll use it as fuel to propel me forward. I love myself enough to not listen to all the negative things you throw at me. I am making progress, and I AM ENOUGH.
