    Firstly I'm not from China but have visited China 5 times in fact I just got back one month ago from my 5th visit to Guizhou, China, my other 4 trips to China were:
    - 1994 to Guangzhou, Shenzen
    - 2002 to Shanghai and Qingdao
    - 2006 to Shanghai
    - 2018 to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou.
    Let me tell you guys, you're going to love China the more you travel within, 50+ different Chinese ethnicities, so many different cultures, modern and advanced big cities and don't forget to visit those heaven-like mountainous tourist attractions like Zhangjiajie where the movie Avatar used its mountain landscapes as reference.
    I know of many western foreigners actually moved to China after visiting with working visa. So whatever negative perspectives you guys read or heard from many western media about China, just prepare to turn them to the opposite side (positive) and you'll see the right China and that's the truth.
    After your trip(s) to multiple states or provinces of China, believe me, you'll start to question why your own leaders in government positions did not manage your country as well as China with such easy, advanced and safe livelihoods. I know because that's what had happened to me after witnessing those huge development progress in China the last 30 years. Call it Fortunately or unfortunately, China has put every country to shame with its progress especially those from the western hemispheres, China's progress indirectly made them look bad.
    Just enjoy your trip, observe and keep an open mind, I'm sure this will be an eye opening trip.

    I split my time between Qingdao, China and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. My wife is Chinese, and we maintain a newly purchased condo in the New West Coast area of Qingdao. The Western concepts of China as a dirty place with lots of people living in poverty are in error. My area of Qingdao is an ocean side paradise. The walkways near me are wide with lots of landscaping. All the streets have bike lanes for your electric mopeds and bikes. The subway system is clean modern and constantly expanding. The cost of living for most items is much cheaper than the west. The people here like westerners and are
    very friendly. The only downside is my lack of Mandarin speaking skills. I never see any homeless or beggars asking for money, people stealing catalytic converters or anything that isn't bolted down like back in the states. The weather is perfect in the spring and summer months. It does start to get cold in late October to March but other than that, this is a great place to live.

    There are older trains and the newer ones in diffrent cities in China. Just got back from our SEA tour. The one we took from Beijing to Xi'an was great 350 km/hr., comfortable, spacious seats, very smooth and quiet ride. The other one in Yichang to Shanghai was older, 250 km/hr. max speed, still comfortable seats and faster than other high-speed trains in other countries. I've been to Europe including Germany, France and UK. I've traveled in 3 high-speed trains there and these were comparable to the older ones in China. So in conclusion, I can say that China's infrastructure is much more advanced than the rest of the world.

Another thing is local banks charges nothing to business via Alipay, but foreign banks do, so sometimes small business don't wanna Pay extra fee so they don't open the access for visa/master trade, that's why sometimes foreigner's Alipay can't work.

    I'm a new subscriber. I've been to China four times in the past and backpacking for a month each time. My first arrival was in Kunming and it was nothing like the China I had imagined. I'm originally from the UK and lived mostly in Nepal with my Nepalese wife. Now we are planning on relocating to Killarney in Ireland. It's a beautiful area of Ireland with a lot of tourists. Many thanks for posting this SUPERB vlog and for sure I'll be watching many more. Best wishes from Anthony Dai

    Welcome to China, there are several suitable alternatives in China, Amap (more accurate than Google Maps in China), Didi Dache (similar to Uber), Railway 12306 (It is highly recommended that you take China's high-speed rail passport can be used, but use the manual channel), Dianping (food recommendation), Ctrip or XiaoHongshu (there are many travel guides but I don't know if there will be an English version) and the most important translation software (when you need help, you can greet strangers or staff, usually you can say "hello" first, most Chinese are willing to help foreign guests), in addition to the city of Chengdu, You are also welcome to visit Tibet (Lhasa) and Xinjiang (Urumqi), which have the most beautiful natural scenery in China

    I lived in Shandong for 11 years and only left recently for one year, with the option to return to work in 2025, Eleven years is a long time, there's been some lows but they are massively outweighed by the highs. In Shandong it's safe for children and elderly people to be outside of an evening, compare that to the UK or USA, unheard of these days. My only major criticism of the people of China is that some are noisy when out in public/restaurants etc Otherwise, no complaints. And if you go there to work, research the school before agreeing to go there and ask to speak to at least two Foreign staff.

    1. Welcome to Chengdu, China
    2. After Chengdu, I suggest going to Chongqing, because the two cities are very close
    3. The dishes in Chengdu and Chongqing taste similar, both are very spicy
    4. Generally speaking, you can use Alipay, but you must have cash in case Alipay does not work
    To take the subway, you only need to scan the "travel QR code" of Alipay, no need to buy a ticket

    interesting choice of first city to check out in china. I'm pretty sure most westerners never even heard of chengdu before lol even though there's over 20m living there. always good to carry some cash, especially with some small denominations. some street vendors do not have business accounts so they can't accept payment that's linked to a foreign credit card. and yes the payment apps have everything including translation apps. if you see robots in the hotel lobby, you can try ordering food. once delivered to the hotel lobby, the robots will take it to your room 😅. also suggest renting bikes to get around when you not in the busier city central. it's cheap and one of the best ways to see large portions of the city otherwise you will be walking A LOT. chengdu is surrounded by rivers and mountains so there's a lot to do outside the city, but because of this geography it's overcast a lot so if you see sunshine it'd be your lucky day. enjoy your trip!

However, I have never been to Chengdu myself (China is just huge and so many cities to travel) and it's great checking out Chengdu from your videos. Also, I would recommend another Chinese city with profound tradition and details, that is Nanjing, the provincial capital of Jiangsu.

    Although China is essentially a cashless society (last time for me was two years ago) because of inability to use digital payment system by people like senior citizens and visitors it is mandatory to accept cash. You will be fine as everything else. Welcome to China.

    • @ferreroyuen11
      @ferreroyuen11 22 дня назад

      Although digital payments are highly popular, if cash is not accepted anywhere, you can call the police, which is not in compliance with Chinese law. Foreign tourists need to know.

    • @Dragon-gl1rw
      @Dragon-gl1rw 21 день назад +1

    I’m studying in Chengdu right now,it’s such an amazing city.U definitely should taste the local food here which is one of the best meals in China. The province is also the hometown of panda,U can also see many pandas in the panda center,the metro is very convenient to get there,but there are always crowded it’s such a shortage.When the sunny day,if you look forward to the west side in high places,maybe you will see the snow mountains,it’s such amazing!But unfortunately,recently the weather is cloudy. I hope that you have a nice trip in this city, and I also recommend my hometown Fujian Province,especially Xiamen and Fuzhou,there are also a magical place 😊

    Chengdu is not that small. The population is 20 million. But it is famous for being very laid back. Welcoming to both young and retired people.
