- At Tool Box Buzz [www.ToolBoxBuzz.com] were mixing things up a bit. Starting this week we are introducing a brand new video series called TOOL ON TAP! [TOT]
TOT will involve the TBB CREW and other contractors in lighthearted tool talk.
It's be a lighthearted video chat after work and over a beer. These talks will occur on the job site, but mostly in our two work shops. We'll chat about all different types of tools and accessories. check it out! Авто/Мото
It’s a great tool. Have used it multiple times. Stows away, out of the way. New subscriber too…great to endorse another New England carpenter!
I own a pair of these and have saved a lot of time installing treads, I definitely endorse this product from Collins.
Thank you very much guys, a person like me, who isn't a carpenter, this tool and information is very important to make a nice clean cuts, and have an excellent results! Cheers! Enjoy that beer!
wish me luck! Just ordered some unfinished oak treads and a set of these by Stairtek. Hoping I can redo my stairs next week without slamming my saw in the floor in frustration.
its definitely a accurate gauge, it eliminates measuring to length with a tape and then two different angle measurements with a angle finder. i built my own in the shop using scrap hardwood which can adjust from 30" to 42"
Great tool! Although you should check out the blazingnailgun version. I made two of his design, one long for stair treads and one short that I use for cutting wide oak and stone thresholds.
You guys are awesome! The brewskis take it over the top!!!!!!🍺
Very funny guys , we use the word Wonky in England all the time, get Hotpants to give us a twirl next time.. lol
Great for window boards
Just bought 1 on Amazon to do my stair treads I measured my steps and every 1 was off and by the time I got to the bottom is was off a 16th or more
Don’t flip them over after cutting. Don’t measure on top, flip over to cut and flip back to install. The cuts will be reversed.
My sister lives in Concord, is that all you guys drink is Sami's, holy shit. Ok on a serious note, try the Woodpecker stair tool, it's much more precise than the Collins, and comes with adjustable size sleeves depending on width of shelf or stair. Love your vids Rob.
I just looked the woodpecker ones up and they look awesome but they expired them and no longer sell...i am so upset😡
@@trevordufresne8538 Yes they did stop selling them , in my opinion because they were ridiculously expensive, and people could not reconcile the cost
What were the holes for?
anon31415 not really sure
Yeah, I didn't get that either.
You use a nail set to put in the hole and pull the blade tight to the skirt if required.
Just FYI the intro says "Collins miter clamps"
I am just an old fashioned Finnish finish carpenter. I just use any square, note the difference off square, if any, at ends. Measure once or twice and go get the cut.
You owe it to your knees and your bottom line to get this jig.
i would make one
He’s obviously never done winder steps, Complaining about the angles. Lol
Why don't you SHOW how to USE it instead of just talking about it? SHOW it in ACTION.
They talk too much and don’t demonstrate.
Waste of time. This video that is.
