This is a man that takes extreme pride in his work, look at that finished install!
Mostly every re stretch job I do, the stairs have wrinkles smack dab in the middle of the steps.
It's the little things installers miss that over time make the entire job suck.
Excellent job again and great video, keep them coming once your wrist fully recovers!
And I see those floating steps in the back, can't wait for that video!

Amazing tip that stood out to me in this video was putting the extra layer of duct tape down on the step edge as it has the most traffic. Anyone who knows the industry will recognise this as gold. Most fitters don't even bother with this, but it's such a good idea to do!! I spent years as a flooring salesman, then eventually moved up to Managing the flooring store and also employing various fitters and now (since it went bust due to the pandemic), started fitting carpets myself, as the store had to close but I knew I could go independent to still make separate income. I don't know if it's just the UK, but in my experience most fitters aren't that particular or pay that much attention to longevity of stair carpet. Listen to this guy people, he knows his stuff 100000000000% 😊 I wish fitters I've worked with in the past cared this much about customers. Again, maybe it's just my own subjective experience, but I don't know any Fitter this considerate in their methods. I know no one at all who spend the seconds it takes to add extra steps like that to boost life of the carpet by potentially years. Respect mate.

This is a great instructional video! At first, I mistakenly felt it was too slow, and I didn’t expect to watch THE WHOLE THING, so I skipped around in the video. But like others, once I started paying attention to how this fellow is so knowledgeable and obviously experienced, I had to go back and watch every second of it video . This really nice guy is so openly generous and sharing of his knowledge and tips. He’s not a prima donna, and he’s not holding back anything; he’s doing everything he can do to share what he knows of the what, how, and why of each step in this task. Well done!

Be cautious that the tape across the nosing does not cover any staples or tackless or it will make a clicking noise ( there should not be staples there but you never know) . I work in the flooring industry, and I have to show this video to others that claim they are carpet vets.

Thank you for your videos. I want to do my own carpeting. The only thing is my stairs have one wall and open on the other side. It looks like it was role over on that end, but I cannot tell if a tack strip was used.
    Any suggestions?
