They have declared themselves to be Hamas. They have declared that they side with the notion “from the river to the sea”, which annihilates the state of Israel. They will do it via terror as the students are beginning to display; violence, threats, siding with a terrorist group, etc. they no longer are saying free Palestine. Now they are saying “we are Hamas, death to Israel, death to America,” they are indeed behaving like a terrorist group. They broke into one of the university wings and held some janitors against their will. This is not a peaceful demonstration.
Why Negotiate?
Take away the bogus "Non-profit" status of these Ivy League Colleges and have them pay their fair share in taxes. Harvard has an untax "endowment" of $50 billion. Some people call this an untaxed asset management business.

It’s not an exception. There is no issue with criticizing Israel. The problem is that they are disrupting the operation of a private institution, damaging the property of that institution, and preventing its function in different ways.
You are confused about the scope of the first amendment. That applies only to government and public settings. A private company, organization or in this case university can restrict the right to protest on its property, especially if it’s damaging or disrupting its function
Israel has been criticized since it was made into a state. That is not the problem. The problem is when you side with a terrorist group. When you threaten others and impede students from going to class. When you yell that you are Hamas a terrorist group and enemies to the free world. When you break into a building and hold the janitors as hostages for a while. This is no longer just criticizing of Israel. They’re behaving like violent thugs. And it needs to stop.

It should be extremely easy to make them see that protests under certain conditions (times, people, content, etc) are okay on campus, but a HUGE amount of what they are doing (grouping homeless encampments with students from like 8 schools, under. 18s, etc) should be done at a government related structure (is there not one fed building in nyc? Isnt the un building in NYC? Lol).
These protests are not being broken up because “the bug bad jews,” they are being broken up so the universities can complete their missions around academia (also why the protests are allowed in the first place).
This is a case of young adults being led astray by a few bad apples and the arrests hopefully alleviate that terrorist agitation element.

They have endowments from the US government, our tax dollars are paying to inculcate socialism and fascist ideas into these children. They pretend to be anti-fascists, but they behave just like them. Exams? Please, they are so laxed now. Do you know you don’t even need a qualifying SAT score to get into college? It’s all DEI. POCs have preference to merit. Hence, the ignorance before us.
